So I down loaded this Amber\GR2 update or whatever it's called; the only feature that I liked doesn't work!! Numbers that I've blocked still come through WTF? When I go to block the number it tells me that that number is already blocked.
Its a work in progress and having used many android ones its no worse than many of them. Give it time, the best blocked I found for androids was from the muiu roms and sadly not downloadable separate of the roms. The fact there at least trying to include the feature into the base os is good news.

Nope it's not working I just got a call and a voice mail from a supposed blocked number. WTH I'm on a Lumina 822 (Verizon) Any on here have a Lumina 822 with this issue?
Have you gone in and see if the number shows up in the list of blocked numbers? Also, if you haven't launched the "app" where this list is, it will not work. The first time you do you have to accept an agreement for this function.
I have the 822 but haven't really checked to see if it is functioning; let me check.
Just tried it on my Unlocked Lumia 920 an it works just fine. The blocked calls can be looked up inside the application then.
Apparently, only ppl on Verizon have problems with this app, as Verizon prefer to receive money in order to block calls through their service, instead of allowing a free app from Nokia to do this.
Damn; I am on Verizon and, of course, this does NOT work. I looked at other forums (Nokia, Verizon, WPCentral) and it is definitely an issue and everyone having it is on Verizon....WTF????
I tried to find an email address I could send a note to at Verizon and I could not find one their website. They do have a number and I plan to call tomorrow when they are open.
Well, spent time on the phone with VZW support today and also came across this (read post 45). It looks like a SW bug between Nokia's Filter app and VZW phone numbers. SMS works.

TEAM,
I have been looking for answering machine for my HTC, Imate unfortunately I never come across this. I any one in the forum or developer of software for mobile can develop this or is it not possible. We have many software in market and many developer but I don't see why is not been develop.
Looking forward your comments and wishing every one in this forum
Happy New Year and All The best
It's called voice mail and it comes with pretty much every phone plan on earth. That's why there's no development for such a product - there is no need for it.

answering machine isnt like voicemail, with answering machine you could listen to the caller leaving a message, just as you would on a home answering machine, then pick up if you wanted, I had that option in my old sprint flip phone sanyo 4500.

Yeah and with every phone plan on earth, it is very restricted unless you are willing to pay a fortune to the provider.

Restricted how? I have AT&T and VM is included for free. I can check it from anywhere very easily. It does exactly what I want it to do.
with htc there seem to be a pretty steap deviding between pda and phone when it comes to speakers
do a search for requests for recording conversations
do a search for answering machine
do a search for getting the "phone" speaker to work with skype and other VOIP
it seem to be a hardware design issue

Canada for instance, don't know about other countries, you either pay $7-10 for three VMs or pay 15 or more for a few more, so no it is not always included in the plan.

Unlike other countries where little competion exists but carriers are intent on providing the maximum services, Canadian providers are exceptionally greedy. They've got the cash cow all to themselves and milking every last drop out of it. Hopefully this will change soon...

Unfortunately not all countries are built the same (mind you prices have gone down - but still not included), all providers in Canada are about the same, see below:

just a heads up and fyi for nfl fans.. i've been waiting a long time for this on WM devices, usually only for the older phones.

Not available on Titan?
I tried downloading the NFL Mobile Live app that released today and got an error message saying "NFL Mobile Live is not currently supported on this
device". I tried to get more information from a tech support agent - not much help there - she said that the feature will not be available on the
Titan/Mogul. Kind of hoping this is incorrect because I was really looking forward to this app ... anyone have better luck or more accurate info on this?
I tried too, no luck. I sent a text message to 7777, received the link to the application, clicked it, and got an error message that said "We're sorry, NFL Mobile Live is not currently supported on this device". Tried going through the Digital Lounge on Sprint.com too, to no avail.
Yea, I tried as well and got the same results. This is dumb.
yeah i've been researching and looks like all WM users and bb users are pissed this isn't available yet. looking from the demo they have up on their site this app runs on java... so release it already sprint!!
I've been following this for days. Don't pay attention to what the Sprint reps say about it, they know NOTHING.
It just because available for BlackBerry Curve users this morning. This is confirmed, yet if you ask a Sprint rep, they say it's not available for that either.
What bothers me is that right now, if you go to purchase a new phone from sprint.com, the #1 feature listed for the Mogul is "NFL Mobile Live".
and now they've removed NFL Mobile Live from the Mogul. Which means every single phone on Sprint supports it except WM phones.
Real nice.
I'm still not completely discouraged by the fact that it isnt listed as available for the Mogul since Sprint TV isnt listed there either and it works just fine.
The real test will be to see if someone can get their hands on the application and see if it'll work as is or if someone here can work some magic and
get it to work ...
UPDATE:
found the .JAD file for the blackberry - I couldnt get it to work but here is the link to that file in case anyone can figure something out

