After installing MDL custom kernel and rooting I now have a persistent notification "Detection Information - The device has detected an application attempting unpermitted actions. To protect your device, it is recommended you reboot". Rebooting doesn't stop the notification from reappearing after about 5-10mins. I have tried clearing cache via custom recovery but doesnt help. Any ideas?
Thanks!
Use titanium backup or similar app to "freeze" seandroid.apk and reboot. Nag notification should be gone.

Thanks, can this be removed using a Root File Explorer? Also is there another free app I can download/use to freeze?
Dont remove it....not sure of negative implications of removal. Free version of System Tuner will let you freeze it I believe.

Using TITANIUM BACKUP and FREEZING app called SEAndroid.apk DOESN'T WORK PROPERLY!!
DO NOT USE IT, YOUR SYSTEM WILL GO BACK TO CUSTOM AFTER SOME TIME!!! NOT RECOMMENDED!!!!

1. Use File Manager with root explorer instead and mount SYSTEM as WRITABLE.
2. Go to: /data/data/ look for com.sec.knox.seandroid and rename it to 000.knox.seandroid or whathever you wish.. Same thing applies to com.sec.knox.store

I actually have removed them completely and the message is gone. I have not seen it since. I have rebooted several times and even flashed the blue ICS Statusbar and blue center clock mod after that. No issues at all. I deleted both SEAndroid and that SamsungKNOX or whatever that was called. I deleted them through Rom Toolbox Pro (Amazing app well worth it the price)

I don't have KnOx yet. I reflashed back to MDC and pushed the stock kernel and CWM, and was ok until I installed SU... SU seems to be what is detected but I didn't have any issues until MF9 came out and kept overheating my phone, downloading all the time and failing because I had root and wifihack.

I believe this happens because your not fully MDL and you have two different versions running at the same time. For example MDC with MF9 or MDL with MF9 or MDC with MDL. To actually remove it you need to upgrade fully to the version you want not mixed.

I'm having issues with this constant error message, looked to find the above files and I have nothing. To search for the above file, I used Root Explorer. I'm using the FreeGS4 ROM and use Team Win Recovery. Would using a different ROM fix the issue? Any help getting this annoying message to go away would be appreciated. Everything works fine, it's this constant nagging of a message.

I cant seem to uninstall any of the stock apps that came with the phone. I can delete all the apk files by simply doing rm file.apk, but that only removes the installation file, it doesnt actually uninstall. i found various threads saying they can be uninstalled using the package manager, but i dont have any success.
# pm uninstall com.sprint.zone
pm uninstall com.sprint.zone
Failure
is the error i receive, and that is regardless if which stock app i try to uninstall. ive rooted using the standard method detailed here, not the unrevoked, and i use 'su' before attempting my uninstall, still no luck.
any ideas?
Download Titanium Backup from the market.
tried that this morning, and it does the same thing. the apk file was removed, but settings > applications > manage applications, stil has it in the list
*edit*
not sure if i just have it rooted in some weird way, but mounting the /system as rw still wont allow me to delete files. it tells me it deletes them, but they remain after a reboot. if i go thru recovery instead, it seems to resolve the problem, apps removed
I get the same "failure" error message. What does Titanium Backup have to do with this thread?
Do you have Busy Box installed with Titanium?

Patching BrowserProviderProxy.odex failed. Get the bootloader, system.img, boot.img from the 4.2 factory image and flash those via fastboot. Afterwards, boot clockwork recovery and wipe cache and dalvik.

You probably added the stock Ics browser for flash or something. Part of that procedure is to rename the file BrowserProviderProxy.odex to a backup name like BrowserProviderProxy.odex1. All you need to do is rename it back to the proper name. You can use something like root explorer or command line.

I had the same problem with es explorer. So I went to settings - root settings - unchecked each option and then rechecked it. Then i went back to the system - apps folder and renamed it - no problems. Good luck.
I want to access data/media and data/data folder on my girlfriend's phone to see something but she is not rooted and does not want to root. Is there a workaround for this or no?
From what I recall you can use root explorer to access and read the system without root. You just can't change anything.

Hi!
I've a rollback file on my Kindle currently waiting for downgrading.
The file just popped in and waiting that I'll charge my kindle.
Is there anything I can do for the community to support with information and/or files?
I am on stock 4.5.2 with, of course, no root.
Cheers

Correct! I can read and(!) follow
open rOM Toolbox, scroll right to build.prop Editer and open
Scroll left and create backup
---------- Post added at 02:57 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:55 PM ----------
now open root explorer or file explorer
go to SD card rOM Toolbox build.prop backup file and insert the file that you downloaded
---------- Post added at 03:02 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:57 PM ----------
now go back to backup and restore in rOM Toolbox for build.prop and restore the file that you downloaded here's where it gets hairy
whatever you do do not let it try to install whatever it downloads if you keep touching and using the tablet it will not attempt it on its own it must be at idle.after you reboot go to settings and check version number it should have the new build.prop file and check for updates. I'm hoping it will attempt to redownload the downgrade file to cashe then you must immediately remove it from device and delete that ROM slot.
it may not even like the swap and not even boot in that case that's why we had safestrap installed. It will not work just delete the slot and move on with life
Ok! Did that, installed the downloaded file and did a reboout.
System works, but no text is visible, only icons.
Next to ask for a update? But how as i can't read anything...

Done! Back in business
now it doesn't really matter how you want to try to do it but what we need to do is edit your file to accommodate the newer version numbers
you can either go to those backup files and swap their and restore again or use the backup file for reference and do it line by line in the prop build editor

No never bro either it is installed as system app or user app, if it requires root permission then it always requires root permission independent upon is it system app or an user app.
I have seen that system pannel app works fully when installed on nougat as system app but does not work fully when installed as user app it asks for adb or rooting to work fully.
Hmm, interesting. I think it might work. I am not rooted now. But try this.
- First, root your Droid flashing Magisk.
- Install LSpeed from Play Store.
- Install Titanium backup and from there turn LSpeed into system app.
- Then uninstall root by flashing this on Magisk
- Reboot and check if LSpeed is working.
I am curious about this as well! Thanks for asking!
