Did you wipe everything (data, cache, dalvik, system 2-3 times) when flash your ROM?
Do you use custom kernel for your ROM?
I install Dolphin on Carbon 4.2.2 (CM10.1 base) and have not any freezing..

Try wiping the browser data under Settings -> Applications -> Browser -> Wipe. Did you system wipe your phone before flashing IG? I wiped mine clean going from Stock -> IG and have not seen this issue yet.
Install Flash 10 from Market. Known issue.

You missed a critical step. You MUST do this to correctly install the ROM. It its performed with Clockwork Recovery. Wipe and install once more.

You can either system reset under your settings menu (dig around, phone not with me atm, I promise it's there) or reboot into recovery and choose to system wipe via Clockwork.
What's going on guys? I've had my Play for a while and for the most part I love it...def could be faster but thats ok.
So, the problem. I'm rooted, but stock rom and kernel. I was using go launcher, go sms and have alot of apps, a 32gb sd card thats almost full. I installed go locker a couple nights ago and it was running great. Then, the next day, I have no clue if it relates to go locker...but now my phone is like on life support or something!
75% of apps force close upon opening, the phone is deathly slow if it doesnt close...like I'll open up "settings" and it will either FC or take 2 minutes to load up...then it loads and I click something and it FCs. SOMETIMES an app will open fine, play fine. Like muffin knight, sometimes it opens and plays 100%. other times it instantly FCs over and over. Every single app no matter how complex is subject to the same problems in the same way.
I honestly have no clue wtf is wrong. It feels analgous to a computer virus. Everything is bogged and broken. I tried cleaning my phone. I uninstalled every launcher and theme app, and then uninstalled about a dozen apps I dont use alot. I left mself with the bare minumum....Id then open the "messaging" app and it would crawl open to greet me with a force close. It doesnt seem to be a problem with any specific app.
I checked battery use....very normal stuff. I don't know whats going on!! but my phone barely works....someone will call and it will take 10 seconds for me to be able to slide the slider and accept the call...
Anyone have any direction for me? I don't want to flash any kernels or roms yet (waiting for 100% stability) and I'm busy right now w tests and I just want my phone back to how it was a few days ago. I'm using adw launcher now and its the same as with the go launcher or without anything....slow, force closes everywhere, hang ups everywhere...
thanks SO much for any help from anybody...I really appreciate it.

r800x, unlocked bootloader through hardfix with Alejandrissimo....and most current Verizon firmware so 2.3.4 (right?)
since I rooted it I haven't messed it with it much, just took the liberty of using apps like root explorer and stuff

I don't think I do....I'm really noob when it comes to the in depth rooting stuff but I don't even think I have a nandroid backup...
I can boot to that orange screen and I did save my state when I initially rooted...
How do I clear the caches for that stuff? Davlik, can that be done thru titanium backup?
and what about the other cache? How do I see if I have clockword recovery? (I never intentionally installed it so I don't think I have it?)
Okay so I wiped the davlik cache (like 24mb) thru titanium backup....and then I reinstalled the market (one of the more troublesome apps to open)...and then rebooted.
Tried opening a few apps in succession upon boot, and for the first time ever the phone froze and rebooted itself!
What the hell is going on?? Lol my phone was fine a few days ago and now its just insufferable!!
Any more ideas as to whats going on?
I never dled clockwork mod so I don't think I can wipe that cache?
Deleting dalvik-cache via Titanium Backup only deletes "unneeded" caches. You need to delete every dalvik-cache by going into data/dalvik-cache and deleting every file in it. Then reboot, which will rebuild the caches (first boot will take a while)

I deleted every file in the davlik cache folder...rebooted.
No change. Takes 10 seconds to open the phone...everything is slow/force closing.
Sigh. My phone is possessed and/or dying.
Then I suggest backing up your user-apps (if still possible) and doing a factory reset
Do a nandroid backup, then factory reset. Then install apps one by one testing for stability after each. If an app is causing problems that will identify it. Or provide us with a list of your apps and we could help determine if one of them may be the culprit.

I assume you paid to unlock the bootloader (reset does nothing to this). Root is much more easily obtained

It won't. factory rest doesn't wrote the system partition where root is located.
Factory reset.
Please dont be scared of losing root, just use the search bar and type in doomlord zergrush. His script has to be the easiest most automated way to get root on any xeria firmware ever

Ever since flashing the Mostly Stock pre-rooted ROM HBO GO will force close every single time as the app's video player starts up after the little logo animation/music. I can sign in successfully and browse the content/add to playlist but that's it. I tried to restore the app and login first using MyBackupRoot but that didn't work (gave me an error about failing to initialize the player) so I tried it from scratch, even clearing the data from the app several times. Has anyone gotten it to work right and could anyone suggest something else to try?

