I purchased a G1 from craigslist. Turned out it was an ADP device. I updated the recovery image, updated to Haykuro SPL, and Cyanogen ROM.
Everything worked except that SMS messages would not send... (I didn't try MMS messages).
I checked and double checked everything. ON another forum I found advice to acquire access to some Phone Info settings using "ANYCUT" - a free app.
Create a shortcut to your desktop using ANYCUT: Shortcuts>Activity>Phone info.
The above suggestion stated to use the above shortcut to turn off - then, back on - the phone's radio. That did not work for me. Also, in that shortcut was a space for a SMSC - whatever that was.
I called ATT and spoke to a knowledgeable associate who asked if my SMSC had been set and what was my number. I remembered seeing the SMSC setting in the above shortcut. I was provided with the ATT SMSC number for an HTC device for my area as "+13123149810" I used the above shortcut to enter the number and selected "update"
This solved my problem.
If you have similar problem I would suggest attempting the above. Call your provider and ask for the correct SMSC and enter it in using the above method.
I observed several posts on various forums where persons where told to go get a new sim card. I don't know if that would work or not. But, it was not necessary in my case.
Thank you for the post!
This worked for me.
My ulocked G1 was working fine with Cyanogen 4.0.4. I upgraded to 4.2.1 and lost my ability to send and receive SMS messages.
I followed your instructions, but for some reason I lost my 3g when I opened the Phone Info via the AnyCut link. I changed to GSM only and got Edge, at least. Guess I need to play with it more.
Anyway, I'm on the STC aljawal network here in Saudi Arabia. (Jawalnet) using an unlocked G1 and sending and receiving SMS messages again. Yay!
If there happens to be anyone else having SMS issues, the number on the STC website is +966505031999
I think this is the SMSC number, because when I put it in the SMSC box on the Phone Info I was able to send SMS messages again.
I spent a couple hours sorting through blog posts, downloads, cabs, blah blah blah... with the goal of getting my forsaken Treo Pro (WM6) to use VOIP through my office's SIP/Asterisk setup.
To save you all some headaches, here's the distilled version of what I found to be the best combination of software and quick hints for install:
I started with this blog post, to give credit..
http://voipguides.blogspot.com/2008/05/voip-sip-client-for-windows-mobile-6.html
But I used different software... so I've included a zip with the package of all the stuff I installed to make the damn thing work.
1) Install all of these:
- voipdrivers.cab
- custelvoip.cab (works better than MajikVOIP.cab)
- sipconfig.cab (originally named SipConfigTool_2_0_1.CAB)
- audioroute.cab (from http://www.teksoftco.com/index.php?section=freeware)
I've also included setupvoip.cab .. which is a fancier SIP setup tool, and may work better than sipconfig... but I used sipconfig originally, so that's what I'm writing up here.
2) Restart your phone
3) Run sipconfig ... enter all of your sip configuration details, and also use the menu option to enable VOIP over 3G if you desire it.
4)Now go start -> settings -> personal -> Phone. Choose ther Internet Calling tab. Set the option for "whenever available".
5)On the main/Today screen you will see a phone icon with description VOIP ( you entered name of provider VOIP in (step 4). It'll show you the status of whether or not it has registered with SIP. A Hint, you might need to trick the phone into connecting to 3G first... e.g. by browsing the web... otherwise WM6 at least doesn't seem to auto-connect to 3G for SIP.
6) After connecting using 3G or wifi, You will see the status displayed as VOIP: Available.
7) You can now make calls as normal, or receive calls in.. and everything is routed through VOIP.
8) You'll notice that many WM phones will route the audio through the rear speaker (annoying) .. which is why you installed audio router from teksoft... it adds a little icon on your top system tray to let you change between earpiece and rear speaker for audio. There's a bunch of audio switchers out there. This is the best one by a mile. And it actually works.
Cheers,
Andrew Eross
Thanks for your effort. Similar tool is already posted as Schap - Setup voip Tool -

