You need to connect your phone to your computer in the pink screen and then change the boot.img file.
To do so - switch off your phone, then hold the volume up and down keys and power on your phone.
You'll get the pink screen. Connect it to your computer and change the image file.

Hey people, i can connect phone in pink screen on 2.3.5, but it wont give me the image folder. Only 2.2 lets me see the image folder with pink screen.
Im wondering how else to root 2.3.5 on u88oo.?

If you are getting the pink screen, then you should get the image folder as well.
Try using another computer.
I've rooted my phone the same way while using 2.3.5.

There are different versions depending on where you live, but that shouldn't matter.
My version was U8800 V100R001C00B136SP03CUSTC151D002.
Anyway, try the pink screen method again.
You have the drivers installed, right? If not, then make sure you install them.
Get into the pink screen and then connect your phone to your PC.

I think i have the drivers installed. But could you please walk me through the install process. As rooting 2.3.5 with the pink screen has never worked.
When i plug usb in, and phone is in pink screen, usb sounds three times, not twice like it normally would.....

I rooted my u8800 (2.3.5) with super OneClick.

i've had the same problem as you, when i used the pink screen, the Internal memory didn't show up and SuperOneClick didn't work for me neither, i just went with Doomlord worked like a charm.
here's the link and i hope you find this helpful ^_^

PS: installing CWM isn't rooting its something you can only do after rooting and you'll need something like "remount" to make the img file RW(re-writable) and then use the ES explorer to over-write the old recovery file with CWM

This is how to access pink screen folder (U8800 2.3 28.12.2011)

For U8800 2.3 Official Update (28.12.2011)
Root required.
1. Install "Es File Explorer"
2. Es File Explorer > Setting > File Settings > check "Show Hidden Files"
3. Exit "Es File Explorer"
4. Install "Remount" (Stephen Stericson) app by market
5. Run "Remount"
6. Select "/.cust_backup"
7. Select "rw"
8. Click "REMOUNT"
Okey
Now, open "Es File Explorer" and go "/.cust_backup" folder.

Revision 2.3 official release today, but while the official locked the kernel: the pink screen can not be replaced under the RECOVERY.
For the better part of successful people to upgrade, but some people experience the version 2.3 will encounter the same problem: unlimited card restart or shut down the second screen, you must double-clear before entering.
The solution is to replace the previous private RECOVERY after double clear, but now can not be replaced under the pink screen, while the previous ROOT tools must be set to open LOG after reboot once, to complete ROOT, but must be double-clear after the restart, thus causing infinite loop.
So I wrote U8800 night ROOT dedicated a key tool, simply turn USB debugging on and off quickly to turn it off R OOT.
Infinite second screen with my friends first ROOT, and then double-clear after the restart, re-entering the machine after the installation Root.Explorer, replaced again after the restart civil RECOVERY double clear. This future will not card.
Moreover, some machines need to upgrade the 2.3 data cable to connect phone and press three keys into the powder-screen to upgrade. Otherwise, only the powder into the screen does not respond.
Time to write so hasty, I have problems leave a message or add a table microblogging @ Columbia

hi friends I downgrade to B162 from internal storage it works for me then i had full acsess to the pink screen ccw recovery and restore my miui backup no more problems.

Who has updated to beta version 2 (B518) won't feel any diference beside cannot access to pinkk bootloader, i've been reading the chinese huawei forum, and the lock to the pink bootloader is to stay, all the future releases will block it, huawei says that's to low support costs, cause when costumers brick the phones had being messing around the files in /image folder and huawei has to change the motherboard of the phones, we have still access to the folder, using some apps like "root explorer", but for the "dumb client" that just want to make some calls and use youtube and gmail, that doesn't make any difference...

[Q] Stuck on Revolutionary recovery screen after flashing kernel

Yesterday I completed my first root (using this method http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1228566 ). Today I downloaded HDMwIn HDMI mirroring app which told me I needed the kernel manager lite. I Dowloaded and flashed I think it was Tiamat_evo kernel. After that it automatically restarted. htc white welcome screen comes on, goes away for 5 secs, white welcome screen comes back, goes away again then the revolutionary recovery screen comes on. I tried running the zip file from when I rooted it again but after rebooting again it does the same thing, over and over and over and over. I'm able to access the sd card via usb mount on the computer and I'm thinking there could a file I could put on there to make this right, maybe? I'm just not sure what file that would be if there is one. Like I said...pretty new to this stuff, so any help will be appreciated.

check this thread out. I had the same thing.http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2432476
this reverts you completely back to stock. You will lose all your data but you did back up regularly, right?
(edit) you only have to hold the volume UP key while plugging in the USB on a D801 to get into download mode.
Make sure you've disconnected usb when attempting to enter recovery. Hope the silence means you've sorted it out!

If you're trying to unpack the ROM try redownloading the rom.
You're saying that you have CM installed? I had this exact problem and I had PA installed.. it was a mess. I had to sideload the original ROM because to flash with that program your build.prop has to be the original information when you received the phone or else the program will throw a "different phone model"
Do you have the LG usb drivers? Install all proper USB drivers and try to sideload an original ROM.
BTW do you have any backups? Restoring also gets you out of this mess
never mind i opened the wrong folder thanks for everything guys it worked perfectly ^.^

It worked perfectly but i guess i have to root my phone again so i think i lost all my backups from flashify
Didn't lose my root but now I've got some screen burn in because the phone wouldn't stay off.

In case you don't know, you can supposedly get rid of it by displaying an all-white screen (with display brightness turned down to preserve bulb life).
