Hey all,
I installed the 4.3 ota update back when it was first released in August, and it was rooted, lost root and rerooted. Nothing else I have changed.
Today is the 3rd time since updating back then has my phone recieved the ota prompt. First time I just went through and it restarted. 2nd time it gave a boot error and this time it just restarted the os. Like I said it doesnt come often but I just wanted to know if anyone has had this issue and Im going to assume I need to wipe the phone and a stock image?
So I finally got the 4.3 update. My phone was all ready to install the update so I tapped update and install and started to reboot and install like normal. As it was installed in the stock recovery, all of the sudden it displays the message "error!". Then it reboots back into the same version of android and a few days later, it says it need to update to 4.3 and the cycle starts again. Any one know what is going on? Thanks
Hi everyone!
I have a problem with my stock Nexus10 currently running JWR66V (4.3)
From time to time, i got the notification that an update has been downloades (160.3Mb, quoted as "4.3")
The device boots and install it, but after rebooting again the tablet is stil on JWR66V build
After few days the notification is on again, but never happens, so i have tried maybe 4 times now to install this OTA
Any clue on how to solve this?
Thanks
Hi All,
On Tuesday i downloaded the OTA after getting the notification. The download completed but update paused because of low power. I plugged the Nexus into the mains and went to bed. In the morning i found that the 7 had not updated........any idea? My Nexus 5 updated no problem and i LIKE it.....A LOT!
John.
Are you rooted?
Same thing happened to my daughters 7. Update downloaded plugged in to let it charge up, came back and the update was gone, and tablet shows no system updates are available.
Similar happened to me. I got notification about update available. I downloaded the update successfully, confirmed to reboot and install the update but nothing happened after reboot. Update not installed. When I check for update now it shows that it's up to date... I'm running on completely stock ROMs only since beginning, installing OTA updates only as they come...

100% stock unrooted and unmodified (SO's tablet), downloaded and rebooted and no L - boo
- Clearing the device cache might help. The OTA is usually stored there so that would delete any partial or full downloads, and might restart the whole process.
- You could always sideload the OTA from your computer. The option is in the stock recovery mentioned in the link above. Just Google how. And you don't need to be rooted for that.
- You might consider waiting for the next update. A lot of users are complaining about performance of 5.0, especially on 2012 model. Personally mine runs great. First couple of days had a bit of lag but now it's as smooth as it was on 4.4.4
Rooted Nexus 4 Lollipop Update
Hi All,
My nexus 4 is rooted & i just got the lollipop update. However, during installation of the same, i got a question, Fix Root, with a red color exclamation sign on android robot. As i didnt know what was going on, I selected no. It rebooted my phone & I am still on 4.4.4 Now there is no OTA available. I have tried clearing cache memory, still its showing, System is up date. Please help as i dont mind loosing my root privileges over lollipop update.

Root Access Possibly Lost Fix?
THIS CANNOT BE UNDONE
1. YES fix root (/system/xbin/su)
2. NO do not fix
Hey guys,
New here, obviously.
My note 4 is currently running 4.4.4, around 2 weeks ago, my friend accidentally hit update on my phone while he was using it, instead of "do not remind me" which I always pressed, cos I never wanted to update to lollipop. Now, the update has been downloaded and the notification to install the update cannot be removed (application settings are greyed out).
Have tried the method of clearing cache in recovery mode, but to no avail.
So my options now are to either install the damned update, in which case I'm wondering if it's still really problematic and irritating.
Or I can factory reset the phone and (hope) the update file will be removed and I can just disable the update stuff.
Thanks for any help in advanced.
i think factory resetting will fix this and then you can disable the update stuff. Don't worry you can always flash stock 4.4.4 firmware even if you update. (unless you update to coj5 build of 5.1.1 which makes downgrading impossible)
