Can someone help confirm that Adaway (version 2.3) installs on your phone? For some reason I can't get it to install after updating to jwr66y.
Edit: Resolved! Cleaned up app corpse using SD Maid.

Yep. I also tried restoring it with titanium backup, with no luck either. I'm almost certain that I had it already installed before the update too.. so weird..

It just says “app not installed” with a single “done” button as opposed to a “done” and “open” button with other successful installs. I do have have a nandroid backup before the update.. but that'll hopefully be the last one to do..
That's weird! Try to download another apk! The one you got might be bad or something...go to their website

if you took an ota update, you need to reflash su. you can flash custom roms and kernels and not have root. you just wouldnt be able to use root apps/functions, like titanium, or adaway. open a terminal emulator app.. type su(press enter). if you get a # then you have root. if you dont, then you dont have root.

if you have superuser in the drawer then open titanium and on the bottom click the button that says "problems?" download a new busy box... it should work after that.

Yeah that worked but the only down fall now is the rom manager once you try and reboot into recovery u know u gotta reinstall the package.. well that doesnt work now i guess i have to wait until they update that.
I can't get this to work at all on my Vibrant, followed all the directions and no luck. Makes my phone extremely laggy.
ETA: Nevermind, just got it work.
Kept trying and trying then bam, super user pushed!

you need to push untermensch's modified 3e recovery to get update.zip to work again.
Also, what i've found with SuperOneClick, is to root it, then reboot and you shouldn't run into issues.

Install busybox installer from the market and install/update busybox. See if that fixes your issues. Also try installing SuperSu from the market, opening it, and updating su binary when it opens.
Did you run the busybox free app?

I installed busybox installer and when I try to install/update it says it failed. As for SuperSu, it doesn't give me an option to update the su binary.

I ran busybox free and it says it's unable to verify whether or not certain utilities needed for this app to run are present and functional on my device. This problem could be caused by a device that is not properly rooted or by superuser settings that are misconfigured

Likely not but thought i'd ask - Did you update to 4.1.1 after initially rooting?

Did you have the apps that use root before you rooted? I've noticed with some apps (that work with and without root) sometimes dont register that root is installed on your device so perhaps you should try redownloading them from the play store.

He should've used voodoo over the air rootkeeper to back up n save his root. So once you update, you can easily restore rot with one click in that app instead of having to use roottoolkit again.

Please link to the root guide you followed. After you rooted did you do anything else to the phone? You can try downloading the .apk file for the google play store. There are guides online to install .apk files manually.

You may want to try restoring to factory with Kies and trying again.
Having already rooted wont effect a factory reset? Have you rooted your S4 using the same method?
I am actually restoring my rooted phone with Kies right now. I can confirm after its done that there weren't any issues. There is a disclaimer in Kies saying there may be issues if your phone is rooted.
Where did you find that option in kies?

With your phone plugged in go to Tools > Upgrade firmware
And mine just finished successfully.
Remember you can delete busybox and su in your system directory to unroot your phone before you system restore in Kies.

I personally testing it and it works. The method to return the status from "Custom" to "Official" while keeping root was very nice.
I tried to use GooManager to install TWRP, and now every time I try to reboot, the phone gets to the "Samsung Galaxy Note 3" page with three lines at the top - they say:
Recovery booting.....
Recovery is not seandroid enforcing
Set Warrant Bit : Recovery
I was on the leaked KitKat firmware. Can I fix this without losing everything? Or should I just restore the 4.4 using ODIN and re-root?

I can root using this right? https://plus.google.com/+Chainfire/posts/QbVy3arpymx
I did this a few days and it worked fine. When I went to do it again earlier it ****ed up and let to that error again.
That's when I restored everything again and asked you for CWM.
Someone on there (third from bottom) mentioned they had the same error.

It seems it does it every now and again for whatever reason, I was lucky my root worked right away but my flashing of 4.4.2 didn't lol -- Reflash 4.4.2 via Odin then re-root. Should be good to go mate
EDIT: Careful if you are restoring anything via CWM, as it has just been done for 4.4.2 there *may* be issues with it that haven't been noticed.

Last thing I can think of, is you may have had the wrong file try This one at the bottom of the page is the link. If you already have this one, then Re-flash Stock to fix yourself, and hold tight on root until it can be figured out 100% for now.

Auto root seems to have worked for me. However, I didn't see the red android but the script text was there. After install, my device rebooted three times ... which was weird.

Did you unzip the autoroot files to a folder on your desktop, put your Nexus 6 in bootloader and run the extracted bat file?
Excellent the day is complete root and twrp
Seems to work just fine.
Mine also rooted fine after the reboots. I did not see the red sign either. It is a good day.
Will try when I get home. Anybody tried tethering dun?
I'm curious what rooting at the moment gains us. A few apps? Xposed doesn't work(yet). But for The moment I don't really have a huge urge to root. I will however unlock immediately. In case I'd like to root.
Besides titanium, what apps can we use?
No red logo either.
Had to run the bat 2 times, but looks good, root confirmed.