Is it time for another online petition? i think it's pretty lame that we paid so much for this phone and don't even get what the budget phone purchasers are getting (Instink) and (BBW Curve). It's getting pretty old pretty fast.
Supposedly it will be released for the Mogul very soon. A version for the Centro was just released.
That's pretty stupid that they have those commercials with the phone like a football stadium and they don't even have it working.
I don't have Sprint, but I was able to get the cab file for the 2007 version to work. I hope they come out with a cab file for the new one.
Thats the best part, not only are the advertising it up the ass and it doesn't work yet, its week 3! maybe this can be fully up and working by the Superbowl? Not like they didnt know the season was starting
They just sent me a text saying it's ready. It's not.
It is. From your phone's browser go to:
http://softwarestore.sprint.com/wap/NFLmobile.php
do you have to have a Sprint phone for this to work? It says free with dataplan.
It's a Sprint program running on the Sprint network so I'd imagine you'd need a Sprint phone. But I do remember a while back a few people on Verizon got a hacked version of Sprint TV to work on their phones so maybe someone will get it to work for other carriers.

It's working fine on my Mogul.
It works fine on my Mogul as well. Downloaded the NFL.cab link yesterday and have been draining my battery ever since!
i also install it on my mogul, but the only thing that bugs me is how slow it is, other than that perfect!
3 (UK) have just announced they are to start selling the HTC Hero, which will be bundled with 2 free years of Spotify premium.
More info here: http://www.three.co.uk/Internet_Services/Spotify
This is good news for me as I'm a 3 customer on an unlocked Hero. Hopefully we'll get the 3 skype application on android too!
Sorry if this has been posted elsewhere or is old news :S
Yeah I was about to post this too! Hopefully we should get the Skype app for our Heros as well! But let's hope 3 does allow us to use Skype as they would on their own Hero handset. You never know.
@cambria83 and @ alphabanker
Just in case if you are not aware, I and possibly some more users are already using Skype on 3 network as we would on 3's "skype compatible" phones.
There is a thread within Dream Application or search for iskoot for skype

As a matter of interest, why use iSkoot instead of Skype Lite? Neither are "true" VOIP products, and I presume that neither is able to take advantage of 3's free "Skype to Skype"?

Damn, beat me to report this news!
Its certainly good news and according to http://www.computerweekly.com/Articles/2009/10/20/238204/unlimited-spotify-music-on-3s-htc-hero-handset.htm it says that the package includes "free skype-to-skype calls" -- I guess a working "iSkoot" (or something similar) is coming out for android!
@foxmeister, you are right that neither is a true VOIP software, but iSkoot calls a special voice number to give you free skype-to-skype calls (but at the moment, iSkoot isn't calling that special number!)

I use Sipdroid for Sip calls and "iskoot for skype" for skype calls. iSkoot for Skype works like normal skype for mobile and can make or receive calls from online skype contacts using data.
Yes, I must say that iSkoot for Skype as is, will use your minutes or credits so for most people it is not a viable solution but for those who are 3 PAYG or contract users can use it for free but the solution is a workround as mentioned in the "iskoot for skype" thread in Dream application section.
@tweedie, It works just like users have it on Nokias! But to push that .xml file the handset has to be rooted.
Edit: I just had a brief conversation with a 3 CS and was informed that Skype will be available, I have no idea if he was just assuming or advising me from the specs he might be quoting.

