Nexus 4 is such a well liked device. You guys think there will ever exist a back cover for the nexus 4, one that replaces the current glass back? However it'll be fixed to the phone just like the current glass back, but with a removable latch to exchange battery. Just wondering.
The battery is not hot swappable. There's a ribbon connected to the battery.

The battery's ribbon is secured by 2 screws, it should still be possible even if left without.

Is the ribbon soldered to the battery? If it's removable without much hassle, it might still be possible

But the battery is on the left side, nfc connectors can remain untouched if the cover latch is also put towards the left where the battery is

Would love a removable battery kit. Could care less about NFC or wireless charging.

left side of the N7 for? I assume they are for charging, but I wasn't aware there was any kind of dock that would use these available for the N7. Thanks.
Those are for NFC.

They're not for NFC and will indeed be used for docks - most likely carrying power and sound.

Uhhhh... No. NFC receiver is on the back under where it says "Nexus".
The pogo pins on the side are for a future dock accessory, similar to the Galaxy Nexus.
Before I even saw this I thought it would be for a dock.
The pogos pins are designed for a dock that should let you plug speaker and a charger

Anyone else have this?
I'm using stock charger
Just started noticing a couple days ago
There is wiggle when USB is connected
It doesn't charge, unless I have it just right
How annoying!! I really didn't want this to happen
Never had it before with One X or GS3
I'm afraid I'll have to over pay for a wireless charger but also :')

Try another wall charger
I had that issue on a gnex. Would only charge if positioned just right and would pop out if moved. I spoke with a Samsung rep that said inside the female end of the charging port something wore out and it would no longer hold the plug securely until I got the port replaced. I would see about an RMA if I were you because it becomes very annoying very quickly.

This is why a three pin charger rocks! Long Live the three pin system. Try using it on a power hub, horizontally.
I just called and filled for RMA.
Sucks they charge the account n hold.
How do I revert back to stock and lock?

Flash the factory images back to your phone and relock it. Fastboot is the "correct" way. Or use a toolkit.

Once I thought my N4 had a charging issue. Turns out pocket lint got stuck in there. pushed it out with a toothpick and all was good after.

My issue is a little different. The panel area between the left screw and micro usb port pops in and out if Press it. It feels like the power button popping in and out. Any solutions? BTW the phone is just three days old.
Okay im really thinking the stock chord sucks sometimes itll charge and sometimes it won't like it would stay on the same percent for a while or even go down n when it does start charging it take a while anybody else with me on this? I tried another chord and it charged fine but i lost that chord but i know my phone isnt the issue

Mine charges faster with the cord that comes with the phone then with a universal cord tbh. Maybe its is somehowe defective.
I had that happen to an older phone that I had, cord just got wore out or something. But I haven't had any problems with the one on my nexus 4, I am sure that you can pick up a very cheap one almost anywhere though, even gas stations have them I think

My cord was working well until the phone slid off my table and landed on the connector lol. (Yeah that glass back is slippery as heck.) Got a bumper and a wireless charger now so no more of those problems.

Does anyone know of any desktop charging dock/cradle that will accommodate a Nexus 4 with the official bumper on it?

Technically, the LG charging orb functions with the official bumper, but in my experience my N4 slides off the orb with or without the bumper on it after working fine out of the box for about the first week. This is without a screen protector on the glass back.
I think what you might be looking for is the upcoming TYLT VU charger. It doesn't rely on friction to hold the device at an angle, and the bumper isn't going to interfere with the wireless charging circuitry.

That looks awesome. I'm looking for a more immediate solution. I might just have to go the DIY route using a plain ol' stand and micro USB charger.

I'm planning on buying the G2, and I wanted to know if the whole "quick charge thing" was just a marketing thing or if it really works, how long does it take to charge the battery from 0% to 100% ?
Also, does the phone have gorilla glass 2 or 3? I ask because my nexus 4 held on pretty well the first months and then i got a big scratch all of the sudden on the screen (at least is not visible when the screen is on :crying: )
This is by far the fastest charging phone I've every owned. And I'm pretty sure it isn't gorilla glass 3. Pretty sure it is gorilla glass 2. Love this phone

With the stock charger from 10% to full takes bout an hour. As far as the glass, they all scratch about the same, but i can say it holds up better than my htc one and about on par with my note2

Are you serious???? one hour to charge 90% that's insanely good""" :highfive: , my nexus 4 takes around 2 hours and 40 minutes to charge from 0% to 100% with a 2200 mah battery :crying: , such a shame about gorilla glass 2, i hate using screen protectors

Yes, when i first got the phone i was at 60% plug it in to top it off while getting ready to go out go back 15 min later and it was at 90% im like wtf lol, yea its scary how fast it will charge
I dont run a screen protector and it has no scratches on it and im not exactly easy on phones, i think it has more to do with whatever coating the manufacturer puts on it more than what the glass is, like i said my HTC one would scratch very easy, this doesn't and i treat them the same
On non-stock charger or usb2.0 port it will charge dog slow (like all other phones).
on stock charger and cable or USB3.0 port with any USB cable, it will charge full in ~90min. which is about 2A
If you don't use the phone, it takes about 30-45 minutes to charge
Sent from my LG-D800 using Tapatalk 4
It takes me an hour to an hour 15 mins to fully charge the phone. It seriously does seem to charge about 20-25% per 15 minutes of being plugged in, but only on a charger that can actually put out enough amperage. Just using any old charger or plugging it into a computer is still slow because those things don't put out enough amperage.
