I installed timely on my device and had an alarm set. Then decided that I did not need the alarm and deleted it. Nevertheless, the app still woke me up three hours earlier than I wanted it to. So naturally I was very unhappy, and I uninstalled it. Then the worst possible thing happened... THE ALARM STAYED BEHIND. Now the alarm noise goes off every 10 or so minutes and there is no way for me to turn it off. I have no other alarm apps on my phone, there is no alarm setup in the android clock app, and it is still using the tone that I had setup for Timely. I'm becoming really upset because the last thing I want to do is factory reset my phone, but it seems to be the only way to fix it... I really need some help, maybe there is a file that I can delete from my phone?

Just uninstall the Timely app should fix it! Or try force stopping it beforehand!

I have an unlocked rogers magic on att. I don't know what the heck is wrong but I have had to reformat the phone SEVEN times today. This is asinine. The first 3 times, I was in use of a program. The 4th thru 7th times, I was no where even near the phone. I tried to narrow down what apps are cause this and I can't figure it out. It seems to happen primarily when the phone is plugged in. I had a 4gb SD card in there but I changed it to a 2gb to make sure that wasn't the issue. It just goes into an endless loop at the HTC screen and I have to reformat. PLEASE HELP
As stated before - I think its a faulty unit/handset - take it back for an exchange.
It seems like the issue is occuring when I am doing things with an alarm. I used Klaxon, built in alarm and another one from the Market and it always seems to crash then. More often when it is plugged into to AC.
Okay... The issue is definitely any sort of alarm function. Whether I use Klaxon or the built in alarm. It was perfect all morning. I had even rebooted it and it worked fine. I set an alarm and not even 90 seconds later, it is off and back into the loop. Any advice? I can't go without an alarm.

I have the same issue when using WakeMe Alarm Clock, less than 5 mins after install my phone starts looping. I just started using the regular alarmclock and the problem never occurred again.

Interesting. I had no others installed yesterday though (I think) and used the regular one and it happened. I will wait till I get some sort of reliable backup program before trying again.
EDIT: AND WakeMe Alarm was the first one I downloaded. Interestingly enough, when I wiped the phone, it was STILL on there
I have the same problem, help me please!
I've read a lot about people having issues with their alarms. This morning, I had the first one of those.
Alarm was set for 7.30, when I woke up around 8.30 and picked up the phone, it seemed the clock was stuck at 4.30 am and took about 3 seconds to update (not the fancy HTC clock, the one in the notification bar!). I went to bed last night around midnight and didn't touch the phone all night.
Alarm did not go off even belatedly once the clock updated. This is also not a recurring alarm issue since I only set this one last night. Also not a sound issue, the volume was up quite high and not mistakenly set to silent as has happened to some people.
Has anyone else experienced this?
(and yes, I'm still running a T-Mobile G2 stock ROM, too much of a chicken to update to the new leaked ROM! Hoping HTC will roll it out officially ASAP!))
Thanks for any input!
I've had the same problem with my Hero, and I had the same problem with my old XDA Orbit (also made by HTC) that was running Windows Mobile.
I wonder if it's a hardware issue with the way HTC interfaces their firmware with the hardware clock or something like that.
i do also have the same problem, sometimes. it helps to simply reboot the phone. i don't know why it goes in some kind of "deep-sleep", but i hope it will be fixed in the next update.
I've had the same thing (ish) but it was just a crash - I'd been installing and uninstalling apps all night, didn't reboot my phone before going to bed at 11pm. When my alarm failed to go off, I looked at the clock and it was stuck on 11.03pm and the screen wouldn't slide down to unlock, so it had crashed just after I'd gone to bed.
Since then, if ever I'm installing and uninstalling and testing apps and fiddling with settings, I always reboot when I'm done just to make sure nothing's misbehaving. Not had the problem since.
I tend to turn on the alarm each night and turn it off in the morning.
Not had an issue with it failing yet.
Not that that is the right way around it as it should go off at the same time each day when left on all the time.
But it may help if some are having a recurring issue.
Ok, it finally failed for me this morning. Alarm went off, got the two buttons in the lock screen to snooze or dismiss.
Unresponsive 100%. Power button did not work.
Soft reset. Screen got locked up on the orange windows screen, over and over.
Hard reset. Back to 100% original.
I setup a test alarm this morning and it froze everything up on the lock screen again. Soft reset, and I got back into the TF3D interface with the normal alarm popup.
Any ideas?

