One problem: the phone - JASJAR, XDA Exec, MDA Pro General

Howdy,
I'm starting to think I'm cursed. I've had 2 XDA IIs as they both crashed so much and now I've got the XDA Exec as a free upgrade and I've still got problems with it. The thing is that unlike the IIs, it doesn't crash. The only thing that happens is that the phone application simply doesn't load. It won't open or anything. It just seems to kick in once every 2 days or something so I have to soft reset.
Anyone else having this problem or know of any solution? I've tried Task Manager and closing it, but that does absolutely nothing.

If you close the phone item in the task manager you cannot re open it (BUG!). If you perform a soft reset it should work find but remember not to close from task manager.

Comm. Manager causes system to freeze!any similar experience

Hi there,
Recently I have been experiencing a strange problem with the M600. Communication helps me to connect to wifi. Everything is fine and I can do whatever I want, browse the net, file transfer via network etc. The problem comes when I exit the Communication Manager. I press the wifi icon to disable wifi, then I close the Communication manager. After this the system freezes! Nothing works including start menu. The only way out is soft reset. Because of this I have to reset my device 3-4 times a day! Very annoying. Any similar experience to anyone? Any cure? Or am I missing something?
Anyone? please. This is getting on my nerves now. I have to reset my device 4-5 times a day, probably more than this! Any help would be highly appreciated.
Thanks
hi, sorry I havent been getting these issues! I know this sounds very Dell Tech support but what about a hard reset?
Hi,
I have almost the same prob:
If I close my comm manager with the upper right button in the screen my system freezes for about 4 seconds but after that everything is fine.
If I close the comm manager with the exit button in the lower left side of the screen the app closes immediatly without any freezes...
so try this and good luck

Click to collapse
Hi, I took your advice and did a hard reset. Everything seemed to fine until today when it froze couple of times when communication manager was turned off I think some of the programmes which I installed may be inter acting with Comm, manager but I dont know which
comm manager is a buggy app... sit tight and wait for a fix from HTC.

Unhandled Exception Error - please help

Ok, this is driving me mad - my O2 XDA Mini S is frequently (but irregularly) coming up with a dialog saying "Unhandled Exception Error -attempting to restart shell" - all I can do is click Ok, which then resets my PPC.
I've had the XDA for about a month and never had this problem till 2 days ago - I noticed it started happening after I installed TenGo, Fitaly and CalliGrapher. I've uninstalled all these, but it still happens.
It happens when I click the X to close a program - not every time, and I notice it most often with "built in" apps like Contacts and Settings and Programs (although it did happen once when I closed Resco Explorer). It doesn't happen every time, but it is very very annoying, especially as it takes about 4 minutes to boot up after every reset (it's always been this long, is this normal?)
I should mention I use an app called InClose to close programs without SmartMinimising them, but I've been using it since day 1 and never had this problem.
I also recently installed a new version of Microsoft .NET CF and removed the old one, dunno if this matters.
Thanks a lot, any help appreciated as it's rendering my phone unusable cos I'm scared to open any apps in case it crashed again.
Shell Error
If your running Battery Status version 104.203 build 4 that could be your problem,
If so, try and switch to different version...if it persists then get a different overclock utility..
Hard resetting will not fix the issue

8125: phone goes into hibernate and wont come out

anyone have a solution ?
Had the same problem on and off. Upgraded to 2.26 and have not had the problem since.
and how do i go about doing that?
is it a hard procedure? amd is it easy to screw up?
i did a hard reset on the device and the problem went away, then after about a month or 2 of use again it seems to have started happening.
I had that problem after I installed the test bluetooth stack... probably a memory leak issue...
anyone have suggestion what i should do ?
I had the same problem too.. I installed Memmaid, and checked the notifications queue. There was a program I installed which placed itself to run when the device woke up.. When I deleted it the problem was solved. But be careful, just delete 3rd party software entries. I guess this is easier than uninstallling them one by one. After spotting the problematic software, you can consider uninstalling it. Hope this helps.
well, you did do a hard reset right? That should tell you what software you installed that caused this, that is if you do your app installation one by one...
Another advice given to me is to get a task manager and monitor if any process/app take up too much memory..
the only apps i have installed are:
SPB Pocket Plus
SPB Weather
MemMAID
Resco Photo Viewer
Batti
Smartskey
Eten Dialer Skin
NFpencil - some nothing drawing/sketch application
it gets really annoying, when i do a soft reset it starts off with 22mb of memory by the end of the day or next morning its down to 18-17-16mb which is usually when it would freeze.

Problem: Messaging and ActiveSync on device won't start

I have an 8525 and have been running CRC's 13.4 ROM fine for several months. Today, a strange problem developed: When I try to open ActiveSync on the device, the program opens but after about 1 second it immediately exits (I am unable to change any settings). Messaging (pocket Outlook) won't even open.
Everything was working fine yesterday, and I didn't install any new programs since then. I will probably do a hard reset to fix things, but I wondered if anyone has a solution that will not involve a hard reset. I looked on the web and XDA forums, but couldn't find anything.
Thank you.
I've started having this problem too, twice in a row, after a hard reset. My Activesync does exactly what you describe.
The first time it did it, I ended up having to do a hard reset and then everything was fine.
Now it's done it again 2 days afterwards... sounds like it's fk-ed...

first startup assistent problem

i got a new hd2 today. it works fine, the only problem is that i never get the chance to finish that first-startup-assistent that appears after starting for the first time or hard resetting (when using official roms). it somehow starts in the background, but i cannot get it in the foreground or kill it in the task manager; the only time i get a glimpse on it is when i power off the phone. that is really annoying because it enables my wifi on every soft reset.
any solution for this?
open comm manager and switch to flight mode, you should find the wizard comes to the front and you can finish it.
worked, thanks!
