I'm tempted, if only for the 32GB internal storage. But I have the feeling this phone won't have access to Google Play and comes with some gotchas. I wish I had an extra $300, but unfortunately I don't.
Will someone with a large petty cash account please grab one and post a review?

There's no way they're selling an HD SAMOLED phone for 200$. I don't know how they did that - maybe just crappy defective AMOLEDs, or just false advertising. Doesn't look like AMOLED to me from the video.

android 4.2.2 is not special, since it is stock....
you can get 4.3 at the moment, and i bet is thousand times better than on this chinese phone....
200 usd is still too much.
The problem with these clones is you dont know what you will get really. They have horrible support and of course they will package it all in box thats the same as the real one.
Second, I guess we have to be careful to when buying the real ones too since they could sell us a fake!

There is something I can't, for the life of me, understand.
In the EU and the USA if I fake (let's cut the "clone", "faux" and other semantic crap, 'cause this is what it really is) a pair of jeans I might get arrested, get my a$$ sued by the company I faked the product from and have to pay a compensation to the company on top of all that.
In Asia, there are companies that produce fake copies of well known brands, go to the extent of printing those brand's logos on their products and nothing happens to them. Do they have a license from Samsung to use they name, logo, model names, etc., etc., etc.?
This not only happens with Samsung but with hundreds, maybe thousands of other brands and no one seems to take any real action. Why?
This has been going on for so long and is so widespread that many consumers start to deem this as "normal". Am I the only one who believes this is not normal, that this is piracy and hurts us consumers too? Most people who buy these fakes, be it a simple fake battery for your watch or a fake high-end smartphone end up regretting it sooner or latter. Just take the time to browser through eBay forums and the feedback of people who sell this stuff and you'll know what I mean.
Asian companies want to produce cheap phones? I'm fine with that. Make you own phones, name them whatever you like and sell them legitimately. Just don't try to sell cheap fakes pretending that they perform as well as the original and hurt legitimate businesses and consumers in the process.
People who don't show an inch of skepticism before buying deserves what they get IMO. Although what bothers me is how some are sold these clones as originals, that pisses me off top no end. Many have been deceived since it's really hard to notice the difference without thorough comparison. And yes, it is a crime and copyright violation - it's just that Asian countries have much lax law enforcement than europe. It's not legal to sell these phones or buy it I'd assume.

Lets be serious, now there are a lot of people who are going crazy over the iPhone 4..dude Apple releases iphones every year(and this year only being slightly more spec'd then my 6 month old nexus)....ANDROID HAS A WHOLE YEAR TO ADD EVEN MORE FEATURES..i say i feel sorry for apple..just my 2cents
..not to mention even gingerbread is going to be even bigger to me than when the smoke clear, and when even more android phones come out people will see the light...
I agree with you 100% but you got'a luv that video calling, c'mon who doesnt!? thats seriously the only ONE thing that would make me consider selling my Adrond and my hd2 for an iphone, but then I remeber its only on ATT, they haave the luxury of making their plans sooo expensive due to the demand on the iPhone, I dont like that!

Heh, funny thing is, I could do the same if I wanted to get locked into a contract honestly. At least, if I wanted a subsidized price.
But honestly, what's the point? I'd rather have everything all on one device.
dont get me wrong, its a cool feature to have video calling, but i honestly dont talk on the phone that much....plus its another way for crazy girlfriends to be nosy ...lmao not that i have that problem

As much as I hate apple, we can't ignore the hardware specs on iPhone 4. I do not see anyone trumping them anytime soon. Android is a good OS, but apple has very capable and quality hardware to go along with their OS and that's where they dominate.

First dual-core Snapdragon will be the MSM8260 (the HSPA part will likely lead the CDMA MSM8660). Aside from the modems, they're identical and clock in at 1.2GHz.
Just a bit of a guide:
MSM8x50: 1GHz single core (N1, Desire, Evo, Incredible, etc CPU). Only CPU in teh public now.
MSM8x50A: 1.3GHz single core. Die shrink (same CPU design, but literally shrunk via new technology reducing power consumption and heat output). Due late 2010
MSM8x60: 1.2GHz dual core. LTE support. 1080p decode. support for up to WXGA 1280 x 800 screen resolution. Due late 2010/Early 2011
MSM8x72: 1.5GHz dual core. Support for up to WSXGA screen resolution. (1440 x 9001080p encode/decode, full support for all Mobile TV solutions. MASSIVE overhaul of graphics unit, with it reportedly able to render 80M triangles/sec and 500M+ 3D pixels/sec. Reports have suggested a late 2010 launch, but given that the unit has yet to be mass produced for OEM testing, I don't expect it before 2011.
I wouldn't give up hope that either of the dual-core parts will show up in smartphones. They seem targeted at tablets and smartbooks. It will probably be end of 2011 before we see enough improvements in power consumption to see that kind of performance in a mobile handset.