What kernel are you running? I'm running the "MostlyStock Rebuild" by xBTx and my HBO Go failed on Nubernel and Earthbound v1 kernels. Running Earthbound's v2 and above, as well as bbelos' kernels gave me my HBO Go back.

I suspected the kernel might be the culprit (Nubernel .1). OK, next question:
As long as cache and Dalvik are wiped, is a kernel flash through CWM usually safe and not requiring of a total reinstall of everything?

I've never had a problem. Although too much flashing might leave residuals of previous kernel info (according to some conversations in Earthbound's thread), so he suggests a full Odin and reinstall of apps (not via Recovery but Titanium) just to make sure.

Ha. I'm not quite that confident. And a full nandroid backup, would it preserve the former kernel as well?

Yes. Use CWM 5.0.2.7. This preserves kernel. I do backup weekly so that gives me extra confidence to just flash.
Now running Mostly Stock Rebuild with Shadow Kernel 1.0.2. This issue is fixed and overall so far so good. Now to see how it behaves over time.
Hey all,
Well title pretty much says it all, whenever I try install any CM9 based roms they always freeze while booting.
CM7 roms install and work fine but I would prefer to install a CM9 rom.
Am I missing something?
Does anyone have any thoughts on why this is happening?
I am wiping dalvik, cache and data.
Thanks
Try adding "Factory reset" to that list and flash this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1563137
If it works fine, try another (prior wiping caches + factory reset...)

Wipe dalvik, cache, factory reset
Then go to mounts, format everything there except for your SD card (this is from memory just doing it once on the KF so don't wipe anything else that might be important).
THEN instill the rom.

I have the same problem too, all the ics roms do not work except for the one stated in this thread previously and the Hellfire ics rom.
It gets stuck at the boot screen.. I have tried wiping everything including sdcard..
And also, my kindle hangs frequently when running 3d games and I have to hold the power button to force shutdown it..
Is it a problem with the kernel?
The notifications button at the bottom right corner is also very unresponsive, I have to press it several times to open the menu..

I second this. Redownload the file. This is only if you've formatted EVERYTHING as previously stated.
Just curious, what recovery are you guys using? If you're not on CWM I'd switch over and give it a go. Maybe you're getting improper wipes.
how long are you guys waiting till you say its freezing most roms while booting up for the first time the boot animation isnt long enough for the installation process and will stop but if you wait a few min it will boot right up... that first boot is when it builds its cache and davlik cache so it takes some time

Its not that I'm not waiting long enough for the boot animation or anything. For example it will load up some the first time and get all the way past the spinning circle on the CM9 boot animation and get stuck on the "verifying apps" screen. Other times that i try to boot it it will get stuck with just the little android and the circle around him, not even 2 full seconds into the boot animation.
The "Verifying apps" afaik should not be showing up on a fresh install. That only happens to me when I upgrade to a comparable rom I.e. one cm9 rom to another cm9 rom. Correct me if I'm wrong but what that sounds like is the os is choking on some left over apps.

Well this goes round in circles !
Anyway, I just logged on to report the same thing happening. I have been using the ICS+ browser and its been great, the odd occasion when it would shut down but now both it and the stock browser close after a few seconds of browsing.
Note this is not a force close, the browser just disappears with no warning. I have done all the usual, clear cache, reinstall etc, even uninstalled Flash but no change.
This started happening a few days ago.
Running stock ICS on A500, all vanilla.
Any clues?

Apart from unlocking the bootloader and flashing a custom rom, theres not alot u can do its an issue with the stock rom,
Ive found opera mini to have the least problems....if u have beenfactory stock since HC then yr tab could probably do
with a fresh clean install. The OTA updates just install over the top of yr existing installation....i found installing a fresh ics
and full wipe and format did help somewhat, but never fully addressed the browser problems i had...

There are plenty of guides around, all pretty much idiot-proof as long as u can read and follow the steps as written...the drivers are the biggest issue as long as the Acer ones and Google ones are installed u should be all good. If u flash a stock rom u will need root access first - for custom roms this isn't necessary.
Unlocking the bootloader will also flash cwm at thesame time. You'll need yr HC cpuid ax well...check my cpuid guide in sig, lots of useful info in there....good luck?

The only thing that helpped me was clearing browsers cache. After that browser stopped crashing.
On the other hand chrome makes my tablet restart it selfe or stop rendering as soon as I open 2 tabs or more.