Thank you!!!
I've looked around for a guide as clear as yours. You've the best guide all around... Thank you a bunch...
Thanks for your great job. I new on Windows Mobile so I need a lot this kind of help.
I download and followed your installation procedure on a HTC 3G+, T3238 (chinese version of the HTC 3G, manufacturer HTY Taiwan)
Works well, Hope others also will be successfull
By the way, is there an also simple way to sending DTMF tones for remote control of my answering machine? When I try to send numeric keys after the call is connected it looks like I start a new connection with numbers actually for remote control of my answering machine.
Hi, I'm also in the club that has browsed hundreds of post looking for a setup of VOIP and also looking for a solution on good incoming sound level when using Voip on phone. Your files solved all my problems!
Phone: HTC HD2 Norwegian with Rom 1.66. Use the Norwegian company www.iplink.no for VOIP at home / office and (now) on my mobile phone.
Made my own ipdialplan.xml which can be found attached to this post.
Done some testing calling people through Voip: after approx 1 minute the connection falls down. I looks like I'm still connected to the other part (interface shows that a call is going on) but none of us can hear the other part. I then have to cancel the call in the phone interface. Make new call to same person, after approc minute the connection goes down again...
Is there some kind of registry setting that controls this "timeout"?
Hi, this tools does work also on windows mobile 6.5?
I know that on the HTC Fuze some of the wmvoip.cab installs breaks the GPS - anyone test this yet?
THanks!
does this work on hd2
I've done everything you said, but I can't find the option to show internet calling is available. I have Kumar 1.5 installed, and am about to try another ROM (maybe Laurentis, the SIP drivers are cooked in). What are you running?

Best Voip All in one solution. Try This
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=596682
I tried last night to no avail. I am guessing that using a WM6.5.x ROM stops me, because I can't access the right settings (start-settings-personal-home or phone) because my settings button takes me straight to the black screen of text version. I even tried to go to a 6.5 ROM (cooked with VOIP drivers in), and even then I couldn't get the VOIP phone icon to appear on the today screen. Every time I selected it from the Internet tab in the setting, it would just ignore my changes.
I would love to get this working with a nice cooked 6.5.x ROM, and am not giving up yet, but man is this frustrating. As a side note, I am learning lots about the workings of WM.

thanks for the reply. i have also installed i was able to receive incoming call but unable to make outgoing call. are you able to make outgoing call?
Okay, I feel like an idiot, but I figured out how to enable the internet calling tab on my HD2. I am still apparently learning lots about WM6.5. After I disabled Sense, I could add tabs to the today screen. I did everything right, but the voip tab just either says searching or not active. And it somehow disabled my data connection. Not sure anymore, almost through trying ROMs. Is everyone else running this on a stock ROM, or are there certain features that interfere with this?
VOIP almost working
I've implemented Internet Dialing and have SIP configured my my provider and I am able to receive calls. But, I notice that when I dial out a "9" is put in front of the number I'm dialing making it impossible to dial a number correctly. How can I change this?

You need to edit your ipdialplan.xml. It's in your windows directory. Basically it is set up by default to dial a 9 and in area code 425... If you look at it you should see where to edit it... There's also a utility knocking about here to set up a basic one for other countries...
Can't svae ipdialplan changes
I can open Total Commander find the file and make the changes to ipdialplan.xml by taking the "9" out of the 10 digit plan and the 7 digit plan, but I can't save the changes. I get "Error, could not create file" every time.
It's either open or write protected. Edit on the PC. Copy it over with a different extension. Rename the original, and then rename the new one to the right name.....
I have this very strange problem.
I have tried to install all this, but it works only partially.
Outgoing calls work and the receiving party can hear me. However, I don't hear them. Also, on incoming calls my phone doesn't respond at all.
Does anyone have any idea what is the problem?
I'm having a Topaz @ WM65.
Hello,
first of all great site I have to say... got me a lot of help with my new HD2 (switched from Nokia S60 to WM)...
No I'm trying to get my HD2 work as an VOIP Client over pbxes.org.
I found the Cab Files to enable the Voip Settings Tab and the Config-Tool.
Installed both, configured and it's working!
Now I have the Problem that I can not choose wheter to make the Call over GSM or VOIP, It's always dialing over voip (when VOIP connected). There is no config tool/button for manila (HTC sense)...
So is it possible to make a call with gsm (for mobile numbers) when voip is connected?? Or to quick disable VOIP and reenable it after the Call? Any ideas?
I'm using Nimbuzz, AGEPhone and PortSip as well, everything works with wifi-connection.
Hello
Please tell me you figured out how to install voip native windows mobile client?
Because i'd installed destr0_VOIP_WM61___SIP_Config_1.1.CAB and the settings from sip provider, it says that is selected on the today screen but when i try to make a call via default HTC dialer it shows Dialing after less than a second a short error tone and the call is not made via voip...
I can't figure out where is the problem with my HD2.
Thank you!

