I couldn't get mine to work a couple days ago. Would not power on. Hold power button for 20 seconds and it booted back up. Hope that works for you.
Tried everything. Nothing worked at all. Showed that driver required that I showed. It requires a jtag to fix
Try holding down the volume rockers and power button. I did the same thing and that fixed it

Back to the retailer for a refund or exchange.... Why do anything else that would waste more time or actually cause more damage?
That's what I did. I didn't have a nandroid backup on my comp for it hence why I wanted to save it.

I actually got to the HSUSB_DLOAD on my computer also. For me that came up if you press vol +/- and power at the same time. The screen will not turn on but windows detects something trying to install. I wonder what that is. Remember to boot into bootloader it is vol - and power. Hope this helps.
Try a different cable. It doesn't brick that easily.

When you say "Will not boot" do you mean you're able to power it on and it gets stuck at the X screen? Or it can't power on at all?
If you're able to power it on, you should be able to get into fastboot mode and restore it to factory settings or flash the stock images.
If you can't power it on at all, then it's a hardware issue and there's nothing you can do about it. Unless you know how to fix the hardware.

I know they are a lot of Topics about this, I have tried everything (I think), here is my problem.
The Epic is stuck at the Battery Charging Icon. It will not Power On, It will not go to Download Mode, and it will not go to Recovery.
What are my other options, since the phone is not following commands, is not rooted and is not activated?
Thanks guys

If you have the battery out it should not react that way. With the battery out hold the 1 key on the keyboard and plug into a USB port and press the power button while still holding the 1 key.

Only power and the 1 key on the keyboard will get you into download mode. Sounds like you will have to take into the Sprint store to diagnose at this point. If you can't get into download mode, you are screwed. You can try leaving the battery out for a couple of hours.

This is due to the thin wiring harness being damaged that connects the keyboard to the Motherboard.. It can be replaced at your local Sprint repair store.

This happen when I bricked my phone. Unplugged my phone and took the battery out for about a day and then afterward pressed the power button about 30 times and I got lucky and my phone went into download mode after I pressed 1 and the power button. The key is discharging your phone's memory and reflashing your phone with stock rom. I had to reflash my phone a lot of times before my flash stuck.

Ok. it turns on that is good. Now turn off the phone hold down the power button and the 1 key on the keyboard. This should get you to download mode. Pressing the power button is useful to get your phone to powerup and now that it is powered up you can now flash the stock rom on your phone thru odin. Reflashing stock rom is the key to fixing your phone.
But the power buttom is not working, I already give it a hard reset and the phone was not rooted, you think that is gonna fix the buttom? I thought it was an hardware issue.. what do you thing?

Guys...I have a quick question...well maybe 2...
(1) so my phone is having the same problem. Working one minute, then not the next and I can't get the phone to boot up at all. Is there any other way I could get it to boot...through USB to the PC, anything?
(2) So I got it into download mode, and it completed. Did that download everything from the phone to my pc? If so, where is that data and how will I get it back to my new phone?
Sorry for the stupid questions, but I haven't dove into things like this with the Samsung yet. Thanks!!!

How about you say everything you've/he have tried first, then we can point you in the right direction. For instance: battery pull, Odin, does a computer recognize it, does the screen turn on at all, of so, what does it display, what ROM/Mod did he flash?
Lots of info needed.

If it's anything like my last note, my laptop crashed just as I was flashing a new bootloader via PC Odin. Now, no matter what I do the screen remains completely blank and there are no sounds or any signs of life.
I've tried to get into download mode assuming that the screen is just not showing anything, but no sign of activity on PC Odin and no devices showing on ADB.
It appears completely dead.
I'm wondering if a jig might spark it onto life.

It is hard bricked. Try connect it to a pc and there is hope with odin if your pc recognize it. If not like mine so there is only one way: samsung service. They will change motherboard and they cant find out that it is rooted..etc...

A jig (can be ordered online) should be a good idea since the bootloader is damage so need a jig to boot it in usbboot mode and then maybe can flash bootloader. (I have not tried it myself though.

Turn off the device(Hold the power button for about 10sec) if it's on. Now hold all three hardware buttons(Power, volume UO & Down) togather till the google logo shows up, and this will tur your device on into fastboot mode. Now you should be able to to find your devece from your PC(if driver installed). If you ment "Wug's Nexus Root Toolkit" by "WUG" than you probably want to use Flash stock + Unroot (Can't boot up).

Well I have no idea if it's in Fastboot or not. Currently the phone is stuck in the mode where there's an arrow pointing towards the power button and 2 white arrows with representation to the volume buttons. I'm not too familiar with these terms. All I know is that I have the phone unlocked and Paranoid Android installed.

Well I managed to reboot it and get back phone's home screen. Though I still have the issue of the fact that my lock/power button is completely busted and/or unresponsive.
Should I just install an app that will serve as an alternative to the power button? By now my Warranty would've already expired and I would have no way of getting it repaired. Are there checks I can make to see whether or not it's a software or hardware fault?

My best guess is it's a hardware issue. A local cell phone repair shop can put in a new power button without a lot of cost.
