[Q] Another bricked Defy+ - Defy Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hey guys, i finally need some help with my phone before i'll totally destroy it.
i was on cm-10-20130709-NIGHTLY-mb526 and installed the newest blechdose kernel, 30.08 i think.
it worked pretty well until i had some very random freeze while using the browser.
rebooting turned into a bootloop, i tried to wipe cache and dalvik then, after another reboot it took me to this "optimizing apps" thing, where it stuck again on "starting apps".
i managed how to get into custom recovery and did a system wipe, i thought thats the same as factory reset, but it turned out that it wasnt..
so the situation now is, that the phone is stuck on the standard boot logo after turning on, i cannot get into custom recovery anymore, just stock recovery works.
whats the best workaround for this ?
thanks for helping!

Phone hangs on Dual core logo, need help

I had CM7 installed on my phone, and then i proceeded to update to the beta 2. I downloaded the file, then unpacked it on my phone sdcard then proceeded to reboot in recovery mode and cleared cache , dalvik, factory settings and then updated the zip file. then clear everything again and reboot. Get stuck on dual core logo.
I can still access recovery and mount usb to add files. can anyone tell me how to fix this?
did you make a backup before installing the beta?
It seems like you've never installed a ROM before, so I would advise you to read before you try again.
Try and restore it from the 1.8.3 SBF or restore from the CM7 pre-beta2.zip.
Don't unpack the zip file.
Oh and I feel obligated to ask, but did you install romracer's recovery?
I have Tenfar's recovery. Does it matter?
When you say restore, do you mean going in recovery mode and then apply the beta-update2.zip?
I also beleive my recovery got updated to Clockwork's when I had CM7 beta installed?
I have read another post on here that suggest I should RSD flash the 1.8.3 SDF and just start anew.
Should I do that? I was on 1.8.3 prior to installing CM7 beta
I understand I probably come across as a complete noob, but I did read before I did anything.
And now this happened and I just need help fixing it, you can just say. Yes flash back to 1.8.3 with RSD, I don't need a dot point instruction on how to do that.
Now my recovery is "ClockworkMod Recovery v4.0.1.4" even tough i originally flashed Tenfar's
and my phone is unlocked.
I have tried many times to clear all caches and update the beta zip again and it does not work, I just get stuck on dual core logo again.
Thanks in advance for any help.
Redownload beta 2 again (I've had problems related to bum d/l's). Install romracers recovery. Wipe. Reinstall.
If that fails use fastboot -w to wipe and reinstall.

Legend, thanks a lot now I can go back to sleep.
I installed romancer's recovery (unlike tenfar's it took like 5 times longer to clear cache and install the rom) but it did work.
thanks for taking the time man.
I think that you forgot to wipe cache and Dalvik cache from within CWM.
For me that did the trick ...

No I had wiped dalvik and cache prior and after update.
Either beta 2 doesn't like tenfars recovery or it was an issue with the download . Since I installed romancers recovery before I tried the new download we will never know

Why use tenfar's recovery when you can use CWM real recovery now.
That might help a lot...
im having the same problem but i used romracers recovery in the first place. ive tried everything and i tried to restore my alien backup but the recovery cant find it... did prebeta1 change the directory? im lost.

[Q] Defy+ not loading any rom.

(i read many threads relating my issue but they were not same, they was little difference in the problem. and i also tried there solutions but no improvement. so i decided to ask in a thread)
i was using defy+ with CM7 rom.
I installed this rom on my defy+
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2044797
first it booted and was working but after rebooting it resulted in boot loop .
( it shows Motorola sign then shows rom animation within few seconds is resumes rom animation and it keeps repeating animation.)
i waited for it an hour but is didn't go well.
then i tried restoring my old rom using CWM but i was unable to restore it is also resulted in same...
then i tried installing sdf using rsd but i have no improvement....
Now i can only go to bootloader version 09.1 and i says battery is low , can't program . i put the charger for whole night but i still says battery low can't program
can you please help me solving this problem
After installing that Rom you needed to enter boot menu and format data to ext4. Now, if you're unable to flash any sbf due to low battery then refer here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=892026
Or if you have access to another defy then use its battery and flash the sbf. Wipe data from stock recovery if you run into any issues after sbf flash
As stated below dalvik cache should be wiped, and data is automatically wiped when you format it to ext4 as stated above