Hmm.. I smell someone who doesn't know what HW means. What HW specs?
Maybe A4 with unknown frequency that was already trashed in its fastest 1GHz form by either overclocked Droid or Nexus + JIT (and will be blown to bits by any future CPU, at least from Qualcomm's line, seeing that currently in its 1GHz form in iPad it's already below the 1.3GHz Snapdragon), and current Samsung CPUs (in Samsung phones) having x3 more powerful graphics (and later Qualcomm CPUs improving the GPU as well)?
Or maybe 5MP camera with LED flash and 720p video recording and front-facing VGA one, that are available in Evo for some time now, and the already-released dual Snapdragon below supporting 1080p encode/decode?
Ah, you mean the display resolution.. in 1/2 year that'll be pushed even further.

What rumors? It's officially launched, both of them. Here's the dual core:

There are devices scheduled to appear with it until the end of the year (hoping that they'll actually make it on time). Can't say if there are any phones, though.
again, I had video calling since 2007 over 3g on my N80 and it was free on my 3 network. LoL and now Steve says "BOOM video calling" and all people going crazy about it. Go to Asia or Europe it´s just normal and something you rarely use.

Agree that Apples idea of video conferencing is far too limited. If they really wanted to do something right, they could have worked on a standard everyone could have shared, and enabled it regardless of how your are connected.

I think your smell-o-scope is broken. I know a certain professor who can help you
Processor clock speed is just one of the performance parameter of a CPU and on its own means nothing. I will, actually, go further and say, CPU specs alone means nothing to me. It's the total package that counts. I will buy a 2.2GHz thinkpad over 2.6Ghz inspiron laptop and even pay few hundred dollars more. Because I am paying for the whole thing, the chassis, better hard drive, etc... Inspiron cheaps out and thinkpad does not.
Let's go back to phones,
Show me one SINGLE phone that has these specs ( or even any phone that will be launched within a year)
1) Processor capable of doing intense graphics (OpenGL 2.0, HD video)
2) Display with 326 pixel density (Note: resolution alone means nothing. It's pixel density that costs more money)
3) IPS panel. To give you an idea, 24" TN panel costs about $200, IPS $400
4) Tri-axial accelerometer.
5) Triaxial gyroscope
6) 720p video capable camera
7) front facing camera
8) Gorilla class glass
9) Noise canceling mic
10) Pentaband 3G. I travel and i know the importance of it.
11) Wireless n card
these all together are hardware. not just CPU
Let me reiterate my hate of steve jobs and company. However, apple has not cheaped out on this phone and let's appreciate that. I have always said, HTC cheaps out very regularly. I do not think I need to present any proofs of that, search on XDA.
Having said all this, I like my freedom and I will stay with Android. But i will not wear a fanboy hat to defend HTC or google nor will I post rants against them. But please, lets appreciate what other companies are doing good. that too in a socialized manner.
Im gonna move to the iphone 4 inspite losing flash support but getting a high res display nearly like the first webbooks AND hd video recording WITH A SOUND and not this ****y noise/crap audio the nexus one is recording on videos...
whatever guys, i get both!
hahaha
I have to admit the iphone4 is pretty impressive...but its not enough for me to buy one.
I still love my nexus and flash.

