Has anyone figured out a way for this to work? The fix on hippowise doesn't work for 4.3, only 4.2.2. Thanks.
bump
AFAIK LTE is not enabled in the newest radio, but I remember there are hybrid radios out there. Flash a hybrid radio and you should be able to use LTE
I've fixed LTE tethering for 4.3. More information here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2416822

So I just have to flash the zip and it does everything automatically?

Hi everyone,
I bought a Nexus 4 few months back for my gf and she has been liking it. It used to work with LTE on Bell but since 4.2.2 I think it is disabled. However, I am looking to buy one for myself now. I am on Fido (Rogers is mother company). Should I expect LTE to work on my Fido with an easy work around like changing the radio baseband?
I will be looking to order a new one tonight.
Any input is much appreciated.
Thanks
I am on Fido and LTE working, use .33 radio and search for the LTE instructions. I am assuming you know how to root and flash radio.

1- I hoped I never have to root a stock version from Google but I don't mind doing it if I have to. What are the disadvantages of Rootin or rolling back to .33 radio? I will have to weigh my options.
2- When LTE worked before the phone had to be set to LTE again upon restart, is that fixed now so it's a permanent change?
3- Is there a ROM that is a basic basic stock image (not like CM Mod) that I can use and yet enjoy the .33 radio?
Thanks
You have to root phone in order to flash old radio. 4.2.2 uses .48 radio, and LTE only works on .33 radio. So this have to be done. Please search around the forum on rooting and enable LTE. Good luck!

Thanks again. Does rooting void the warranty? If yes, is there any way to "unroot"

So, would the "unrooting" make the phone look just like it was never rooted or would Google know regardless?

Yep. Even works for RMAs. I unrooted, relocked the bootloader, and flashed back stock rom on my RMA Nexus 4 to send it back. Google doesn't know.
I was thinking about flashing paranoid android but I couldn't find any information on enabling LTE. Do any custom ROMs have an LTE radio by default or do they all require you to flash .33 once the ROM has been flashed? Also, is there a guide for fixing the voice issues during calls with .33 on 4.2.2?
Thanks in advance.

nexus custom roms do not come with a radio built into it. any of the earlier radios will work for lte(.33, .27..). anyways, its time for you to do some reading about enabling lte, read here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2211618

You can't built a lte radio in a ROM.....I know what you meant but yeah. Lol

I saw a couple CM11 roms that are LTE enabled. I was just wondering if there are any KK based off stock roms that are LTE enabled. I didn't really see any in the main threads for Android and Original Android threads. I guess you need the hybrid radios for it to work? Is it just flashing the hybrid radio and changing the preferred network in the phone settings?
This is one of the best LTE enabled stock based ROMs. The LTE version will even flash a hybrid radio for you

I didn't even know he did a stock KK version. I'm using his CM11 right now. LOL Yeah, his ROMs = good stuff.
Thanks, man.

You can manually switch to lte with *#*#4646#*#* in dialer, or the "network app in the play store".

That was only for pre-KK. Now you have to have a "hybrid radio" in order for LTE to stick, I think. Or downgrade the radio. I like andersonarago's ROM because you can just flash the zip file and everything is done. I think I'm going the try his stockKK version with LTE.

So I've read the stickies and posted in the forum but I need yk see if anyone can help me out with LTE. I have att service on a stock non rooted n4 I've dialed *#*#4636#*#* changed my network type but it doesn't stick so I can't select lte in my settings and I'm not getting it regardless of my APN settings ... Anyone have any ideas of what's going on outside of rooting and flashing a different modem or radio .. Any help is appreciated ... Thanks

You need to flash a hybrid radio unless you never updated past stock 4.2.1,
newer radioes have the code disabled since it hasnt been approved by the FCC for LTE

The Nexus 4 does not support all of the AT&T LTE bands. It lacks the most commonly used LTE bands for AT&T and therefore can only be used in a couple of cities. If you do live in one of those cities, you need to unlock the bootloader and flash a hybrid radio.
OK I've been reading and I'm a little confused is there a solid working root and bootloader unlock for 4.4.2 ?

You can flash any baseband (aka radio) you want but, in order for LTE to work, you will need to flash a hybrid radio. For 4.4.2, you would need radio version .98 or .97
There was a recently released app that makes installing or changing either the hybrid or stock radios extremely easy. I used to use the manual method until this came along:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-4/themes-apps/app-nexus-4-modem-flasher-lte-enabler-t2607221
As was also mentioned, AT&T Band 4 is not available in too many areas, so don't be surprised if you never get LTE.
I was on 4.4.3 and updated to 4.4.4 and I've tried 4 roms (Parandroid, Slimkat, Purity, and another) and on all of them, I can't even turn the Wifi on, it won't search for any available networks or anything. Cell service works fine and I can get 4G but just now wifi. Anyone have a similar problem? Should I just go back to 4.4.3?
I would try to flash the 4.4.4 radio in fastboot

Could you link me the radio? And is that any different than the .33 radio I flash for 4G?

Ya, it is different. You dont have 4G on 1.03 radio (4.4.4). Anyway try the latest radio and look what happens.