Try installing something like Second Today. You can enable the internet calling home screen item on it, flip to it when you need to and disconnect the Voip.

My guess is your dialplan needs to be modified. I think the ones that come in the packages default to area code 425 or something. I modified mine to just dial whatever I punch in with no modifications and then things started working.

Thank you... Yes the problem was with dialplan. I solved now...
But i have another problems:
1) When I call a number via sip the dialer windows show last call and current call over eachother insted of current call.
2) I'd installed destr0_VOIP_WM61___SIP_Config_1.1.CAB on my Leo... Is working without the need of audioroute but I saw that this cab is for WM 6.1 and Leo has WM 6.5 Rom. I need VoIP_HD.cab?
3) Is there a way to make manila show also SIP operator instead of GSM when Internet Calling is available?
4) How can we change comm manager to change one registry value when button is turned off?
Hi did you managed to get the audio out the front speaker and not the back speaker
Or is this problem still the same
Service shows selected but no dialing
I have the same problem as fiftyz. What did you change in dialplan to correct? Could you share your dialplan?

Please can someone help me.
I have recently changed from vodafone to virgin & ported my old vodafone number to new virgin sim.
My phone is showing my virgin number but when people call me on my old number the call comes through but for some reason my voicemail does not kick in when i miss a call a message comes up saying the number you are calling is unavailable.
But when i ring my voicemail it says it is setup & working.
Does the fact that my phone is showing my now cut off virgin number have anything to do with this.
IF SO HOW DO I CHANGE MY NUMBER TO SHOW UP CORRECTLY IN CALL SETTINGS.
Thank you.
HOW DO I DELETE THIS POST PUT IT IN WRONG PLACE
OK so its a Virgin Sim
Type *#67# into the key pad, after a few seconds you will get a reply, scroll down and note the number including the +44 bit
Then you need to find the Voicemail number on the phone and replace it with that one, Job Done, also the 1 key will then go direct to the VM
Never used a win 7 rom
Has anyone had problems with their voicemail indicator not working? After I manually updated my Verizon Trophy to 8107, the phone live tile no longer shows a VM and nor do I get the o_o icon at the top of the phone or on the lockscreen. I was shocked today to find out I had 4 voicemails and had no idea.
I've rebooted the phone and I've checked my voicemail settings on Verizon to ensure my VM message indicator is turned on (i've cycled that too just to be safe).
This is just regular voicemail, not visual voicemail which I don't have.
You need to push the updates for ALL installed language packs. There are no updates between 7720-7740 (at least with English US and Spanish), but there are between 7740-8107.
I am assuming this is a Verizon Trophy (SparkW).
OS:
Code:
http://download.windowsupdate.com/msdownload/update/software/dflt/2011/10/diff-7.10.7720.68-7.10.7740.16-armv7-retail-microsoft.pks_2cb1bfdd82133914239b8ee1a78e61e9000d124a.cab

Language packs installed on Verizon Trophy are Spanish and English US:
Code:
English - United States (0409):
http://download.windowsupdate.com/msdownload/update/software/dflt/2011/12/diff-7.10.7740.16-7.10.8107.79-armv7-retail-microsoft.lang_0409.pks_bfd9c047a7b27c28208c8a717f8d7511fb2586f1.cab
Spanish (0C0A):

All you need to do is push any files you haven't already.
If that doesn't help.. well.. its a Verizon phone. :/ I would assume that its simply the "normal" Verizon network BS of not showing voice mail updates unless you get a canceled incoming call. I have had Voice mail issues with EVERY single cellphone I have owned with them since 2005 (hence me assuming it is a network issue), this includes a Samsung A650 and A930, the crap Pantech Prepay phone they sell, and every single HTC phone I have ever used regardless of OS (HTC Touch [Vouge], Touch Pro2, Eris, and my Trophy).

Just curious, what would the purpose be of installing the packs? Why would that make a difference?
When I first pushed this update to my Verizon Trophy, I didn't install the English pack, and the entire phone app stopped working. I'd tap it, and then.. nothing... it'd return to the start screen. They are also a part of the update, so if you haven't installed them, you need to.
ahhh i see, thank you