Hmm, I see your point. But I think it's not that simple.
I can show you phones that have subset of the features: 1, 6, 7, 9, 11.
Be surprised, Nexus supports OpenGL 2.0 and HD video (if you mean 720p). So does Evo.
Evo supports 720p and has front facing camera.
I'm sure you know Nexus also has noise canceling mic and wireless N. Evo lacks the mic.
Display DPI, another axle in accelerometer, gyroscope and glass (?) aside - they're advanced. Might be important, might be as needless as noise cancelling mic (the only thing it's good for, it seems, is not allowing people to speak to the phone from a distance). Pentaband is a function of antennas, which might be supported on current HW (need to ask RF people, don't have enough knowledge to tell).
On the other hand, how do you compare lacking features? For example, being so excited about DPI, how do you compare smaller or larger screen sizes - what counts as an advantage? OLED vs IPS paned LCD - for what reason do manufacturers need to go back, Samsung already proved that OLED can be made to work great in direct sunlight? How do you compare lack of HDMI out, weak camera, lack of WiMAX/LTE support, lack of removable battery (for as simple a reason as being capable to execute forced shutdown, for example)?
I'm far from being a fanboy for any technology. It's just technology.
P.S. And even if I dig into specs of future phones that aren't rumored on the net yet, I wouldn't disclose them on the forum, don't you think?
As the title says: what hardware feature would you most want to change or improve in a Galaxy S 2? Vote above, but only 1 selection allowed, as being the enthusiasts we are we'd tick almost everything.
Note that we're assuming GPS/lag wouldn't exist here, and this is purely for hardware. Let's just say it's running stock 3.0 Gingerbread.
And hey, if someone at Samsung happens to glance at this...all the better!
Wifi reception
Not so much a feature, but I'd request that they outsource their software development to another company.
Pentile-less samoled (samoled-2?) screen, gyroscope (and apps which supports it), better speaker (not like new htc nonsense slider WP7 phone, but good ol' loud-as-hell speaker).

Haha I fully agree. I believe that the sgs right now is a pretty good device that can maybe be improved by extra core and better file system. Its not hardware that needs changing its the software.

My vote goes to battery. Still waiting for the fuel cells that we where promised where the next big thing in 2006. Or was it 2003. Or was it ...
I want my gadgets to be usable for - days. Or longer
Second vote would be speed. Can never get enough of that either. Never had a laptop thats fast enough, never had a desktop thats fast enough. And now that the gadgetfactor of phones have reached ascension, phone not fast enough.
Gah! Why only one choice?
All of the above, minus hardware keyboard and better camera (as for screen, size is ok, though resolution could be improved). + notification LEDs
With that superme hardware but . .. . Software still like this . . . I would not buy it from ss.
I would say audio -- it's amazing that the recording lag on this thing is about 200ms. Add output lag 100ms to that --> makes multitracker software useless (hence there aren't any). One reason I bought SGS was to record song ideas when they came to mind -- guitar, vocs, drum loop. FALE.
TBH: take Desire HD, slap samsung sticker on it, add Swype. Done.
But yeah, working GPS module and camera flash would be lovely, more RAM could be sweet.
The actual camera is amazing as is, if you go to video mode, the 720p recording is beautiful.
The current rear speaker is quite powerful for its size, clarity is nice too, bigger would be bad, if you really need bigger, get some car audio gear installed in your jacket...
As far as battery life goes, since installing Froyo, battery life seems to have gone up. and there's always the 3200mAh aftermarket bat, but if you have enough time to run a battery flat in a day, you surely have a USB port or powerpoint handy all-day.
I think they came close to spot on with hardware(*cough*flash*cough* ), but if more phones come out with Swype, it could be game-over for Samsung...

Haha I fully agree. I believe that the sgs right now is a pretty good device that can maybe be improved by extra core and better file system. Its not hardware that needs changing its the software.

They should concerntrate on hardware and let some of the devs here do software, coz there is better expertise and understanding around here.

They need everything :
1280x720 is probably the next logical step in resolution
4-4.3" display
minimum 1.5 GHz single core or 1 GHz dual core
bare minimum 768 MB of ram, probably even 1GB
either SDXC support or more internal memory
camera flash on all devices
better GPU would be nice, but it's already the fastest so this should not be the priority
make it even slimmer
First of all a good software and better support, and avaiable accesories:
· Dual core 1.5Ghz with better graphics (with real JIT)
· 1 GB ram (REAL)
· 12 MP cam dual (flash-xenon), 1080p video record 60fps continuous autofocus
· Mini HDMI
· 4" to 4.5" SAMOLED 720 resolution
· Extended Battery live (2000mAh)
· 32GB internal memory + 4GB ROM + MicroSD (NO RFS)
· Android 3.0
· Solid construction
· Working GPS
All this in less than 150gr and about 1 cm of thick, 500€, this has much more future that 7" tab!!!!
Coming on summer 2011
BTW if samsung ever wanna buy again its products then have to invest more in Galaxy S support and development.
I should stop saying impossibles for samsung. xD
Id like to see
1. dual gpu/cpu
2. Wifi that works for more than 30 seconds
3. Minimum 1gb ram

