You'll need to load SafeStrap, prior to attempting to flash a ROM.

Sorry to ask this question here. But is the Droid X bootloader actually cracked?. Because according to:

It seems it is ?

No, the bootloader has not been cracked. However thanks to koush and his bootstrap app, we have a hijacked recovery that allows us to load custom roms, and themes just no custom kernels yet.

That is in-correct information. The Doid X's is far from being unlocked however, there is progress and there are developers working on it.
Whoever posted that may have been confused in thinking that the custom recovery (bootstrap), which is a secondary way around the locked bootloader, was the actual unlocking of the bootloader. While bootstrap is a life saver for the DX, the bootstrap is on lock down.
Thanks guys. I am waging a debate on a danish cell forum regarding the Atrix and its unloackability and I brought up the fact that most if not all late Motorola's had been locked tighter then fort knox more or less
Having owned HTC's forever I will be coming to this phone. Does this have a bootloader to unlock, or get to s-off like the HTC phones? Is it unlocked during the root process?
Thanks

You cannot unlock the bootloader. You can still flash roms with ss but not kernels. Odds of the bootloader ever being unlocked are extremely slim to none. The dev edition comes with an unlocked bootloader.
Moved to Q&A forum.

Yes this is Q&A now because your thread was moved from "General" and I posted it when it was in that forum
say what
I posted that in General?? Then my bad, I didn't realize that I had done that
Actually been looking for info on this matter. Being that I am stuck without the dev variant for the foreseeable future, does anyone know if it is being worked at the moment? I understand the chances for an unlocked bootloader just curious.
I remember on my droid RAZR there was something that still let me run cyanogenmod but I forget what its called. Is that possible on the N3?

If your bootloader is locked, you can't.
If your bootloader is unlocked, flash a recovery and then a SuperSU .zip.

All known methods of unlocking the bootloader were closed off a few updates ago, while we were still on Jellybean. Best of luck with finding one now; unless you (or someone else) succeed, you're permanently on KitKat.

Considering that you have to ask, it's probably locked. If you really want to check, power on the phone while holding both volume buttons.
The know-how for softmodding a game console isn't going to help much with unlocking or modifying Android devices; they're very different beasts.
This may be the wrong place for this but where can i get the stock ROM for a Verizon droid turbo?
I have 2 that i need to flash but since they were just released i am unable to locate any roms...

You can probably check out Verizons website for more information on that but as far as I know, the Droid Turbo is pretty much stock. Except a few Verizon and Motorola apps.
Thanks but i couldnt locate the stock rom. I need the Verizon Droid Turbo 4.4.4 stock rom

You could try Motorola Device Manager. But I can't think of any logical reason you would need to flash a stock ROM on a Turbo.
I already tried the MDM. All it did was install device drivers. I really need that rom.

If that doesn't give you the option to update / restore your device, then you are out of luck. Still have no idea why you really need this, given there is nothing you could have done that requires you to re-flash the stock ROM.
Because i have 2 with developer builds so they do not have the stock build. Both are unlocked and can be flashed.

where'd you get those??? Moto hasn't released the recovery image for the turbo yet, and it's not up on the sbf-droid developers page yet either.
Due to policy I am unable answer that. Ive checked sbf. I just have to wait until its available.

Thanks everyone. The flash was successful.
Is there any hope on rooting 183.46.15. is it Verizon that locks bootloaders and patches kernels because i have also have a verizon note 2 with locked bootloader and patched kernel. But some people were able to make root scripts for this phone running on JB and KK although their bootloaders were locked and kernels patched. I have rooted my phone running KK but cant flash custom recoveries/ROMs.
Right now, there are no exploits. Making another post about it isn't going to speed things along, either.

Asking about root/unlock again isn't going to change the outcome. There is nothing right now.
For the FXZ, check your other thread.
