[Q] Can't Use 4.3. Help??? - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshootin

When I install any ROM with 4.3 it takes my phone way to long to boot every time. Anyone have ideas what may be going on?

I read first boot can take a long time. Subsequent boots should be quicker.
I have noticed that on my note 2 it does take a little longer to boot. But not much

First boot will take up to 5 minutes. Any boot after that is normal.
Anytime you clear cache and dalvik cache, it takes awhile.

Thanks. I have a long time with a black screen on every boot. Keeps me thinking it hard crashed & then finally lights up with a stalk. The CM 10.2 is worse.

Samsung galaxy s3 crashing and bootloops when not charging

Hi guys just got my s3 couple of hours ago white 16gb for sprint. I tried searching for the issue I am having and no results, so I am posting here. I did the initial android setup and everything was running fine for first 15 min and then phone keeps freezing and restarts, I did many battery pulls and same thing. It would work for min or 2 and freezes and reboots. Then I put the phone on charge and used it for several minutes and no crash.
So I unplugged the phone when the battery was at 52% after charging for more then 45 min, and same reboot issue is back. So I was wondering if anyone else having this issue.
Thanks for all your help in advance.
if you didnt flash things, which i dont even know what you would flash and how at this point, i would say its broken, and you should go get an exchange. Hopefully youre the only one with the issue, ever.
i guess you could try a factory reset, which i would assume you can do from recovery, to which you would maybe get to by powering off, and holing volume up and power(once again, just an assumption).
p.s. i am impatiently waiting untill best buy gets 32gb version in stock so i can trade in this lte evo pos.
i did many factory resets and battery pulls and same issue. so i got tired and called in for exchange, they are sold out right now but will send one out as soon it comes back in stock.
Did you do a hard reset from recovery?

any particular app installed that might be causing this? :crying:
Yes I Reset it from recovery and did factory reset 4 to 6 times, No apps installed. As soon as i start navigating through menus it freezes and then reboots. Sometimes it also freezes at sprint logo while restarting, i have owned 200+ phones never had a single android phone with this kind of Issue.

Do you have a sd card installed? If its from a older phone or s2 it might be the problem too. Back up everything in format the card then see what happens....
Thanks for all your help guys !
I fixed the issue by wiping cache partition and factory reset. Before all I did was factory reset but didn't do wipe.
No crash so far

Galaxy s4 i337 startup time

I'm on 4.4 and unrooted. My phone has the longest startup time ever. It used to be fast and I haven't done anything out of the ordinary to have probably caused the issue. It boots normally, but then when the att logo appears, it does the little animation but then vibrates once slightly, then usually follows another slight vibrate some seconds later. This usually occurs for about 45 seconds to a minute until my lockscreen appears. I factory reset, and I tried powering off and on right after the reset. It was back to normal. However after I downloaded all my apps again and reinstated my settings, the problem reappeared. Is it simply because of the number of apps I have? I don't remember this happening before the update. I thought it was because I had downloaded and used zooper widget, but I uninstalled that app and tried the booting. It was the same duration (1 minute on att screen)
My bad. I'm on Android 4.3 *

What causes a longer boot time?

Phone: SGH-I337 (AT&T S4)
I'm trying to target the cause of my elongated boot time. I'm on 4.3 and unrooted. My phone has the longest startup time ever. However after I downloaded all my apps again and reinstated my settings, the problem reappeared. Is it simply because of the number of apps I have? I don't remember this happening before the update to 4.3. (it was great on 4.2). I thought it was because I had downloaded and used zooper widget, but I uninstalled that app and tried the booting. 2013 Nexus 7 randomly reboots, not sure how to troubleshoot.

This behavior started within the last month or so.
My Nexus 7 randomly reboots 2 or 3 times per day most days, but not every day. It's running the factory ROM and it's not rooted. It rarely reboots when it's actually being used. Usually the reboots happen when it's sitting idle. Googling around led to suggestions to take a bug report immediately after it reboots. I have a couple, but I don't know what I'm looking for in them. The files are over 111k lines long so it's not like I can just skim through the file. How can I go about finding out what's causing the tablet to reboot?
Try the nexus 7 2013 forum this one is for the 2012 version it may be worth trying a factory reset failing that reflash the factory image also try booting the tablet in safe mode this limits the apps to only system apps if the tablet stops randomly rebooting then you know its a 3rd party app causing it

New update won't allow my screen to lock

The newest update that was installed on my phone caused a glitch where it won't allow my screen to lock, I placed a timer, to see how long it would take for my phone to turn off,
My phone died after 5 hours, without the screen turning off...
Where is the fix? How do I get it to stop, seriously. This is unacceptable.
Well, the good part is you get at least 5 hours SOT.
I have had this happen periodically, usually a cache wipe fixes it. Still don't know why it happens, and it's quite rare and random, though. Try booting to recovery and wiping cache and see if that fixes it. If not a factory reset may be in order.