For me, with Voodoo the Galaxy S is powerful enough for me. Obviously that'll change next year, but my own preferences would actually be:
1) Build quality - take some tips from HTC, the Desire and Nexus One look and feel great and are very solidly constructed. My old HTC Hero never needed a case.
2) Battery - I've always noticed, it doesn't matter how many apps I have going in the background or live wallpapers, it's the time spent with the screen turned on that sucks all the juice
3) RAM - increase to 768mb / 1gb and maybe we'll get 512 usable! haha
4) Screen - would love it to be upped to 4.3" while still SAMOLED and pushed up to something like 1024 x 600 or just use regular RGB instead of Pentile RGBG
I wouldn't add any hardware, but I'd add to all the available versions of this phone world-wide the same firmware feature that is present in the Korean version , namely the native "record call" function.

Oh yeah, should have had that in the poll: Galaxy S hardware and software identical worldwide other than CDMA or GSM bands, so we don't have to have this divide between the US, Canadian, Korean and European/Oceanic roms.
We've been discussing "upgrading" from the Nexus One to the Nexus S. Here's something to challenge that idea.
Below is a comparison between Nexus S and Galaxy S. I was compelled to post this, because of Galaxy S' Micro SD card, gorilla glass, availability here in my area and Nexus S software ports.
Nexus S' advantages over Galaxy S include
Google brand (and the software that comes with it)
NFC
contour display
Nexus S advantages over some Galaxy S units
price (in many cases)
unlocked (vs. some Galaxy S units)
front-facing camera
camera flash
complete 4 buttons (back, home, menu, search)
Galaxy S' advantages over Nexus S include
Micro SD Slot
availability (international + many carriers)
Gorilla Glass
Bluetooth 3.0 (vs. Bluetooth 2.1 on Nexus S)
Other factors are hard to measure, like community support, so feel free to suggest pros and cons then I'll add them to this post.
Should we switch to Galaxy S instead of the Nexus S? I know, dual cores are just around the corner, but being the basis of the latest Nexus is what sets the Galaxy S apart.
I'd have to vote for plan C... sticking with the Nexus One
T-zones / Web2Go are not 100% confirmed to be working yet on the Nexus S and DEF dont work on the Galaxy S.
The only phone really worth upgrading to is another phone that can use T-zones / Web2Go...
Me to, plan C, Sexyy Nexyy 1

s or vibrant
Been reviewing both forums for these phones and vibrant seems more developer friendly with custom roms and all just the like the nexus 1 but probably more developers. I recently trade my n1 for an iphone 4, jailbroke it and not really caring for it plus I would be on edge network only unless I made switch to At&t.
Vibrant I can pick up for $200-300 locally, nexus S new or trade the iphone. I can sell the iphone for $500 and get a new nexus S with 30 day trial, which I think Im leaning towards currently. Stuck on what to choose, going to test out vibrant today at tmobile and make a decision.
PROS
Hands on with the nexus S last night, I do like the contour shape of the phone, display is very nice! Very quick OS, Camera didnt really try out. Home buttons always a plus, display ,
cons...
price isn't too bad, gingerbread custom roms, like cyanogen. Phone does feel alittle cheap, thats pretty much all I can think of. No external memory, wiping data and flashing roms would this be an issue? although 16gb is plenty
Vibrant?? pros save up to $300, custom roms (gingerbread ported over), display, external memory
cons...no home buttons?
Front camera dont really care for. Google brand and updates.
You can get the nexus s for 200 on contract you know?

D = Keep N1 for now, get the next HTC Google Experience phone when it comes out.
HTC will not fail like Samsung! All they need to do is take the N1 and modify it with the following:
- 3.7in --> 4.0in
- 512mb RAM --> 1gb RAM
- 512mb internal --> 16/32gb internal
- 1ghz CPU --> 1.2ghz dual-core
- add front-facing camera
- add micro-HDMI port
- KEEP THE MICRO SD CARD!!!!!
- 8mpx Camera - possibly dual flash
- for the love of God, keep the BACK button where it is
- casing = N1. Same exact one please. Not a ebay.china 99 cent plastic cover
499$
booya. I'll take 2. thanks.
I agree with some here, I have no probs with my NexusOne so i am keeping it - if only the Nexus S had 4G I would reconsider but I want the most pure Google experience which does not include the Galaxy...

