I think you would need to flash the ROM back to stock.

From the sounds of it he already know something about android. Just leave it alone. He probably knows enough not to use it. Besides, the settings there are not dangerous.

Why does it matter if they are there or not? They aren't hurting anything just being there and if you don't know anything about android you are better off just living with it.

Thanks guys, I hope he will learn to use them reading what you guys do,

I was thinking of a factory reset but not sure if this would work plus he says he wants to learn how to root his nexus and get doing the stuff u guys do.thanks for advice

Go and open developer options. On the top right corner there should be a switch to turn it off. I'm on a custom rom and I can't remember if this option is on stock rom. Worth a look.
If he wants the screen full Jelly Beans he needs to tap the Android Version.

Entering developer menu, top right corner has toggle to turn off on stock rom.

You can switch it of in the developer option but the option to reopen remains I wanted to know how to remove the option from settings list as if it hadn't been opened at all?

It's generally harmless.

Just thought I'd point out that the hidden developer options thing is kinda new to android, previous versions (ICS and below I believe) all had the developer options menu there right from the start, it's only since jellybean that they decided that you need to tap the build thing a couple of times to make it show.
Don't worry about it

Actually it started at 4.2. Everything up through 4.1.2 had it showing.

Thanx for all your help, there's a lot of decent people on xda.

I am sick of this screenshot button on screen!!!!!

Is there any way to get rid of this option????it accidently get pressed then i have to waste 10 seconds.its frustrating......i am on stock rom 4.0.3
Slow down !
This is Samsung. You can customize the button or remove it.
Go to Display in your settings. Under "quick launch" you will find a few cool options. Including disable. That will remove it entirely.

Yes, this is probably my favorite update in 4.0.4. I actually replaced the screen shot button with an app drawer one.
Where is this option?
It`s in settings/ display / quick launch , but only in 4.04
John.
just flash a custom rom. And be done with it

yes buddy its convenient but when pressed accidently it is irritating
Just rename in system/app the P5_ScreenCapture.apk (Mount R/W) . That will leave the icon, but accidently taking pictures will be something of the past.
As far as I know in Touchwizz there isn't yet any solution for the system bar.

Anyone else bothered by NO quick auto-rotate switch?

On my Nexus 7, the quick settings drag-down menu has auto-rotate lock, but my Nexus 4 does not. Both are running Android 4.2.1.
Is anyone else bothered by the fact that there is no quick way to lock and unlock your screen orientation?
Or if there is, please let me know!
You can use an app for that, if it isn't a problem - Power Toggles. It has a slightly different behaviour - as far as I know, the native auto-rotate toggle locks the display in its current orientation, whereas Power Toggles only seems to be able to set it to portrait and leave it that way.
That's the quick'n'easy way, otherwise, there may be a mod for the same purpose.

yes the double slide shows the quick settings for wifi, gps, etc.. on nexus 4 there is NO auto-rotate whereas on nexus 7 there is.
Just got my N4 a few weeks ago and this lack of foresight bugs the hell out of me. Is is plausible to extract the auto-rotate quick setting toggle from the N7 factory image and build that into a custom, modified stock, 4.2.2 ROM?
If you're saying to yourself "seems like a lot of work for something with such little use," spare us all the comment. Little details are the most important IMHO.
Use an app named power toggles
Here's a screenshot of my setup.

If you're willing to, just flash a custom ROM such as PA which has it built in. Being a Nexus, most ROMs are very close to stock in most ways.

flash a custom rom, or build your own. its android, better yet a nexus, you have many choices and options..

Can't Access Dev Settings.

I don't have an option for developer settings at all. I went into "about tablet" and tapped the build number 7 times, it said I was a developer. Hit the back button, no option for Developer settings above "about tablet". Running 4.2.2, Nexus 7 16GB Wifi only.
Either I am really really dumb, or my Nexus is being weird.
Any help is welcome.
Go in the about menu. Tap the build number until it say "you are now a developper".

Did they hide that menu for any particular reason in the update? I wonder why custom roms don't have it automatically enabled...

Its hidden to keep those who have no business messing with those options from inadvertantly doing so.

After upgrade to 4.3, i find one new feature interesting, restricted profile user.
I created restricted profile, when i want to switch profile, i need to push the power button twice to switch(logout/login).
So i am looking for apps can switch user without push the power button.
Anyone know that?

The Google Experience .....

I haven't seen anyone really mention this if someone had I apologize. In flashing and modding my Note 3i have discovered that KitKat 4.4 is a popular topic. We now have some of the apps to flash to our devices and now we have the actual stock Android launcher from KitKat 4.4!!!!!! The Google Experience Launcher is amazing by far the best stock launcher ever and one of the smoothest I have ever used also. I have been using it for a day and after set up I am currently using it as my daily. The only thing I really don't like is that you are unable to change the icons on the home screen and there are no native gestures implemented but no big deal. Now they have implemented some major changes the app drawer now contains only your apps, widgets have their own section, you can arrange and add more home screens. Google Now is actually completely incorporated into the launcher itself and the search bar is constantly listening for you to say Ok Google to start a search using voice commands through Google Now. There are 3 apk's you will have to install to make this work they are totally dependant upon each other so if one is missing it will not open or work. I will post a link for you so you can download and give it a try for yourself I hope you guys enjoy and remember I did not create this or have anything to do with it I am just sharing it. If you brick your device it's not my fault ...

Just a heads up that you'll need to go into Google Now's language settings and change them to English UK and then back to English US for the search function to not start crashing. I actually just left mine on English UK and haven't run into any issues.

I have installed all three apps but I Dont have the always listening feature working. Is there a certain order that they have to be installed in? Any other special dependencies that need to be met? I've done the process of searching and changing laguages but not always listening working. The search works but I have to hit the button and it doesn't say "Say OK Google" to search. Any ideas?

It goes automatically to Google Launcher with no Touchwiz option. A little tinkering reveals you have to clear the defaults for Google Search.
