I was on 4.4.3 and updated to 4.4.4 and I've tried 4 roms (Parandroid, Slimkat, Purity, and another) and on all of them, I can't even turn the Wifi on, it won't search for any available networks or anything. Cell service works fine and I can get 4G but just now wifi. Anyone have a similar problem? Should I just go back to 4.4.3?
I would try to flash the 4.4.4 radio in fastboot

Could you link me the radio? And is that any different than the .33 radio I flash for 4G?

Ya, it is different. You dont have 4G on 1.03 radio (4.4.4). Anyway try the latest radio and look what happens.

THANKS! I'm assuming it has something to do with the new bootloader/radio?

I think its the new baseband that's breaking lte sensors and rotation

Okay no my wifi isn't connecting??!?! Is there a way I can just go revert back to the older bootloader and radio?
This fix breaks wifi for me. My phone just sits on "obtaining IP address".

If ROM flashing doesn't help which didn't help me flash Google factory image of 4.2.1. There is a toolkit somewhere in the forum or search on Google nexus 4 toolkit you will get all the instructions how to flash factory image. Hope this will help you

Are there any 4.2.2 Roms that still have LTE support?? I'm not too good at flashing radios and what not..

Well the ROMs won't flash a radio for you; that's what you need. Flash the 4.2.1 radio if you're after LTE, then you can run any ROM you want...
I'm sure you can find a flashable zip of the old radio if you don't want to do it via fastboot.
I'd consider rooting and fastbooting the old radio to be the quickest way. If you used one of the toolkits to root then just fastboot the radio to the device and problem solved.
Hi everyone,
I bought a Nexus 4 few months back for my gf and she has been liking it. It used to work with LTE on Bell but since 4.2.2 I think it is disabled. However, I am looking to buy one for myself now. I am on Fido (Rogers is mother company). Should I expect LTE to work on my Fido with an easy work around like changing the radio baseband?
I will be looking to order a new one tonight.
Any input is much appreciated.
Thanks
I am on Fido and LTE working, use .33 radio and search for the LTE instructions. I am assuming you know how to root and flash radio.

1- I hoped I never have to root a stock version from Google but I don't mind doing it if I have to. What are the disadvantages of Rootin or rolling back to .33 radio? I will have to weigh my options.
2- When LTE worked before the phone had to be set to LTE again upon restart, is that fixed now so it's a permanent change?
3- Is there a ROM that is a basic basic stock image (not like CM Mod) that I can use and yet enjoy the .33 radio?
Thanks
You have to root phone in order to flash old radio. 4.2.2 uses .48 radio, and LTE only works on .33 radio. So this have to be done. Please search around the forum on rooting and enable LTE. Good luck!

Thanks again. Does rooting void the warranty? If yes, is there any way to "unroot"

So, would the "unrooting" make the phone look just like it was never rooted or would Google know regardless?

Yep. Even works for RMAs. I unrooted, relocked the bootloader, and flashed back stock rom on my RMA Nexus 4 to send it back. Google doesn't know.
Since I've installed 4.3 yesterday my SIM card locked up a few times randomly. It also happens when the screen is off. I just lose all signal and then I have to enter my SIM pin. I have no idea why this is happening and I didn't experience it before.

Anyone?
Factory reset didn't fix it either. I'll try another radio later.

I had the same problem twice since my update to 4.3 (which was Sunday). Both happened when I travelled between two buildings of the company I work in - in both buildings I have wifi-access, between these buildings I only have GSM (and in some spots no GSM-reception at all). Maybe the switchover between wifi, GSM and "no reception" causes the radio to crash.
After the factory reset, did you restore your apps with a tool like Titanium Backup?
I always do that yes, but since I installed the .48 radio I haven't had any problems yet . Sorry for not updating it here; I already did in another thread I thought.

Hello, how do you like the .48 radio? i was having the same problem with you with .84 radio and stock ROM 4.3. My carrier is tele2 and this problem forced me to flash older radio which .33.
However, I couldn't receive SMS from abroad now.. Do you know what might be the problem?

Why did you flash radio .33 and not radio .48?
.48 solved my problems, everything works fine
Yup, .48 works fine. I don't know about foreign text messages since I haven't used that with this ROM and radio yet.

Has anyone figured out a way for this to work? The fix on hippowise doesn't work for 4.3, only 4.2.2. Thanks.

AFAIK LTE is not enabled in the newest radio, but I remember there are hybrid radios out there. Flash a hybrid radio and you should be able to use LTE
I've fixed LTE tethering for 4.3. More information here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2416822

So I just have to flash the zip and it does everything automatically?