Q.T.F.
or in other words, WANT!!!
Not sure why everyone is so blinkered about the N1. It is / was a good phone for its time, however, its definitely not perfect. Interesting to see the crap soft buttons and rubbish touch screen not mentioned in some of these posts.
To be fair, HTCs "best" offering is the Desire HD, which, UI improvements aside (not what we're looking at here anyway) is no better really in many respects than the Nexus S, and I'm no samsung fanboy by any stretch... but the DHD may have an 8Mp camera and 4.3" screen, but the screen still leaves lots to be desired, and the camera isn't great. Add to that the terrible battery life, and really, HTCs finest could be better.
Hopefully the next gen google phone will have dual core and tegra 2 with gingerbread... or better.

And even after that - it lags (only a few times but QUAD S4! - unforgivable), no removable battery and fugliest interface ever. It'll definitely wipe other phones... so they can look shiny and new.
Until ofc. it gets proper CM10 - THEN it'll kill.

Sorry didn't get completely what you meant to say my bad
Maybe now the s4 pro owners will be able to use emulators at full speed xD on dual crait the SoC sucked totally at this point^^ personally I dont care about this^^ my s3 int. is still better imo the only thing my phone lacks is LTE, but at the time I got it it wasnt available at europe.
I'm sorry to say this but this beat the hell out of our S3 in general...
But i'm happy for two reasons...
1)Lg's ui sucks...
And
2)When we'll have android 4.2,5.0 or whatever they'll still be stuck in the previous version as always!
As this thread is off topic and will probably be locked soon, i just wanna say i personally would forget about anything LG releases. Take a look at their 'flagship' optimus 2x and the fact that it was released when gingerbread was the latest and despite ics and jellybean's release, it is still on gingerbread today! I have absolutely zero confidence in LG in terms of android upgrades and would never recommend anyone to buy an lg android phone.
My apologies for the off topic rant.. Just felt the need to put the warning out..

Launched with Ice Cream Sandwich? Seriously?
This thing has nice specs but software and device support is also just as important.
It's running an OS that was launched October of LAST YEAR, on top of it it will have LG's nasty UI overlay.

I will start by saying I'm really looking forward to have this 13MP camera.

samsung Galaxy s4
Well i like very much Samsung galaxy s4 than iphone 5. I like SmartPause and smart scolling fetures in this phone. i am very exciting for use this phone. really i want it as soon as possible.
Floating Touch. It was the main reason I wanted the Note 2 over the S3, only now I don't even need the s-pen. Everything else is a plus, but for my needs even the S3 specs with floating touch would be acceptable. BTW, I'm talking about the international S3 (I have the U.S. S3 and I'm sorely missing the Exynos features like Screen Modes and Multi Window ).
I like the....nothing there that is like-able....
I'll most probably buy the hTC One!
Dead cookies leave no trails...
Ha ha I should've know and be more specific on the OP. No need to post here if you don't like anything(I personally think it's impossible but..). The thread is "What do you like the most?"
The 5 inch 1080P super AMOLED display is what i really am looking forward to.
Sv: What spec do you like the most in the S4 and will you buy it?
Nothing in terms of hardware specs has impressed me since every spec in the s4 has been out for a while now,
Actually I would choose any screen over amoled since it has very inaccurate colors, like my tan friends turns extremely orange in their pics, my blue clothes turns crystal blue, dark red turns red and worst of all dark areas details can't be seen as good as other screens as everything turns darker as it shouldn't be, white pixels looks gray
The camera is also something that isn't special, Sony have been used the same camera specs for long now, and sorry for hating but music playback has been worst with previous galaxy's compared to HTC and Sony,
And last the wipe hand over screen thing is the worst I have seen in screen development since it takes much more energy to do and gets slower to scroll between pictures and is also looking retarded to do in public than just simply swipe with your fingers, only thing that was good was the eye tracking thing, but that is software and would be easy for me to port while having a front face camera and root
Also Samsung provides system updates that is full of bugs so that they send you hundreds of versions of for example ics or jb, they are not testing everything properly before releasing their updates, I have no clue if this was a problem for s3 users but my s2 user friends complained a lot about it but I hope they has improved since that
It isn't worth upgrading to s4 from s3 since all software things will easily be portable and software was the only new stuff in the s4, as a big company as Samsung I'm very unimpressed of what they provided us
I would go for the xperia z because of waterproofing, design and it's until now positive chock resistance showed in all drop tests, music playback and it's top specs as Samsung and HTC have,
Second choice would be HTC ONE since HTC has the best screens ever applied on android phones, but the 4ultra pixel thing is actually something that I ain't interested of
Once again sorry for hating but these are my opinions and I respect others opinions

