Looking for user switch apps - Nexus 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

After upgrade to 4.3, i find one new feature interesting, restricted profile user.
I created restricted profile, when i want to switch profile, i need to push the power button twice to switch(logout/login).
So i am looking for apps can switch user without push the power button.
Anyone know that?
Thanks.

Can you not use the pull down menu on the right side of the screen? Click on your profile PIC and it should take you to the lock screen where you can select a profile.

I think you would need to flash the ROM back to stock.

From the sounds of it he already know something about android. Just leave it alone. He probably knows enough not to use it. Besides, the settings there are not dangerous.

Why does it matter if they are there or not? They aren't hurting anything just being there and if you don't know anything about android you are better off just living with it.

Thanks guys, I hope he will learn to use them reading what you guys do,

Go and open developer options. On the top right corner there should be a switch to turn it off. I'm on a custom rom and I can't remember if this option is on stock rom. Worth a look.
If he wants the screen full Jelly Beans he needs to tap the Android Version.

Entering developer menu, top right corner has toggle to turn off on stock rom.
You can switch it of in the developer option but the option to reopen remains I wanted to know how to remove the option from settings list as if it hadn't been opened at all?

It's generally harmless.
Just thought I'd point out that the hidden developer options thing is kinda new to android, previous versions (ICS and below I believe) all had the developer options menu there right from the start, it's only since jellybean that they decided that you need to tap the build thing a couple of times to make it show.
Don't worry about it

Actually it started at 4.2. Everything up through 4.1.2 had it showing.
Thanx for all your help, there's a lot of decent people on xda.

Any way to change the soft keys?

I've looked around and it appears there are a number of paid apps that apparently let me change the soft keys, but I'm not 100% sure if they'll work with the stock LG G2 "OS"...
I want my multitasking button back... No need for a settings button, IMO.

Absolutely. And I'm handy with UNIX, so navigating the filesystem and using text editors to muck with XML isn't a problem. I'm just not a developer.
Also interested in being able to change it that key to recent apps.

Just tested, no you can not. It will always hide after you lock your screen, so you'll have to swipe/touch to bring the soft keys back up.

And also it will always overlap over the screen. There are ways to keep the navbar from disappearing, but you won't be able to access anythi g underneath it because it doesn't shift the screen up, just overlay

Big letdown because it looks like a great app. Hopefully the dev can get it working for us in the future.

My quasi solution was auto hide soft keys, auto to 0, auto hide only had anywhere on the bar checked, and swipe. You still need to swipe after wake, but if you need anything under it, just tap the left side to hide. If you use the mock option, home will leave space for it.

I sent the nova developer an email about it. He said he is looking into it. He can enable if LG allows third party apps access to that feature.

I use GMD soft keys to hide them completely then use LMT for pie. That way I can completely control my button layout, gain screen real estate, navigate from left right and bottom and do it with whatever colors I choose. A must have for me.

Custom Quick Remote

Before my question, I thought I would let you all know that you can build your own custom remote with the Quick Remote app. You can completely customize the layout and add whichever buttons you want and then teach each button a command from your current remotes. I have attached a photo of mine.
My question is how would I backup my custom remote if I change roms? I don't want to have to rebuild it lol.

Is there a way to activate onscreen buttons?

Like instead of the capacitive and home hardware buttom. A line at the lower part of the screen is used to show on screen buttons
Sent from my SM-N9005 using Tapatalk 4
I've always used the line that you add to your build.prop file and it adds it by itself but it doesn't work in the note 3, I tried it and it went into an infinite systemui force close, so I guess it's a no go.
I'm also interested in them as I use the s pen too much and I hate pressing the home button with it.

I'm using Swipe Home Button. It uses gestures for various actions. It's not perfect, but it keeps my pen off the home button. No root required. I have it paired with a "screen off" app, so I can avoid using the power button, too.

There's also Virtual Button Bar, which is more of a pop-up menu of icons (can be set to always be visible). It's not being developed anymore, but it still works, and served its purpose while I was using it.

Not sure if there's an option for that, but you can keep it running in the pull down notification bar and as a widget on the lock screen.

Yes I know, but sincerely I hate persistent apps notifications in notification bar... I have widget in lockscreen (and from some days ago the widget has change appearance, for me is very ugly...), but I prefer use complete remote from the app... However it's not a problem to click on a button after a few seconds, but if I can skip that screen can be better... Or delete also, and keep only remote

Yea I know what you mean. I actually use IR remote as well, it's handy as it opens straight into the remote after you have used one. I know some people don't like having more than one app for one purpose but it's free and work a look.
