[Q] downgrade stock firmware - Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

it is possible to downgrade the firmware from MGA (CSC I9505ITVBMH1) in MDF (CSC I9505ITVAMD8) with odin?

If you simply reflash your desired firmware using odin...I think it won't be an issue....but sometimes the phone gets stuck on the bootloop....then you need to boot to recovery mode and wipe data and cache...then everything will be ok...as long as you flash the correct firmware for the correct phone you'll be fine

Look here for the Odin flashable CSC file http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2250824, or first select ITV with CSC Changer from Play (need root).

Bootloader or Kit Kat Problem?

Hi, I came from 4.3 rooted but untripped knox firmware. Now I have updated to 4.4.2 Singapore firmware but have maintained to keep knox intact and root using MOP and PC Odin for flashing bootloader. My problem is, whatever I do, the keyboard and pen input keeps force closing. I have tried reflashing, reset and data wipe. I used the bootloader from the leaked firmware as I have no idea how to extract the bootloader from the firmware. Did I do something wrong? Any help is appreciated. Thank you!
Or can anyone teach me how to extract the bootloader from the firmware? Or convert the 1 file firmware to 3 files firmware which have BL separated. Thanks!

Go to Sammobile.com. You can download the poland rom and it is broken up into 4 parts (BL - bootload, AP, CP and CSC).
Get ODIN 3.09 and flash JUST the BL part in the appropriate space.
Just remember though, once you update the bootloader, you can't go back to JB....

[Q] [PLEASE HELP!!!] Cannot reflash stock firmware for Note 3 N9005

I am trying to reflash the stock firmware for my Australian Note 3 N9005 Telstra variant.
Here's what method I have tried:
Download the stock firmware from Sammobile
Boot phone into download mode
Open Odin 3.09 and plug in phone to see ID:COM light up
Selected the stock firmware from the AP button
Clicked start and waitied for firmware to flash
The progress bar will get almost to the end when Odin display a FAIL message and my phone will display "invalid ext4 image" on the screen.
Which firmware do you have currently and which are you trying to flash?
N9005 NH1 32GB Stock debloated rooted ROM
Turn off reactivation lock

Make sure the firmware file is downloaded correctly by checking its checksum.

I'm not sure which firmware is currently on there as I have tried a number of them. The one I'm trying to flash is this one:
PDA: N9005XXUENE3
CSC: N9005TELENE1
MODEM: N9005XXUENE3
Which I believe is correct for an Australian Telstra N9005.

Unfortunately I can't as I'm unable to install and boot the firmware.

I'm not entirely sure how to check its checksum but when I select it in Odin is passes the MD5 check.
I have read that attempting to flash a firmware with a downgraded bootloader to the one currently installed will not work. Would the firmware I have downloaded from Sammobile have a downgraded bootloader? It say that it's 4.4.2

PDA: N9005XXUENE3 is the latest firmware for Telstra, so downgraded bootloader is not the case.
What is your original CSC? (when you first bought the phone)

Unfortunately I never recorded that down and can no longer check what it is.
I have managed to install a custom rom called Carbon Rom via recovery and was able to download a phone info app. However a lot of the codes are empty.
Original CSC: XSI
Product Code: empty
PDA version: empty
CSC version: empty
Baseband version: empty
Android version: 4.4.4

So download the stock firmware for XSI and flash again via Odin.
Open Phone INFO ★Samsung★ app > Menu > 'Firmware Browser', enter XSI into the CSC textbox and tap Go button to search. Select the latest firmware to download.

Hey guys,
I installed xtrestolite on my G900F and changed the bootloader and modem of my device before installing it. First problem i had was with CSC. It is a single CSC and i couldn't install my countries CSC on it. That's why i went back to stock. I installed Kit Kat firmware that i downloaded from sammobile and then changed CSC to my countries CSC. Then i updated firmware to lollipop using Kies3. But installing stock rom didn't change bootloader version or modem version. Now i have kitkat bootloader version, kitkat baseband version and lollipop firmware version all different and i want to them all to be the same(latest lollipop). Is there any way to do this without downloading stock rom from sammobile again ? And if not, then can i just put the tar.md5 file that i will download from sammobile in bootloader, pda and CP at the same time and install with odin ?
Thanks in advance !
You do not need to re-download or re-install your ROM. You need to download your bootloader and radio from somewhere, then flash those with ODIN.
Just an FYI, the modem doesn't always like to stick so you may need to flash (auto-reboot disabled), pull the battery after odin says "success", then flash again immediately.

Hey thanks for the tip ! I just downloaded stock firmware but i don't know how to extract bootloader and modem from tar.md5 file and then make them odin flashable. I uploaded image with all the files that are in my tar.md5 file. What of these are for bootloader and what for modem and how do i make them odin flashable later ?
Thanks in advance

I'm not sure whether this helps but: there is a file under /efs/IMEI called "mps_code.dat" Within this file there's a CSC code. Is yours MET in this file? Maybe you can restore you original CSC if you have an EFS backup?

Help me understand CSC codes, Flashing different firmwares and Odin

OK - I started with a unbranded UK A300FU - CSC code BTU on 5.x
I flashed a (supposedly) UK VOdafone 6.0.1 rom using Odin and the ROM n the AP sjlot
It appears this failed - my Modem wasn't updated an WiFi failed - the advice elsewhere is to go into download from a cold phone.
Also, it would appear the firmware wasn't UK, but some germanic version
I restored from a TWRP backup
My phone details now says the "orginal CSC Code" is VD2
If I want get back to showing Original code as BT should I re-flash in Odin the firmware that matched the twrp backup ? If so , should I stil use the AP slot, or should I use the CSC slot?
Many thanks
Use CSC slot.
Also, the reason why your TWRP backup restoration didn't touch the CSC is that it has it's own partition, which one normally does not backup.
You could flash an entirely unbranded marshmallow rom of your choice, and flash the BTU CSC of lollipop, it should still theoretically work.
