The evervolv 4.3 experience - EVO 4G General

Well I will be posting daily on how evervolv has progressed with their build. First let me me say for novice users flash this ROM with twrp 2.4.3.0 recovery. No fear of bricks that was only with 2.0-2.1. If you are experienced enough you can edit the installer script to work with the amon-ra style recovery.
Link to bootloader flashable twrp zips.

8-11
First supersonic build.
Not working
4g - of course and don't expect it to
3g/1x
Mms - no mobile data no mms
Camera
A2sd style scripts result in non booting state
Plus other minor things
8-12
All the same issues
Andrew is working on data
8-13
Lots of commits but no noticeable changes
Work on 3.0 kernel
8-14
More fixes to mobile data but not working yet.
8-15
Update log is full of commits for 7x30's 3.x kernel. Been too busy to download and flash yet. Woth no commits for supersonic data I doubt it works yet.
8-19
Only two things in the change log qsd8k camera and data. So looking like the this build could be the one most of us have been waiting on. Next big thing will be the 3.x kernel. Keep your fingers crossed but please don't hold your breath.
9-13
Today is the day we have been waiting for!! Data works!

So is this using the 3.0 kernel now? Also, any reason I can't use TWRP 2.6?

I have not tried 2.6 but did try 2.2.2.0, 2.4.6.0, and 2.5.0.0. The 2.5.0.0 recovery just bootlooped at the twrp screen. So far the supersonic is still running 2.x kernel.

Oh sorry I forgot to mention a2sd and such will not work yet. There is an issue with the mount.
Also preludedrew is working hard to get data going. I have tested two special builds so far for him to provide logs. Hopefully data will be working in a couple of days.

While on previous Android versions, the Shooter has had working WiMAX, the Supersonic never has. I believe working WiMAX would be dependent on getting the 3.0 kernel fully functional. In that instance, I believe even FFC might be a possibility (once camera is worked out). But it's all speculation at this point.

I Belive you are right, sounds about right anyway

Yes but the 3.0 kernel is in the works. The 7x30's 3.0 kernel is being done now and word is ours is next in line. Although I would not hold my breath for it. Just thought I'd share.

Well good news in 8-19 change log. Fixes for camera and data are listed I will report back in a few hours if they are working.
Sent from my PC36100 using xda app-developers app

Glad to see this thread here. Also my 2 cents on the 3.0 kernel. I do think elginsk8r can get it going, (that's who preludedrew said is working on it) so for anyone looking to ditch this device, or move on, at least keep this thing as a backup or a toy. Never know what the updated kernel may bring.

Didn't see a thread so I thought I'd share! @Cvpcs has successfully booted CM7 on the DX! Read the article here: http://www.android-invasion.net/?p=307
Very cool, haven't had a CM compatible phone since my G1. Look forward to some beta releases to play with.
Awesome! Can't wait for release.

Not sure we'll ever see a stable one, though. If you look at the Android Police article on it, like nothing works with it at present on the DX; they were just able to boot into it, lol.
Go to rootzwiki and see what he posts plenty of things work.....however for sure alpha. But a whole hell alot more than nothing.

WRONG!
Side note its pretty stable.
So after reading the wiki and mdw, it's possible to flash back and forth on the device? Between cm7 and .596? Like boot into cm7 from .596 and back without using a pc? No sbf or anything?

Flashed on my gf's Droid X. Its stable, fast, functional - only issues are:
- autobrightness
- camera
- gps
- some video codecs
Its already merged into official cm git and nightlies will soon be published through buildbot and be on rom manager.

You could probably build from source now and have the fixed camera and gps.
cm4dx has nightlies now!

Best rom to wifi tether

Hey I'm on rooted. 602 gingerbread and wanted to know a good rom that could wireless tether from? if not I'll just flash to froyo and run liberty froyo and tether from there?
Sent from my DROIDX using XDA App
I was under the impression that all you needed to do was download the wireless tethering app but i feel as though your implying that the rom can impact the efficiency or the possability of the wireless tethering. is that true?
when i was on froyo i was just rooted and used the wireless tether app i downloaded from google. and it worked great
It's weird since I've been on gingerbread I always get errors trying to tether and the verizon tether app tries to start, i wonder if miui would work on. 602?
Sent from my DROIDX using XDA App
you know the only rom i've every got to work was liquid and i only had it for a couple min before i decided i really didn't like it and i reverted back to my CWR backup. I have been considereing Miui or Liberty and i'm pretty sure i've read that people have wireless tethered on both but unfortionatly thats all second hadn information but if you do decide to flash miui let me know what you think and how you did it lol I would be very interested in hearing a more recient opinion of the Rom

Well you can leave it on the sd card for easier unpatch if you have to bring. Phone in under warranty. But you shouldn't need to do that. All you need to put on the sd card is the wugfresh patch
All you do is download wugfresh. Flash zip from recovery then open tehter and select droid x. That's important VERY. Otherwise it won't work.
Also don't forget to backup before you do anything.

How come wifi tether doesn't work after I did update
Sent from my PC36100 using xda premium
Miui works great for tethering witch the miui rom takes a little time to get use to kind of reminds me more of an iPod but I would also recommending cm7 wit h has a couple issues with the camera sometims not working witch there is a patch out for it if its needed. I do not recommended using wifi tether on stock the because after a few hours with the phone being on I would get issues with the internet randomly going out and not coming on till I restart phone and dont k ow if any one elts has had that problem

Sent from my ADR6400L using XDA App
The Sensation doesn't have a CDMA/LTE combo radio like ours so unfortunately it's not very useful for what we need to get fixed but hopefully we will get our own ICS leak soon or the developers will figure out ril on their own.
Very cool, subscribed for future updates!
This by far the cleanest looking ROM. I am addicted to flashing. I cant seem to find my driver. If this gets fully developed. Which I pray it does, then without a doubt, this WILL be the last ROM I will ever flash. keep up the awesome work!
why would anybody want to load this if its still in the the alpha 4 stages and no data is working? I rather install this if data is working but not mms or camera, but thats the reason to have a phone is to be able to call.
I would love to see this out of alpha and into beta 1 or beta 2 etc.

Will the Nexus 7 be receiving official MIUI or CM support anytime soon?
Sent from my HTC ThunderBolt using xda app-developers app
I haven't seen anything guaranteed, and I don't expect to either ( these are community built ROMs and the last thing I would expect is guarentee) however this is a nexus device and will also have a huge user base with a greater than normal percentage of people willing to try custom ROMs , so I think on a practical note this device will get those builds as well as somany different flavors of android you won't be able to keep track of them all