I think we've all heard that before. Settings->Display->Screen Mode/Display Mode->Movie/Cinema = goodbye inaccurate colors. The LTE versions of the S2 and the U.S. S3 don't have that option since they use Adreno GPU's and no option was written for it. Plus the Galaxy S2 Skyrocket has strange screen colors compared to the other models.

So? The camera software is just as important in determining image quality as the hardware, and Sony's image processing has been observed as subpar compared to what Samsung has done on their devices.

Only the the S2, and that was the exception rather than the rule due to a poorly implemented Yamaha chip. The original Galaxy S and the S3 had far cleaner audio output then HTC and Sony's competition at the time. The international One X in particular had some pretty bad audio distortion. The HTC One using the Snapdragon chip is finally up to par with Samsung's low distortion and clean output.

While HTC and Sony don't provide any updates so you have bugs AND outdated software. I can't speak for the S2, but the S3 and Note 2 seem to be doing pretty well in the software department.
Only reason for me was the Exynos 5410, as the Snapdragon SoCs are disappointing to say the least. Samsung have still not confirmed which regions are getting the Octa, but based on the pre-orders most countries are going to be getting the s600 variant.
Battery size, RAM, SD Card slot, Screen size, CPU, camera resolution, improved build quality, and weight. I'm getting this phone because the Nexus 4 was a huge disappointment and I lost faith in hoping the next one will be a worthy replacement for my Galaxy Nexus.

The original Galaxy S and the S3 had far cleaner audio output then HTC and Sony's competition at the time. The international One X in particular had some pretty bad audio distortion. The HTC One using the Snapdragon chip is finally up to par with Samsung's low distortion and clean output.
How is swiping your hand above the screen taking more energy than swiping your hand on the screen? I'm not even sure if you're talking about Air Gestures or Floating Touch, which have completely different purposes.
You better get started then.
While HTC and Sony don't provide any updates so you have bugs AND outdated software. I can't speak for the S2, but the S3 and Note 2 seem to be doing pretty well in the software department.

As said I would never choose amoled, even changing the screen calibration the screen will be inaccurate in terms of colors, full HD isn't something to talk about, Samsung isn't the only providing it(almost all manufactured 2013 devices) but I see full HD as something negative, it's almost impossible to see the pixels in HD screens and more pixels would be something unnecessary taking A LOT of battery.
USB 3.0: I'm not even connecting my phone to the pc anymore since I can use it as my pc instead,
loading the battery, HDMI output and DLNA has been the only thing necessary for me in terms of connecting
About camera software, that would be even easier to port but I only need to download Photoshop touch and I would have all these features, and if you haven't seen yet since 2012 Sony released a lot of camera features to the xperia v which is also included in the upcoming and released devices, even thou it was released long before s4 they approve much more features than what the Samsung software provides.
If you are wondering the s3 software has already been ported since long ago and it wouldnt be harder to port the s4 software since it is still running on android.
About the swiping one again, would you look normal to interact with your phone as with humans? Wouldn't it take more energy to swipe your whole hand infront of your screen than with a finger? The finger is also much faster than swiping the whole hand...
About the image quality, old xperia arc was processing much better and sharper pics than all of the s2 models, and if you want to compare xperia z's cam pictures with Samsung's s4 it would be fair since both are 2013 devices, and s3 compared to even my old xperia ion is nothing and don't complain of pixels
About updates it was Sony Ericsson that had update issues, since Sony started they updated even the Ericsson devices, and if you are complaining about the Xperia Play then they wrote why it wouldn't get updated since ics is taking far more performance and the xperia play was a gaming phone
About floating touch, I have had the xperia sola with that feature, I barely used it ands it sucked a lot of battery when used, the galaxy seems to use it all the time in the other hand which will take even more battery along with having the front camera in use all the time tracking you, so that 2600mah won't help you having your phone without charging more than one day
In terms of design, will they ever do something different to other galaxy's? Will they ever change that plastic body which gives the user a cheap feel holding the device? And designed after nature, wtf is that, a plastic stone?
Something still not clear?
Please don't feel offended as I like to argue

Sv: What spec do you like the most in the S4 and will you buy it?
1080p Display, 13MP camera, Floating Touch, 5" screen & 4.2.2 (really wanted KLP).
I can't wait to get my mitts on it! & neither can my sis-in-law.
Oh I'm so glad I specified to write what people LIKE otherwise people would've start writing what they don't like and the thread would be a mess.

