Howdy,
I'm starting to think I'm cursed. I've had 2 XDA IIs as they both crashed so much and now I've got the XDA Exec as a free upgrade and I've still got problems with it. The thing is that unlike the IIs, it doesn't crash. The only thing that happens is that the phone application simply doesn't load. It won't open or anything. It just seems to kick in once every 2 days or something so I have to soft reset.
Anyone else having this problem or know of any solution? I've tried Task Manager and closing it, but that does absolutely nothing.
If you close the phone item in the task manager you cannot re open it (BUG!). If you perform a soft reset it should work find but remember not to close from task manager.
I'm on a business trip and on my 2nd day of a 5 day trip, my inbox (messaging) keeps popping up and I can't close it....or keep it closed. The only way for me to close it is to hold the power button and turn it off...like a reset type of off. Then, anywhere from 5 to 60 mintues, it will come back. I can't do anything else with the K-JAM once this happens.
Anyone have any clues as to what is wrong? I didn't install anything and the only thing I tried to do is to connect it via bluetooth to my Apple iBook. Unfortunately, I did this while I was in a tradeshow. I installed a virus scanner but it couldn't find anything.
last thing I noticed. When I would go to Comm Manager, my Push email is highlighted, but then goes to normal after a couple seconds...but there is no X on the icon. I never set this up...or any email.
Any help would be great!!
Thanks,
Tom
I forgot to mention this...I checked the Messaging button and it doesn't seem to be sticking.
I soft-reset my phone last night and this morning, my Inbox/Messaging was showing.
Any thoughts?

Inbox popping up problem
Hello. I didn't notice if you mentioned that you are using any "task manager" third party apps. I had this exact problem while using Magic Button a while back. This was prior to flashing to Summiters incredible new ROM for Cingular Wizards, but the problem was exactly as you described.
Just wanted you 2 know. Let me know if you still have issues and what apps you are running other than stock.
Cheers.
Jeffrey
thanks for the thought, but I'm not using any applications like that....or any at all that control any features...I'm pretty stock.

I've read the other threads about this issue, it seems to be related to the keyboard for me, or maybe that's a completely different issue.
The most annoying thing for me, more so than the touchscreen failing, is something where it's like a key is being pressed repeatedly, very fast. For example, the start menu was opening and closing extremely rapidly. During this time, the touch screen might work, but anything I open is closed immediately. Even hard resets, taking out the battery while the device is on don't help. And when it eventually subsides, the touchscreen isn't working. The other thing that opens and closes rapidly is the task manager that comes with a lot of firmwares (Shaps for one).
I'm planning on seeing if I can take this device in, seeing as how we bought it not long ago. Just wondering as to the causes, as I've spent quite a few hours trying and trying to fix this.
When I pull out the keyboard, at the point when it goes 'click', that will sometimes trigger the rapidly flicker start menu and such issue.
The thing about the task manager puzzles me though - the start menu button is a hardware key, but there isn't one for the task manager in the upper right. So what would be triggering that?
Technology can be so bloody annoying.
Thanks for any answers,
-David
Does anyone else experience this?
My live wallpaper will randomly reset back to the blades of grass, at random times. Usually when closing an app. But sometimes I soft reset my phone and it is back to the blades of grass. Seems very random, and I just switch it back...
Is this a setting somewhere?
Do you use a task killer, anything taking up a ton of system memory?
No, no task killer. Nothing taking up a ton of memory.
I have a Galaxy Tab (T-Mobile version). At least a couple of times a day, at random, the Tab goes into "slow motion". It's like there's some process that has gone crazy and is eating up all the CPU time. This happens randomly....I don't see any particular pattern. When it happens, about all I can do is to do a force shutdown by holding the power button in for about 10 seconds and then re-start.
Anybody else seeing this happen? Any ideas? Troubleshooting thoughts?

Droid X
Samsung Galaxy Tab
press and hold the power till the airplane mode /data conection menu pops up then just back out of that menu and that should fix it.
If not root it using z4root and install One click lag fix (OCLF) for tab and get a task killer from the market.