What ROM do you have? I know the newer WinMo 6.5 auto-lock feature is buggy but are you stock or have you flashed? I've got my alarm set for 7:30am every morning with the "TESS 3.6 WinMo 6.5 HTC sense 2.1" ROM and it works just fine with both soft buttons at the bottom being responsive for "snooze" and "dismiss". Sounds like a buggy ROM because the problem is persistent after you set up the alarm AFTER a hard-reset.
stock att rom!
Well yea the AT&T stock HTC Pure ROM sucks, trust me. If you are willing to flash I say go for it, I use the alarm function daily and really like it - it's a very valuable feature and one reason I do use a cooked ROM. There are also 3rd party alarm programs that have similar or better functionality then the Windows Mobile alarm that may not suffer from the alarm lockout you are experiencing. G/l!
I do not want to flash.
I do not want to install 3rd party alarm clocks.
Neither of these are a fix, they are mud on a band-aid.
Well it was a friendly suggestion that will solve your problem. Mud on a band-aid, I see your point in that the bug should have been smashed before being released as a final product. Only way to fix your issue is to take it to an official bug report forum or form or send your phone in for a new one to see if it was a hardware quirk after all. Since denying perfectly clean solutions that will permanently fix your issue won't get you anywhere there's no reason for me here. Good day and good luck.

Yeah, that's what I said.
Just need to not lock it. Did you have a fix for the rom? Didn't see one above.
read my progress tonight:

Cliff notes:
ATT Tech dept did not want my transferred call, regular rep said that they would only recommend hard/soft resets.
This happens on a fresh hard reset.
I did call HTC to log a ticket, HTC support was great, but they did say that it may take a few calls to get them to verify it.
--------------
If you have a HTC PURE, click my ATT link above and do the tests that I recommend. If you lock your phone and rely on an alarm clock, you might have a phone that is frozen and you could have to hard reset and lose all your contacts.
Please help me by verifying this procedure!
Hello all,
the weirdest thing started happening a few days ago...
first off, let me start off by saying that i am using the default alarm clock. i have already gone throgh the problem of the default alarm clock not going off from time to time... but i seem to have fixed this issue.
so... the other evening i told my girlfriend to lock my legend after she had been using it. the alarm clock was set (i have it set on "daily"). Ok, so morning comes and the alarm clock goes off. Then i realized something was wrong. The phone was turned off. In order to stop the alarm clock I first had to go through the standard procedure of entering the pin code etc. Then once the OS was loaded and all, there was no way to stop the alarm. So I had to shut the phone down again. As frustrating as it was, I though this was my or my girlfriends mistake, as one of us surely had to turn the phone off by mistake before we went to sleep. But this problem keeps on bugging me for the third morning now...
I am positive it's not me... it's the phone.
Has anyone else had the same problem on their legend/android based phone?
If so, does anyone have a solution to it? Before, the alarm clock worked just fine... now, for the last couple of days it seems it has a mind of it's own.
Thanks in advance,
jlasic
Another thing I should have probably mentioned... this happens when i have the phone plugged into the computer via usb cable. dont know if this is of any importance but i thought it would be best to let you guys know.
ps. the darn thing happened again this morning.
hope someone can help me out.
Hey there,
Not sure why it would cause the phone to shutdown, but I recently wondered why my alarm wasn't going off sometimes..it turned out that Task Killer was ending it..dunno if that helps, but thought I'd let you know .
How do I see/delete the alarms that are set without using the regular alarm interface?
I recently I flashed a new ROM and installed a whole bunch of programs, but even though the 3 alarm slots are not set or set for other times, i still get 3 alarms going off from what I had previously set.
control panel, clocks and alarms, alarms
I wouldnt hold out much hope of that working.......
Ive had the same problem in the past 2 months and I cant find a solution, worst part is that it seems to be completely at random.
Scheduled alarm always still works but sometimes I'll get other random alarms, sometimes I wont.
A hard reset / reflash should sort the problem though.......
I´m having exactly the same problem with an alarm I set a few weeks ago set at 23:30 going off every day! I´ve deleted it from alarms and it´s not showing in either the HTC menu or the windows one. It even shows the comment for the alarm I originally entered. I´m on normal ROM and haven´t changed it or installed any apps for ages - the problem just started. Also got this annoying time skipping 1 hour forward since the clocks changed, mines gone up to 5 hours ahead!! Damn my HD2 is annoying me at the moment!
