What's up XDA
First off this is not another thread asking if it's possible to use AT&T's LTE on the i9505.
(I already know it can be done.)
Rather, I'm asking if there is some official process (maybe a thread) for enabling it on the phone.
In my search I've seen bits an pieces of what to do, like:
1. Flash the modem needed for At&t.
2. Ensure they have your phone set to an LTE plan.
3. Set the APN up to use LTE.
But many post are conflicting, and some seem to indicate that you don't have to do anything.
That's why I'm asking for a step by step. I apologize if there is already a thread that addresses this. (Truly, I tried to find it.)
Thanks in advance for any help
Well, can anyone please tell me if this much is true.
I just need to flash an At&t rom to use LTE? Or can, you use LTE without an At&t rom?
I'd really like to avoid the bloat. (That's one of the reasons why I want the i9505)
I am in the same situation. Have you had any luck? Thanks

Did you guys have any luck with this? I know we need to flash an i337 modem, but I can't find one anywhere!

We cannot flash anything that hasnt been signed/compiled by LOKI.
Oh Duh I forgot this forum is merged with Canadian variants of our device haha
The Canadian i337m doesn't require LOKI.
I know we can flash i9505 ROMs (as long as we don't flash their modem) but not sure about the TMO ones.
I'm hoping for some T-mobile roms to be signed by LOKI. While I have/getting it today a AT&T SGS4, my provider is T-mobile.
According to the following link "GT-i9505, Canadian SGH-i337M, and T-Mobile SGH-M919 are all compatible (meaning you can install ROMs from each other!!! e.g. you can install T-Mobile ROM on GT-i9505 or vice versa)".

yes, yes, yes, yes, you can run those roms, yes again.
I have everything you need to know, right here..

So tomorrow I will be probably going from the n900a to the n900. One issue I'm having is how the n900 and n9005 are halfway mixed together on here, and I don't know which roms and kernels I can safely use. On top of that I don't know what to expect when running it on AT&T (other than a lack of LTE). I go on sammobile and don't know which stock rom I'll need in case of an emergency.
So if anyone could help with guiding me through all of this, I'd appreciate it. I'm 99.99% sure that LTE is out the window. I just want to know what I can do on here. Usually these forums are cut and dry as far as models getting their own section, but international is so different.

After you get your phone simply go into settings then go to "about",
there you will see the exact model number of your phone.
Once you have that then go to sammobile.com and download
the odin flashable stock official rom for your phone's model.
When looking for a custom rom to flash make sure that it's
compatible with the model number of your phone.
Good luck!

Thanks for the reply, but when I go on sammobile there are so many different stock roms from so many countries. None of which are mine. So I don't know if it matters which one I choose. The n900a just had one.
And it really makes it more difficult, for me anyway, when they make n900 and n9005 share a section. I know that n900 has a separate "android development" section, but everything else is combined, and it only serves to confuse.

Hey there folks
I have a SM-g900t that i got off Ebay (unlocked, KNOX counter Tripped). i got it because i hated my SM-G386W.
so i get this S% and start playing with Custom Roms and Loaded a rom from the SM-G900F ("ViSiON-X" or some crap) and while it works good, i cant connect to 4G anymore. phone cycles between HSPA, HSPA+ and 3G.
since im on Wind Mobile (inb4 Wind doesnt have 4G, they do, in specific areas, such as mine) i thought i'd flash the phone with the SM-g900w8 firmware from Wind mobile.
when i tried i got a Secure Check Fail: aboot message on the phone, and odin just immediatly fails.
im obviously doing something wrong here, and im guessing its going to be simple as hell to someone whos more experienced than i, so i thought i'd come ask here:
(TLDR here) How do i get my SM-G900t (that thinks its a SM-G900F at the moment) to think its a SM-G900W8 without getting "Secure check fail" messages?
before anyone asks: That samsung re-register thing is off.
to me it sounds like your phone settings are not on lte/gsm or lte/wdcma/gsm if your talking about additional 4g lte bands you could folloe this guide by fffft http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s5/general/how-to-add-rf-lte-frequency-bands-to-t2886059
P.s DONE NOT FLASH SM-g900w8 firmware on tmobile variant you WILL BRICK. plus it wouldnt solve your problem.

Stupid question, why would it brick?
Questions belong in Q&A, not General.
Thank you.
Hey guys hope this is the right thread for this. I have a verizon s5 thats unlocked using tmobile sim card. Im in the states.... so question is if I root this put whatever rom on it will it cause any issues?? Ive read a lot of conflicting info so im not sure what to do. I loose 4g lte quite a bit and cant use it as a hotspot for my tablet.

I have a Verizon s5 rooted using it with net 10 in the states just fine. I have some issues with not being able to get data to turn off on the custom roms. It should work with tmo, though I really couldn't tell you if you would be able to keep 4g.

You ca keep 4G only if the area has a good reception afterall t mo uses Band 4 which luckily gs5 verizon supports, for the hotspot youll need to use foxify free on google playstore or since your rooted get the latest stock update from the general section ill suggest you use the OD5 by @muniz_ri http://forum.xda-developers.com/ver...w-to-update-to-g900vod5-5-0-keeproot-t3136945 dowload that rom and flash the tether fix zip

I posted this a little while back if you get root give it a try. You can put T-mobile roms on the verizon s5.

It's been awhile sense ive been on here. While I was here there was a different guy working on the cm12 port and with that he spent a lot of time getting GSM working on the Sprint version. Now it's someone else and its for all variants so its been really difficult to find out what the process is. For most phones you have to do something special before flashing but it didn't seem that way last year when I had the phone. I want to give it to my daughter's mother who is on gsm straight talk. After rooting the device could I simply just flash any custom rom and gsm is instantly available or is there another step I'm missing. Ive searched a bit through the Q&A and general but because all variants share the same section I can't find a direct answer for my Sprint model.
Could someone please direct me in the right direction

1- You root the phone
2- You use this (easiest way): http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/general/apk-flash-twrp-autorec-thanks-to-t3081396
3- You flash what you want
& next time, post question in the Q/A thread please.
Thank you! But to be clear. after rooting and flashing the recovery I can use any gsm sim and I don't have to do anything special, it'll just work (beyond me inputting the appropriate APN)
Yea sorry about not posting in Q&A.
