So I just successfully rooted my Aria, but that's all I've done...I'm kind of overwhelmed here and have no idea what to do. So what's next?
Also, for some reason my phone is saying: "Low on space; Phone storage space is getting low." and it wants me to delete apps i've downloaded. Is there a way to fix this since i rooted?
Just flash a rom and you should get all the blotware out
sent from my HTC Intruder
Yeah flash a custom rom..and also make sure you have apps to SD enabled and have a partion made on SD to save them there..this will delete everything on SD so back it up first. Try flashing cyanogen 6.1.1 ...its awesome!

I'll agree with installing cm 6.1.1 it's awesome! Also get setcpu, not just for OCing but great four power saving!

Alright, you have two choices, the CM 6.1.1 ROM or the FR008 HTC Sense liberated ROM.
CM 6.1.1 is better battery, but doesn't have htc sense. Looks more like stock android.
You can overclock on both.
CM6.1.1 seems to be faster to me.

CM 6.1.1 : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=819715
Read up on them, and download one of them. Plug your phone into your computer and mount usb storage. Move the .zip to your sd card.
Turn of your phone, and then turn it on by holding the power button and the volume down button. Go to wipe data / factory reset, and do that. Also go to advanced > wipe dalvik cache. Also wipe the cache partition if you want to.
Go to install zip from sd card and find the .zip file.
If you have apps you want to back up, download an app called ASTRO before you start. Once installed, press menu, then select tools, and go to app manager / backup and backup the apps

Disconnect before booting to clockwork.
thanks everybody. the advice here has been very useful. I'm now on Cyanogen 6.1.1. Got everything setup and almost back to the way I had it before. I also solved my phone memory problem by moving all apps to SD and setting app download location to SD as well.
again, thanks all. and I'm still pretty new to this so I'm always open to suggestions.
EDIT: I can't open browser or messaging threads now...i keep having to force close it. Please help!

The flashing instructions are that you do a nandroid backup, wipe data, wipe dalvik cahce, and then flash the rom. Sooooo... Just boot into clockwork and follow the flashing instructions again. Be sure that you wipe data... this really is important.
okay i booted to clockwork, wiped data, and clicked the wipe dalvik cache. didn't nandroid because already did that right after i rooted. when i clicked wipe dalvik cache, it didn't seem do do anything...no graphical response like with the factory reset. then i installed the zip files for cyanogen mod and google apps. booted up and restored all my apps. browser still doesnt work and i haven't tested the text message thread view because i have no messages...
i got the roms from the big thread of roms on this site...
please help...
UPDATE: The messaging app works fine for now. The defualt browser still doesn't work right. It says "The application Browser (process com.android.browser) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again." I just downloaded Skyfire, so it's not too big of a deal. As far as I can tell everything is working fine, but I'd still like to figure out what the problem is.
EDIT: It's now doing the same thing with with Google Framework, and doesn't remember my contacts or call log that i put in JUST this morning. And messaging is just like it was before. This was after I turned the phone off and rebooted later.
Sounds like you did everything right...try deleteding that file from SD and redownloading it..flash straight from SD ...make sure you follow all above steps again and make sure your not plugged in to USB ...other than that I see no reason browser wouldn't work...

I guess you already know steps but just you to be sure;
- Re download zip
- place it in your SD card with usb
- unplug usb cable and boot into recovery
- wipe data
- wipe dalvik cache
- flash rom (be sure that you still unplugged usb cable)
- boot
P.S: Or just try another rom to see if its working fine?

Do I need to install a new ROM before using applications like "ROM Manager", Busybox or "Titanium Backup * root"?
Thanks.

No, once you are rooted you can install and use apps that require 'root' access like ROM Manager, Titanium Backup, etc.
How do you do flash the ROM every day and not loose all your settings, apps, etc. and have to re-download and reset everything again?
Or do you not loose all this when you download new nightly builds of CM7?
I never understood this either. Either you can flash over the previous 'nightly' and that preserves the settings and apps or they do a titanium backup of the apps and settings and flash that back on after doing a wipe. Don't know for sure tho.
The nightlys are too bleeding edge for me tho, tend to stick with a stable rom until cyanogen releases a fully compiled version.
I flash nightlies nightly. All you do is flash over the old one and everythings still there.
So you don't do a wipe in Rom Manager before you flash?