I had Sipdroid up and running "direct" on my G1 with my Vonage softphone account, but with the Hero it seems to register ok (indicator "led" goes green) and after about 10 seconds yellow disconnects and registers again. It does this continually making it unusable at present.

Hi,
Yes with pbxes.org I tried with voxalot where I has 4 or 5 sip providers registered but voxalot wont work on sipdroid. Only one way audio.
It seems to work fine with pbxes. Mine is a free account I dont mind becoming a paid user but than I will expect them to deliver.
Skype is something new in latest sipdroid application but as far as I know no one has configured yet! There are some questions at the parent website sipdroid.org and click on users discussions.
Its amazing that no one from the core team led by Pascal has replied or offered any help.
On a sideline, Fring may be launching their client soon and could be followed by Nimbuzz and perhaps Octrotalk.

Yeah the price would put me off too! I'd be tempted by the monthly price if I didn't have to pay for the phone as well. I guess the price sort of covers the free spotify anyway!
I am due an upgrade on 3 at the moment, but I already bought a Hero and don't really know what to do.
I hope its possible that if you already on a 3 network, got a htc hero with premuim spotify account, then free download of music without it using your internet allowance would be do-able.
Guys, Im really struggling here....
I bought an unlocked HTC Hero a few weeks before 3 announced their package...
I'm not getting my head around the iSkoot workaround. I understand why I need to do it, to allow my handset to dial over the 3 network to the "magic" 3 mobile to allow a virtual sykpe to skype conversation, but I can't understand how to achieve it. I'd rather not root just now and there was a glimmer of hope in this thread mentioning that it was not necessary.
If anyone can help, it would be great and would make our wedding (on 1/10/10 does anyone else see the binary joke?!) next year easier to plan as we live in different countries right now.
Any help/suggestions would be gratefully received - feel free to PM.
Thanks
No need for iskoot stuff. Look on the market for 'skype for 3'. It's a proper Skype software for the 3 network
Don't get the joke. Isn't that binary for 1/2/2 which that date has gone?

It's not really 'free' - both Orange and T-Mobile will do the Hero free on a £25 contract, and Spotify is £10 a month.
By sticking with T-Mo, I've saved the £100 upfront price of the phone, and I can cancel my Spotify at any time if I don't like it and just pay my basic £25 talk/text/internet fee. Oh, and I've been with 3 twice now since they started and their service is abysmal

Is that a sprint or marshmallow thing? Well, now that I think of it, my old phone was rooted and I was running roms on them. So perhaps it was something was always built into the roms I was using. Still, seems like a really simple, yet effective feature. Don't understand why sprint or google doesn't include that feature.

I use Extreme call blocker & it works wonders. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.greythinker.punchback
I use to use root call blocker on my M9 which was amazing till the mm update which broke it.
However this app is just as good and no root required. Doesn't affect battery life and it just does it's job and stays out of the way. It's not free but that's a good thing in my eyes, no ads and support got back to me lightning quick if you have an issue but I can confirm it works wonderful on this phone. There is a slight delay when a junk call comes in so phone might go off for a second but I'm guessing this is due to no root access but it's still pretty quick and will keep your call logs clean. Mine is setup to block all calls unless you are in my contacts and other calls get sent to voicemail so if it's important they can leave a message.

The SIM actually comes out in this if you take it apart enough. You can replace with any SIM of your choosing. The real problem is that the phone is limited on bands as it is just LTE band 13. Let's say you succeeded in adding bands, you would still have an issue entering APN settings as this menu is restricted.
Without root you cannot add any bands. i did this with my tmobile lg g3 back in the day. while complicated it did work.
Has anyone rooted this watch?
Adding bands to qualcomm you must patch rmt-storage or any modifications to the bands will revert
then you have to enable APN menu as adding new APN is disabled on this firmware.
Since this watch was available at $80, a lot of people jump in to get one. Hopefully with time we get more developers to be involve. I'm looking to replace the bands. As of now I don't care about LATE. But I wish we can enable NFC for Android pay
