As far as I know, you can't move app data to your external sdcard without root. There's only a few apps I know of that will allow you to move the data to sdcard. Bards tale being one of them. Should you root your device, directory bind is a good choice on moving data over. Here's a link to the app and directions to use it http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2059890
Hope this helps.
Thank you and i want to root I just don't feel like my phone bricking and not t being able to get another one

Man the root process is totally easy. And you either do it right or you don't get root. Your phone is safe. And once you get root you don't even have to use it. It just makes your phone more accessible. If you try to root a hundred times and fail every time it will still startup just like it did yesterday morning before you did anything.

Now if you get root, just don't do anything with a root app (and you will know without doubt Cruz it prompts you) that you haven't looked up at length.

Here's a link to the guide on how to root your phone
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1940630
Some users have reported that the su file and superuser apk provided in the file did not give them proper working superuser permissions. I have provided this root zip that will help you get root should the original files don't work. Just delete the su file and superuser apk and replace those files with the ones inside this zip and place them in the same folder as the motofail2go and run the exploit again and it should work.
I did root and i am so glad i did it makes everythign easier and if we get an update for android 4.2 can i just use voodoo to keep root and update and then restore root? and thank you for convincing me to root

No problem. Just remember to install the latest safe strap recovery and make a back up of your stock ROM before you change anything or flash a ROM. Otherwise if you make a mistake you'll have to flash the stock firmware and reroot your phone.
Yes you can use voodoo ota root app to maintain root should we get a 4.2 update. Although its not guaranteed to work. Keep that in mind.
After installing MDL custom kernel and rooting I now have a persistent notification "Detection Information - The device has detected an application attempting unpermitted actions. To protect your device, it is recommended you reboot". Rebooting doesn't stop the notification from reappearing after about 5-10mins. I have tried clearing cache via custom recovery but doesnt help. Any ideas?
Thanks!
Use titanium backup or similar app to "freeze" seandroid.apk and reboot. Nag notification should be gone.

Thanks, can this be removed using a Root File Explorer? Also is there another free app I can download/use to freeze?
Dont remove it....not sure of negative implications of removal. Free version of System Tuner will let you freeze it I believe.

I actually have removed them completely and the message is gone. I have not seen it since. I have rebooted several times and even flashed the blue ICS Statusbar and blue center clock mod after that. No issues at all. I deleted both SEAndroid and that SamsungKNOX or whatever that was called. I deleted them through Rom Toolbox Pro (Amazing app well worth it the price)

I don't have KnOx yet. I reflashed back to MDC and pushed the stock kernel and CWM, and was ok until I installed SU... SU seems to be what is detected but I didn't have any issues until MF9 came out and kept overheating my phone, downloading all the time and failing because I had root and wifihack.

I believe this happens because your not fully MDL and you have two different versions running at the same time. For example MDC with MF9 or MDL with MF9 or MDC with MDL. To actually remove it you need to upgrade fully to the version you want not mixed.

I'm having issues with this constant error message, looked to find the above files and I have nothing. To search for the above file, I used Root Explorer. I'm using the FreeGS4 ROM and use Team Win Recovery. Would using a different ROM fix the issue? Any help getting this annoying message to go away would be appreciated. Everything works fine, it's this constant nagging of a message.
I understand now that logcat requires root for Android 4.1+ is that right?
I would like some way to debug my app on someone's phone remotely, in the past I have got them to install alogcat and send me the output, but since I've upgraded to 4.1 I've never got it to work.
Whats the best technique to obtain syslog logcat data when my app fails, the data which I see on the play store isn't enough detail for me to resolve or identify the problem.
1 user is getting this error:
Caused by: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: com.google.android.maps.GeoPoint

as far as I know no-one else is seeing this issue,
They have google maps installed but I don't know what else to check other that get access to the logcat from there phone.
thanks
They can still download the Android SDK and then type
Code:
adb shell
logcat
I was hoping an easier method would be available.
you can ask them to mail you dumpstate_app_error.txt.gz from /data/log/ .I think astro can copy that to sdcard.Or else you could run
Code:
pull /data/log/dumpstate_app_error.txt.gz /sdcard
from any terminal app to copy that to sdcard.

Nope...data is mounted as RW by default and more over you need root only to write to a partition mounted as R(users should also be considered). You can even copy system files with astro without root. But Its been so long since I did that and don't know how it has changed with 4.1 and 4.2.But no harm in trying

In 4.x you need root to access the logs from an app so I do not think that this is possible.
On 2.3 when my phone was not rooted I was not able to access /data at all.

It does need root. Well, every app can get logs the old way and they will get logs, but just those logs with the user id of the app. No more logs.
Just one more thing I could think of: Maybe the developer of the ROM changed that code in the Android sources of his ROM.
Or when the app is installed, the ROM automatically runs that command:
Code:
pm grant com.delta.Info android.permission.READ_LOGS
I will test it on my phone and tell you the result. If it does not work, it is a feature of the ROM.

FYI I'm the dev of the app .And there is no root,no extra permissions,Rom is not modded (except for a file which needs for the app to work. But it doesnt have any relation with logs).
If you still have doubt,Just create an email indent with the log file in /data/log as an extra data in Async task and try

Correct! I can read and(!) follow
open rOM Toolbox, scroll right to build.prop Editer and open
Scroll left and create backup
---------- Post added at 02:57 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:55 PM ----------
now open root explorer or file explorer
go to SD card rOM Toolbox build.prop backup file and insert the file that you downloaded
---------- Post added at 03:02 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:57 PM ----------
now go back to backup and restore in rOM Toolbox for build.prop and restore the file that you downloaded here's where it gets hairy
whatever you do do not let it try to install whatever it downloads if you keep touching and using the tablet it will not attempt it on its own it must be at idle.after you reboot go to settings and check version number it should have the new build.prop file and check for updates. I'm hoping it will attempt to redownload the downgrade file to cashe then you must immediately remove it from device and delete that ROM slot.
it may not even like the swap and not even boot in that case that's why we had safestrap installed. It will not work just delete the slot and move on with life
Ok! Did that, installed the downloaded file and did a reboout.

Done! Back in business
now it doesn't really matter how you want to try to do it but what we need to do is edit your file to accommodate the newer version numbers
you can either go to those backup files and swap their and restore again or use the backup file for reference and do it line by line in the prop build editor

No never bro either it is installed as system app or user app, if it requires root permission then it always requires root permission independent upon is it system app or an user app.
I have seen that system pannel app works fully when installed on nougat as system app but does not work fully when installed as user app it asks for adb or rooting to work fully.
Hmm, interesting. I think it might work. I am not rooted now. But try this.
- First, root your Droid flashing Magisk.
- Install LSpeed from Play Store.
- Install Titanium backup and from there turn LSpeed into system app.
- Then uninstall root by flashing this on Magisk
- Reboot and check if LSpeed is working.
I am curious about this as well! Thanks for asking!