1) download update and put on SD card
2) enter recovery
3) Wipe cache/dalvik cache (notice. Don't wipe data. this is how you keep your apps/preferences/etc.)
4) Apply nightly update .zip
4a) If you're running a launcher mod (other than ADW) you can go to reboot recovery then flash the launcher mod as well to save your homescreens.
5) Reboot.
I don't even do that. Just flash straight from ROM Manager. I also don't backup before every update either. Think my current backup is nightly 15.

But, the very first time you installed a ROM you had to wipe everything?
It's just the updates where you don't need to wipe, right?
Yeah, you only need to wipe when going to a new version of android, eg 2.2 to 2.3

If goggle "what is dalvik cache", you'll probably get back to an xda thread, except that the first reply tells you to go google it, lol. Don't worry, though, cyanogen gives a pretty good summary of what it is in that thread a few posts down.
Hello guys.
I would really appreciate an answer to a question I have.
I installed leedroid 3.0.2 and I have the same apps and settings as before.
I think I haven't done a good wipe..
I rebooted to recovery from cwm and used the wipe before I installed the new Rom. (i was using the revolution 3.5 before)
After I installed the new Rom, when I booted on, all apps and settings were there.
Shouldn't the wipe thing clean everything and leave the phone "empty"?
Or, (most obvious) did I do something wrong and should do it again? Cause there is a little thing with the market that closes the process when I click on new released apps.
Thank you in advance guys.
Cheers !!!

Are you wiping data and cache in recovery?
"wipe data/factory reset"
It will then say:
Code:
-- Wiping data...
Formatting /data...
Formatting /cache...
Formatting /sd-ext...
Formatting /sdcard/.android_secure...
Data wipe complete.
Then:
"wipe cache partition"
It will say:
Code:
-- Wiping cache...
Formatting /cache...
Cache wipe complete
(second option is overkill)
Have you still got the setting to backup to Google servers ticked? Or any other app that you have backed things up with?
Whilst the last option wouldn't be instant (they would download again and take a good 5 minutes to appear).
And yes, you will probably experience issues if this is due to a missed wipe.
So, I will need to do a factory reset first, then do a cache wipe and then install the Rom?
(i don't remember doing all these for the revo Rom..)
Do I need to do these without rebooting the phone until everything is done?
Cheers !!!

Yes, you should always do the "wipe data/factory reset" before installing any new ROMs or if the dev has advised it, also between major update revisions.
You don't need to reboot. If using recovery to install the ROM just do the wipes then flash the ROM using menu.
Awesome. Thanks for the help.
Will try it now and I hope everything goes well. Hope I won't get stuck since am not in front of my pc.

Well, I did it again. Everything wiped out, started as new.
But still, new apps in market and battery history in spare parts give me a process termination...
Oh well, I guess that Lee will release an update.
Oh, something else I would like to ask. There is a new kernel for the Rom. Do I flash it the same way I flash everything? Through recovery?
Thanks again guys
Cheers !!!
Sent from my LeeDroid 3.0.2 Enhanced Desire HD
I use Leedroid and don't have this problem. Today I have installed from scratch and gone back and forth between ROM's. i turned off all the processes that backup and restore apps and I get a blank fresh install.
I have to ask, the last time you installed Leedroid, did you use the downloaded one or a copy from your sdcard? is it possible you are restoring a copy rather than flashing a fresh copy?
And you don't have any apps that have backed up your apps such as Titanium? And you have turned off Google Backup and restore feature?
The thing is, it is handy not to lose data but we need to make sure your wipe is being done. Did you see the same messages in Recovery as I showed above?
gosh, it is sooooooooooooo weird...
i did it all again. factory reset, delete cache, installed the 3.0.3 version (which was released today).
everything seemed to go smooth. still, i went to market and clicking on the newly released apps list i get an error which is "com.android.vewnding" has been shut blah blah blah. and the same happens to spare parts. when i click battery history ""com.android.spare_parts" shuts down.
do you guys think it has to do with the kernel? should i flash lee's kernel (i couldn't find how to. i mean, shall i do it from the cwm recovery?)
i guess that the radio has nothing to do with all these, does it?...
thank you guys once again for your help
Cheers !!!

