Hi all,
I've tried to resolve this using pre-existing threads, but it seems that this may be a very specific issue that hasn't really arisen too much.
I am in the process of creating my own website and wanted to check what it looked like on different platforms; it loads fine on Windows, Mac OSX, iPhone and iPad. It'll also load up on my Galaxy S4 when connected via wi-fi.
I tried to show a friend while I was out and connected to 3G mobile data...and both Google Chrome and the inbuilt browser are returning DNS errors. This is the ONLY website that it is happening with.
I've checked the backend processing and due to it working on other platforms I've ruled that out as being an issue. Has anyone any idea what may have caused this, and why it would only affect a single website?

The Iconia is my first Android device. I decided to go with it over the iPad since I just couldn't justify buying something that felt like a huge version of my phone.
With that being said I have issues with the market. I keep getting load errors when searching/pulling up an app to read the description. Is this an issue with the android market or an issue with my device?
I also have issues with the stock browser but I am going to try Dolphin to see if it helps.
What kind of error?
If it's load error and it gives you options to Retry or Cancel then your Wifi is not connected or losing connection.
That is the issue I'm having. Would the wifi issue be related to the tablet? I have no issues on my notebook and iphone.
i've had problems with some wireless routers and my iconia. make sure you have updated firmware for your router. it's a quick and easy fix if it works. also try wep instead of wpa. lowered encryption will sometimes clear up an issue with compatibility.
I'll look into that. My router is pretty old and I have never done squat with it.
I updated my firmware on my router and so far tonight I haven't had the market freeze or have any errors. I do have another question and that is why doesn't my apps show up under installed in the market? I also have two installed apps that are listed as not installed in the market,

Hi guys,
So, I know this issue is really common... but after lots of searching I haven't found a satisfactory solution, only a couple of wonky workarounds.
My Nexus 4 is running 4.4.2 - everything is stock, and unrooted. Perhaps this WiFi bug comes as no surprise since Google likes to take its time fixing it. Anyways, a few certain SSIDs, including a really common public one here called Shaw Go WiFi, are stuck looping "Obtaining IP Address" when I try to connect. Apparently the problem is to do with a DHCP request conflict btwn the router and the client.
With public WiFi, all you can do is deal with it through the client side (or in other words, you have no control over the router). That said, when other devices work on the same network, you know it can't just be the router - my understanding is that it has to do with the kernel/drivers as well. Plus, this did not use to ever happen on my N4 before, which definitely means it isn't 100% on the router side. Perhaps it is to do with my installation of Snapdragon Battery Guru, which I promptly uninstalled to fix the problem but to no avail.
I also tried factory resetting, twice. The second time I did a true hard reset from scratch by not signing in with my Google account or syncing apps/app data. Evidently neither reset resolved the problem.
I have only noticed two prominent workarounds in my research:
1. Deleting a system folder containing files pertaining to the DHCP and fiddling with a couple permissions. This can only be done with root access, which I don't have and want to avoid for now unless I truly need to use it.
2. Use a static IP. Except this is not a real solution at all since it only works for each SSID you come across that doesn't play nice, and it doesn't work anyways if you do not know the Static IP, Gateway address and Subnet mask, etc in the case of a public access point.
In terms of a REAL solution, I initially had hopes that 4.4.3 will be the one to fix this .. and who knows it might. But when I looked deep into past threads throughout the web, I was flabbergasted to find out that this problem has been pervasive since at least the days of Gingerbread, well before I converted to Android along with many others. If after all this time the problem is still there, how can we be sure that Google will resolve it in the next dot release?
Long story short, I am wondering if there is an alternative that is remotely ideal, or at least better than the two mentioned above. If anyone can chime in with a hint that would be great.
Since originally posting, I have tried: unlocking the bootloader, rooting my device, and deleting old DHCP leases. Then I unrooted, flashed a fresh factory image of stock 4.4.2 and re-locked OEM bootloader.
Nothing has worked so far.
Hi,
Trying to use Samsung Galaxy Tab 4s and connecting them to a corporate network, I can connect the devices fine using a certificate, but as soon as i attempt to add a manual proxy the tablet crashes and doesn't save the settings. I've done the same thing with Samsung Galaxy S5s (4.4.3) and they work absolutely fine.
I've used KIES to update the tablets and that doesn't seem to resolve the problem either. Does anyone have any ideas?
Thanks

G,
hi, just to be clear, i don't know about proxy setup, BUT what you said with regards to the certificate got me to thinking
maybe it's security related, specifically from this thread as a thought, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=938482
A) Ask your company IT system admin to allow your MAC ID to access the internet.
Also maybe something in this thread as to your process, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=975791
an unrelated device but discusses reboot issues when setting proxy manually,
Also, though i can't find the thread, i remember reading about rooting/tripping knox making devices disqualified/blacklisted/unusable
for enterprise mode.
hope that points you in a helpful direction.

