I have read that Visual Voicemail in the UK is only working on O2 for the Windows Phones. Can anyone comment? I would love to use giffgaff since I will be traveling back and forth to the States.

I'm wondering if anyone can tell me if the N1's visual voicemail will be compatable with at&t's visual voicemail, like the iphone. I currently have a touch pro and have to jump through hoops to get my voicemail visual style, and even then it's through youmail, and my email, so not very pretty.
First, you could have discussed this in the other VVM thread going on right now. Second, N1 doesn't have its own VVM. If you're referring to Google Voice, it works on all carriers.
sorry didn't see the other one. must have looked right over it. what I meant though is, will the visual voicemail that at&t uses, like for the iphone, also work with the N1 or do you need to be with tmobile.

AT&T has not released a visual VM app for Android yet, so no. But you should just use Google Voice anyway. It stomps carrier voicemail, and it will transcribe your messages for you so you can read them. (and the voicemail is not even the main service of GV)
I can't get it to work. It keeps telling me it can't change my carrier settings (at&t)

What exactly do you do for it to give you that error?
Has anyone been able to get the Visual Voicemail system working with the Mango Release on t-mobile USA?

I see a voicemail pane in the Phone hub. It downloaded my voicemail to the phone after i setup. Is this what you are refering or like textual interpretation?
Yeah mine dosent work...odd
** EDIT **
Called 611 and activated Visual Voicemail on their end. Waited about 5 minutes and now it works
After recently switching to cricket from sprint (to save money) I managed to transfer all the apps I wanted to keep except for my beloved visual voicemail.
the Sprint visual voicemail did not work on cricket.
So I am wondering, does anyone have or know if there IS a VVM app for cricket?? i have the lg optimus c
Most of your prepaid carriers like Cricket and Virgin dont offer visual voicemail.
Google voice works, just choose a gv # with same area code
Now that I have 7720 Mango on my HD2, I'm trying to get Visual Voicemail to sync on TMOUS. I know that people with HD7s have it working on TMOUS, but it doesn't seem to work for me on my HD2.
I have the VV service activated with the carrier. It came free when I first bought the HD2 and it worked fine when I was running WM6.5. Then I upgraded to WP7 7004, but without the OS support, it just came through as a SMS. Now that I have 7720, I don't get the SMSs anymore.
I assume that's how VV works... It sends an SMS with a particular code, which the OS or VV app intercepts and interprets, but early builds of WP7 didn't intercept it, hence the message in my inbox.
Anyway, do different OSs use different codes when sending these SMSs? Do I need to contact TMO and tell them that I have an HD7 so that they then send the correct type of SMS?
<Bump>
Has anyone been able to get Visual Voicemail working on ANY carrier??
MANY THANKS TO oakleymandave, who PMed me the solution which he found on T-Mobile's Forum

without the quotes and it should work. worked for me

Apparently sending a text to 122 actually changes a registry setting rather than sending a message. It worked instantly.
Help VVM ORANGE
Sorry, it's 21101 for orange in france and "STATE"...
Don't work for me, vvm djerman work fine, so what's going on with orange ? why did they tel us that it's not activate and since today many hd7 owner clams it work !?
----------------
Hi Guys !
Since today in france it seems like hd7 owner (branded htc) have the visual voicemail working but the operator clams that it's not activated.....
So, I have a HD2 MANGO, with operator package, do you think, there is a workaround like your fix ?
I contacted TMO US and asked to enable VV. No questions asked about phone model. You can also enable online, but it appeared to be changing my monthly fee even though the option is free.
Enabled it in Settings > Applications > Phone and it was working immediately.
When I read a message it's directly on speaker, no way to listen it normally
Is someone has the same problem?
Everything work fine for me.
HTC HD2 ORANGE, WITH MANGO UP TO DATE...
I am on virgin in uk my calls do not forward to voicemail when i dont answer the phone just says not available.
If i put call forwarding on it automatically puts every call straight to voicemail how can i change this so my voicemail works normally.
Cheers
now if we only had tethering we'd be jammin' !
Can someone comment on whether visual voicemail works outside of the T-Mobile Visual Voicemail app IF I DISABLE the T-Mobile Visual Voicemail app (using package disabler)?
I noticed the Samsung phone app has visual voicemail, is it going to work if I disable the Tmo app?
Thanks!
I figured it out after about an hour of testing.
The stock Samsung phone app's Visual Voicemail works fine, so it's perfectly safe to delete Tmo's voicemail app. BUT BUT BUT BUT BUT you have to first open Tmo's app, allow everything, and get it all set up (e.g. get past everything so that you're able to listen to an actual voicemail). Probably load one voicemail just to be safe. Then it's OK to delete the app and just rely on the Visual Voicemail and notification functionality of Samsung's stock phone app.
Turns out that's wrong and it's still a cluster****. It worked, but if you restart the phone it's broken again. If anyone figures it out please leave a reply as this thread will likely be viewed by people over the next year or so.
The Samsung ROM has visual voicemail built in, and it's specifically Tmo's visual voicemail functionality on this Tmo variant model. So it should do visual voicemail fine without the branded T-Mobile Visual Voicemail app which is so non-necessary that it even lets you uninstall it.
only v voice mail that i have is t mobile v voice mail. i don't have any other additional apps for v voice mail. Why do you want to remove t mobile version?
I'm on TMobile and I got TMobile's variant of the S8 Plus. When I press the VM button in the dialer, it just calls the VM number. What does your Samsung ROM VVM look like? Are you on TMobile's variant?
Is it possible to use the native Samsung dialer visual voicemail or not? I take it not possible like it is on ATT?