You have tried fix permissions in ROM Manager, yes?
eeeeeeeeeerm.... you got me. that is something i totally forgot to do :-(((
gosh.. i flashed the radio, sweet. tried to flash a kernel using jkoljo's tool and it stayed on the white screen (and of course cold sweat was all over the place )
but i flashed the rom again after clearing cache and the likes and (thank god) i'm in.
but the most weird thing is that, after all these, the kernel is flashed :-S
i checked in the phone info and the kernel is there..
anyway, am gonna do the fix permissions thingy and reflash once more. if it stays the same way, i'll have to live with it. it's late here in greece.
thanks again for your help guys, i really appreciate it )))
Cheers !!!
i did it all again but nothing happened.
did the permissions, rebooted to recovery, factory reset, cache wipe, install new rom and nothing.
i have to tell you guys though.. the problem with the market started when i was on the revolution rom. and it started just like that. one day everything was fine, next, bam. it didn't budge.
do you think there might be something wrong with the phone itself? (probably not and i'm paranoid)
other than that, everything works nice.
oh, and some other thing. there is this "full wipe 1.3" zip i had put in my SD card but never really used it.
should i use it this time?
this app should clean everything in the cache but not my files, right?
Cheers !!!
YouTube clip of how to manually full wipe everything.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fCwr6Ru0yko
When using this method I've never had a problem.
Sent from my HTC Desire HD using XDA App
I did the wipe as shown in the video. The problem remains the same. New market apps list gives an error followed by a restart of it and spare parts battery history does the same (without the restart though)
I don't know, I'm thinking of trying a different Rom even though I like the one Lee released.
(could all this mean that I have a problem with the phone?.......)
Anyway, thank you guys for spending time helping me.
Cheers !!!
Haven't done a restore via rom manager yet, but I'm thinking of restoring back to cm7 from evil's virtuous sense 3.0 rom. Great rom, but I'm having issues with the widgets and data...
Anyway - so I don't have to manually wipe anything? Just select "restore" from rom manager, and it'll do the rest? How about kernels? I'm running faux's GB sense kernel, which obviously wouldn't work with cm7...so would the rom manager 'restore' also revert to the old kernel? Thx for any tips!

Boot into recovery > wipe/factory wipe > backup/restore > restore > wait > reboot system.
it will replace EVERYTHING [but the radio] to the point where you took the snap shot of that ROM.

Thx, so you suggest just doing it straight through recovery as opposed to the app's "restore" option...? I was just curious if doing it that way streamlined the process, not that it's hard to begin with lol.

It's one and the same. The App will run a script that will jump start the process. But i prefer doing it directly from the Recovery image.I just like making sure everything gets done.
I always just restore straight from the app. I've never had any problems with it. I recommend it because it's easy
Boot into recovery wipe data is always the wise way as neidlinger said that's the best way to make sure everything is done . I change my rom very often and that's how i do it and i never had any problems .
no service
Ack! Saved me from a new post... (hopefully)
I get no service after restoring to royalginger from sense 3.0! Phone just gets really hot and attempting to view networks results in an error!
wipe and reflash yielded the same result.
I did a factory restore to see if it had the problem, no.. I had service!
Anyone help? I did run fix permissions.. no difference
Gonna try reflashing radio real quick..
Update.. It resolved itself. It had the characteristics of being stuck in wifi calling mode. Once back on my network, it connected, and from then on i was able to connect to the mobile network without issue.

Hi
After i did root for my phone (g360h) it becomes too slow with alot of delays
i've tried to remove the root and re-flashed the stock ROM (with wipe everything) many times but that doesnt work with me and it still slowest than worst phone ever
Any Suggest !
Your phone's slow speed has nothing to do with root. It's maybe because of a particular app, such as Facebook, which is a super memeory hog for a phone with 952MB RAM.
Try "L speed" app to optimize the phone. As you already tried wiping and installing stock ROM.

The problem is after the hard reset (wipe everything) and on the first boot it runs super slow without installing any program
and i've tried alot of stock ROMs but that does not work !!
my phone become too slow after installing Xposed and some modules
i tried to installed multiple stock roms and from first boot its too slow(like keyboard, black screeen in apps , etc)
i do this and my phone is now good with root and few apps so you can try! :
1. download Triangle Away paid version from internet and reset the flash counter
2. go to twrp and make (data, system, dalvik and cache wipe) make sure that second option in setting(use rm instead of formating) is not checked and wait about 15-20 minutes untill wipe finished
3. flash latest frimware for your country or any one (G360HDDUAPA3 the latest!)