Hey thanks for your help!
what is strange is that it doesn't seem to happen on the phone, although they are configured very similarly. There is nothing on the network that is blocking Mac addresses, or even the device type! its quite similar to the issue in the link you posted, but i couldn't really find a solution in that link!

G,
hi, can you describe/post your entire process, including app specifics if applicable ? Model id's as well ?

Hi. I'm currently experiencing a weird issue with my phone and wondered if I was alone.
So basically, over some wifi, some stuff behaves in a weird way. For example, Ebay, Twitter and LPMobile (local french news app) can't download images. Also, Clash Royale can't update and i have issues connecting games to Google Play Games. This bug only occurs on my home network tho. Everything works just fine on Mobile Data and some other wifi connections (School, Work...) I believe the problem is somewhat linked to software since i had this issue on my older phone (Honor 7x). I believe it is linked to the Packet flooding Issue back in January of this year. However, I tried installing many different versions of Google Play Services on my device and nothing changed.
Does anyone experience this issue?
My home Router is a Linksys EA7500 Max-Stream, if this can help.
Thank you!
It appears I am having similar issue when I am on wifi. Facebook, Instagram will not load pictures and new posts.
Have you resolved your issue?

No, I haven't resolved it, tho from what I tried, it seems to be linked to my router. What's your router?

From what you have described this seems to be an issue with your WiFi connection at home and not the phone. I would reset the router and see if that resolved your issue.
I have a similar issue. I own both a 6 and 6t - the 6 no issues gets on wifi just fine but the 6t? Not so much. I will connect up all day long to 2.4Ghz wireless and get on the internet but if I put it on 5Ghz (which all my stuff uses) it connects, get an ip but will go no where on the internet. It's like it has no DNS or something. Frustrating as hell. I opened a support ticket with OnePlus and they told me to send it back. (PS I tired all the fixes, router reboot, forget network, I even tried a factory data reset...nothing same behavior).
Wifi dropping issue
Same issue with my 6t. Frist oneplus devide and disappointed. It's been weeks i havent used my device.. because wifi doesont works..
It's anyone using Private DNS with cloudflare? That gave me issues with my wifi at work until I disabled it. It didn't give me problems anywhere else though.
my wifi works great; most likely, those that are having wifi problems have issues with their router/modem/isp;
usually, its not the phone where the wifi problem is..

Hi everyone,
I've got a Samsung M30s a month ago, and I never had issues until now.
Google Play Store and Youtube started working very very slowly maybe a week ago, and now they literally do not load anything whenever I am connected to the Wifi.
Both the apps work fine on mobile data, and Youtube works fine when I open it on the Google Chrome app.
I've tried every troubleshooting I found:
-Clearing cache and data from both apps and Google Play Services;
-Resetting the phone;
-Changing the WiFi DNS to Google's parameters (8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4);
-Logging in and out of my Google account numerous time, and relogging directly from the Play Store,
-Turning off all data savers option;
-Turning off all battery saving options;
-Disabling IPv4 or IPv6 on the WiFi.
About my wifi: I am using a router that does not belong to me, but it is an hotspot of my home provider (Vodafone) that i can use for free since I am their client on another WiFi at my parents house.
I tried connecting both to the wifi with my log in details directly or using my computer hotspot as a middle point.
I cannot currently go to my parents house to see if the issue persist using a personal wifi connection (as we are on a strict lockdown here in Italy).
The phone is not rooted nor it has the bootloader unblocked, I like modding and have experience with a lot of Samsung devices but I like the Samsung One interface and I don't want to void the warranty so soon.
My current software version is PPR1180610011M307FNXXU2ASL2.
The phone model is SM-M307FN (European version with the Exynos chip).
I am writing here because everything I tried literally hasn't worked and I really don't know what else to do.
Has anybody else experienced this issue?
Try on wifi from another Internet provider
I do not think it is a matter of phone itself
But: how does Youtube work on a laptop connected to same wifi ?

That's my question too. For what's worth i tried connecting to a phone hotspot (so internet passing through mobile data) and things still don't work.
Youtube works fine on all laptops i know connected to the wifi.
Also worth nothing: when I change DNS to 8.8.4.4. And 8.8.8.8, the situation goes back to normal for a few minutes and then it slows down again.
Question: does the same issue persist even while using a VPN?

Yes to a certain degree. I tried a couple of a vpn with different location (namely USA and other parts of Europe), and the apps did work faster but the issue appeared after a scrolling down the page for a couple of times. I contacted Samsung Support and they told me it is a known issue for a good number of people and that Google is working on it (here's the link to the support Google forum:https://support.google.com/googleplay/thread/40380785?hl=en ).
I guess there'ss nothing to do but to wait.

i have a similar issue with google play store.....also i noticed one thing is that even though i have turned on auto updates & am connected to the wifi the entire time(literally) the apps never update on their own....at one point when i checked the apps i had over 30+ apps to update(some of them were system apps)......& yes youtube is lagging for me as well...