Or in other words you need to wipe data/cache and dalvik BEFORE and AFTER flashing the custom ROM (neagan or other). For now charge the battery and do the sbf flash. Pay attention at the "optional" indications. It better to do it.
CWM is missing
using your link i can solve the problem
but i dont have CWM so i cant wipe delvik data/cach
i only have bootloader
i only can go to bootloader and can't do any thing else. because CWM is removed.
tell me if you have any information about to do something using bootloader..
Do it from stock recovery, data wipe and cache wipe
Sent from my MB526 using xda premium
From stock recovery (bootloader) you will format as ext3 but is better to format in ext4 and that can be done from custom recovery. For that you have to install 2init and run it.

because there is no problem in bootloader. even i am able to flash new SDF.
it makes trouble in loading ROM....
what do you think?
battery is working now

stock recovery?
i just need to now how to go into stock recovery?
How do I enter Recovery Mode?!: With the Phone off press VOLUME DOWN then, while still pressed, power up the phone and leave VOL key pressed until you see a Yellow triangle, once you see this you are in Recovery now press Vol Up and Vol Down at the same time (if you are in Froyo) and the menu will appear, if you are on Éclair the menu should appear without having to press anything.
copy/paste from this thread.
thanks
Thanks bros
I recovered my phone and i is running with CM7 and i am not gonna try CM10 again until it comes with all bug fixes..
thanks again for your help..

Need Serious Help !!

I need to flash my Moto Defy Phone Using RSD lite
BUt i have to wipe data and cash . The problem is I cant access Stock recovery to wipe both of them ..
And my phone wont boot but stuck at Android Word .... So what's the solution please ??
If you can't get into stock recovery, flash stock rom first to recover it.
Did your flash finished with "finish/pass", or it's "please manually power your phone"?
You don't need to wipe your phone to flash it with RSDLite, everything will be wiped during flashing.
Sorry for bad english...

Mb526 bricked!! Help!

this is what i've done,
i flashed a dfp-125 sbf on my mb526.
all worked well, even when i restored apps with titanium backup,
what i missed is only an rtl fix, so i enter the custom recovery the yellow one, and wiped cache and dalvik and then install my rtl that i found.
my phone didnt come up from m logo so i did a factory reset from the custom and tried and nothing.
then from stock recovery and now it wont come uponly the white led.
every sbf that i tried is giving my passd but wont turn on te device.
is there any hope for my?
Flash a more recent sbf. As a last resort try dfp231, which should get your phone to atleast the red Motorola logo. Then wipe data and cache from stock recovery

tried that, i flashed an asian sbf becoz of the rtl, i found hebrew on it.
now i have a rooted sbf+hebrew with all my apps on it.
its what i wanted the first place!
if i want to make it a fixed sbf for hebrew and upload it to this foum, how do i do it?
i want to help the others
You can make a fixed sbf by making a system.img of your current setup, and using the sbf tools to replace the existing one with yours. Search for those tools, and read up the guide

Installed Paranoid Android.. Stuck in boot loop

Hello everyone. I am desperately in need of your help! I installed the most recent version of Paranoid Android 4.4. Everything worked great. I then decided I wanted a smaller nav bar and found a flashable zip file for Kit Kat that was meant to reduce the nav bar size. I flashed it but now I am stuck in a boot loop. I am unable to get to TWRP but can get into download mode. I tried using FlashTool to flash the stock ROM but it keeps getting stuck at 49%. I don't mind if I lose all my data, I just want to get things up and running again! What should I do? Thank you.

The reason the flashtools is failing at 49% is because you are on a non stock rom, therefore you need to wipe the phone before flashing to stock (ive had the same problem before), but because you cant get into recovery, im not sure how you will wipe your device

Okay, I managed to get into TWRP. I don't have a recovery or a rom to flash on the phone though. I tried using fastboot to push a rom to the phone but I keep getting "error: device not found". Any ideas?

Once you get into download mode, hold the buttons to get into recovery.
To get into recover
Try holding volume down + power*
Immediately when LG appears let go of both and ONLY hold onto power, should boot into option to factory reset*
Hit power button 3 times to continue, then itll load into recovery

If you cant get a rom sideloaded, Now that you can get into TWRP, wipe EVERYTHING and then flash back to stock, it should work.

By wipe everything do you mean format wipe or advanced wipe? And how will I get the stock rom onto the phone to flash it?
Thanks

I mean wipe data, system and cache (internal storage aswell if you want) and you flash the stock rom via the flashtool and a pc, it doesn't need to be in your devices storage.