Well I have atleast learnt that you should see stuff from different perspectives to be able to make the most accurate decisions, anyways sorry if I was disturbing

Well, I really like the design of the S4. It's a smaller Note 2. I think it's the perfect size for me after 4 months of using the Note 2.
I like the new Exynos 5 Octa and I like the screen (want to test Gorilla Glass 3 so badly ).
I will definitely buy it but I need to sell my Note 2 (I wouldn't sell it right now because I don't want to use one month my old Nokia).

I have the same problem. I really want it but I want the Exynos 5 Octa version that will only come out on Q2(2nd Quarter) So I have to wait. In the mean timeI will just drool watching the people who will buy it first.:silly:
Feature I like the most (compared to S3 / Note2) : IR LED, seriously
Will I buy it : no, I'll keep my Note2. It is just an incremental upgrade over the S3 anyways so it doesn't worth the money IMHO.

You're absolutely right, the only thing is, there's a lot of discussion thread out there about people criticizing the SGS4.
Here is my theory on complainers (100% not scientific)
Except for some (really few) real expert, most(not all) S4 haters don't have any valid points. All I see is a bunch of kids with unrealistic expectations and another bunch of frustrated HTC fanboy raiding on Samsung's forum like jealous bullies. (I'm not pointing fingers at anyone, if the hat fits you....)
People think they look more intelligent when they criticize about something(it’s called Illusory superiority). It makes you think they know something that you don't. But the real intelligent people are the one who can see beyond the surface. The SGS4 is an EVOLUTION of KING SGS3.
SGS4 might not be perfect but the fact that some people can't find one single good thing about it, proves that they are totally dishonest and probably iphone or HTC agents.

What? It doesn't matter the technology behind it AMOLED, LCD, etc., two displays calibrated to the same target will have exactly the same colors (except that AMOLED will have a much higher contrast ratio, which is actually a good thing). The S4 comes with aRGB (Adobe RGB) and sRGB (Movie) settings out of the box so you don't even have to do the hard work. There are wide-gamut LCD displays that also won't have accurate colors out of the box because they're not working in the standard sRGB color space. That's what sRGB emulation and color managed applications are for.

Well, that's not a very good argument. Would you consider the S4 superior if it launched with another 720p display?

So you admit that the S4 is doing things that no other phone does?

I'm not talking about colorful filters, I'm talking about the quality of the images written by the phone. Things like color balance, noise reduction, etc. are things Samsung has beaten their competitors at in the past, so there's no reason to believe the S4 won't be at least as good or better than the 13MP Xperia shots. And you can't use Photoshop Touch for things like dual camera recording, the ability to create GIF's with a static background using just the camera app, etc.

So I expect you to get this done in no time once the S4 is out.

If you're using the phone with one hand (which is the only case I can think if in which you'd be moving your finger without moving the rest of your hand...unless you just like to use your phone strangely), then obviously you wouldn't be using the air gestures. I don't see how dragging your finger along the glass has any advantage to moving your hand or finger over the device. The whole hand thing is only for the air gestures, which are more for convenience, whereas floating touch is actually useful like using a mouse with your device.

Really? Reviews called the Ion's camera "average" ( http://www.gsmarena.com/sony_xperia_ion_att-review-784p6.php ), and all the top smartphone camera shootouts have the S3/Note 2 either right behind or tied with the iPhone 5, while other devices were noticeably worse.

Excuses. Samsung is still the most consistent Android manufacturer in terms of updates by far. All of their flagships get updates and new features while the confusing distribution across carriers of other OEM devices are left hoping.

So you've used the S4? Sorry Samsung can't do anything about Sony's poor implementation of a feature. I've left Smart Stay on on my S3 when I was running stock and I didn't have any problems with battery life.

Why would they change their design direction? People vote with their wallets, and their devices are outselling competing Android phones by the truckload.
PLEASE someone tell me the S4 has FM radio?
