Hi,
I want to copy a zip file to the N4's memory.
But the folder is not poping up (a pop'ed up menu should open up when the device is connceted to PC) ... even not the menu.
The driver's are installed and the PC recognized the N4 (screenshot).
USB debugging is ticked in settings.
What could be the reason for that and how it can be resolved?
Thank you!

Try unticking USB debug.

If u meant to Bootloader - yes, i did made the unlocking procedure (by some tool called - N-Cry).
Is there a way to know it's do unlocked for sure?
In device manager (pc) i have this under "Samsung android device":
Google Nexus ADB Interface

Ofcourse - i did it.
Thank's very much ... hope to hear from you guys asap.
i meant unlocked like u press the power bottom and put ur password not ur bootloader try disabling and enabling ur driver on ur laptop or pc and see if it will work
Edit: I cannot copy the ZIP files...guess bc's it connected as a camera.
So it still - did not resolved.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Heyy...
Thank you for your solution.
I disabled and enabled it again.
Then, i chose it to be connected as "Camera (PTP)".
Fixed!
Thank you!
P.S: it's not wierd that the driver ("Google Nexus ADB Interface") located on device manager under "Samsung android device" ?
maybe it has the same driver as galaxy nexus :S no idea about these things so much
Yes it's weird, did you have also a Galaxy Nexus? But if now it works, don't mind

Maybe i should uninstall this Samsung driver?
Never had a Galaxy nexus at all.
It's working only in camera mode...can't copy files (zip) into the memory.
open notification bar and tap the usb connection option u shoud select media device (MTP) not camera.. i dont have any idea about the driver what it should have be but mine is like the pic i attached.

It's on "MTP"...still not working.
Anyone knows if the N4 driver is the "OEM USB Drivers" from Google or anything else?
Try uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers if nothing is working, if you need the zip right now use AirDroid
Sent from my Nexus 4 with Tapatalk 4
yup thats right u can use airDroid or simply use Bluetooth
and also can u check devices and printers with usb connected?! is there any nexus 4?!

After uninstalling this "nexus..." driver , i connected the n4 again ("media") and now it 99% o.k.
Why "99%?
Bc's finaly it show's "nexus 4" on the device manager - but with a yellow "?"
Except for that - it looks like it working...the SD folder is now popping up.
Hope it is not just a matter of luck and in about 2 day's when i'll need it again - it will start doing that again.
Oh. how can i fix this yellow "?"
Thank you all !!
there are plenty of these sh*ts on windows.. dont care so much

With the phone disconnected from the PC run Control Panel/Add Remove Programs uninstall SAMSUNG USB Driver for Mobile Phones and reboot.
Then from C:\Program Files\Samsung\Kies\USB Driver
install SAMSUNG_USB_Driver_for_Mobile_Phones.exe
If that does not help, from regedit remove
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Samsung\Kies\DeviceDB
then from explorer delete %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming\Samsung

I'm experiencing the same (sort of) issue: When I connect my S3 to my PC using an USB cable it shows up as a I9300 phone in Windows Explorer (see attached Explorer.jpg). I can access both the Phone memory (internal SD card) as well as the external SD card. All relevant drivers have been installed correctly (no red crosses).
However, when I start Kies it tries to connect to the S3. It recognizes the phone (see attached Kies.jpg), but keeps stuck in "Connecting...". Starting "Solve connection problems" from Kies results in re-installation of the drivers which, again, runs correctly. But still, the issue remains.

Today, When I connect my Nexus 4 to my computer it starts to install the drivers.
The driver consist of 3 parts, but the last one, the MTP USB device, fails to install. I tried restarting my pc and also tried alternate drivers for Windows 7 32bit.
Anyone familiar with this problem and/or it's solution?

Download and install these usb drivers from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1998650.
edit.. oops, seems i cannot read.
Uninstall the drivers that you have already attempted to install. If you want fastboot/adb, install the usb drivers manually linked 2 posts above me. If you want to simply copy files, make sure you have at least windows media player 11 installed and it will take care of the rest.

same here. Fix?
does anyone know ?
same here but after searching a while and only be able to connect via MTP I found this not a state of the art solution:
I use to rename the file I want to move/copy/paste from xxxx.zip or whatever in xxxx.jpg, even for roms anf kernel
for example I want to copy stremax.zip in my N4 /sdcard/
on the pc just rename it to stremax.jpg
connect via MTP
copy the renamed file to /sdcard
once disconnected use a file manager to rename it to stremax.zip and move/copy/delete or whatever you want
I know, it's rude, some developer is cursing my name, but it works..
other solution is installing airdroid but you need to be on same wi-fi network

Now after a reset of the phone, device isn't recognized and the connected as media device doesn't show up anymore. Tried more than 1 computer.
Try uninstall the USB drivers from your PC. Or try other USB ports to detect your device. Sounds like your USB drivers has screwed up. Should not be your device problem.

Before start working on the hardware, I suggest to investigate the software side further. Have you make a factory reset? (Worst case). Try enable and disable the USB debugging mode as well. http://androidteen.com/how-to-enable-usb-debugging-mode-on-android-devices/
Try to toggle both media file mode and camera mode. See what is the response from your device to pc.

EDIT : Problem solved itself. Today it decided to install the good drivers ...
I've been trying to simply transfer some files between my Windows 7 computer and my S8 without success. Yes, I know all the steps, download the USB drivers, install them, connect the S8, tap transfer files on the icon that appears and go ahead. When I connect the S8 it immediately begins to charge the phone. When I tap on the icon it simply says that I can charge if faster if I connect to a USB3 port, but there doesn't seem to be any way to get into transfer files mode. I eventually copied the files to a USB stick and then from the USB stick to the S8 but surely it's possible to do this with a simple direct connection as it has been on all the other phones I've had. Anyone know how to do this simple task?

On G950F Exynos version.
I get the same error message and have done all the usual but Win 7 will NOT connect me prioperly to allow file transfer.
I was offered an update (circa 200MB) and that didn't help it either.
Linux on the other hand does it just fine, but I'd like to get the Win version working. MTP driver always shows as not successful.
Any ideas?

Try connecting the phone to a USB 2 Port at the back of your CPU.
