Right now I'm on MDL using Blu-Kuban ROM. I plan on trying to upgrade to a MF9 ROM. If I then use a nandroid restore of my current MDL ROM, It will revert me back to MDL correct?
Thanks!

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I'm prettyy sure it will... except for your baseband which will stay MF9.
Also questions go in Q&A buddy, expect this to be moved very soon.
Nope the nan droid will not taken you back to MDL. The firmware will remain mf9 along with the modem. You shouldn't have a problem switching back and forth though.

So I just flashed the 'Premium GS4' ROM to try it out and all of a sudden I get the MF4 system update notice. It wasn't telling me that before on my stock ROM, but now it is.
Should I update to it or just flash back? I wanted to try out the Blu Kuban ROM anyway.

I think you mean MF9 system update notice. This is probably because the update may have just been pushed out to the phones in your area.
Not many ROMs posted are updated to MF9 yet so you may get this on any MDL ROM you flash - I'm guessing that the Premium GS4 ROM is.
Do NOT update, since you are on a custom ROM it will fail and could cause some file errors.

Potentially dumb question here but I tried searching and couldn't find an answer...
If my current setup is: rooted, stock MDL and I want to flash a ROM (specifically Xousos v.2.0 found in the android development forum) that states it is based on MF9 do I need to upgrade my stock version prior to flashing the new ROM? Is that a frivolous step or is it necessary?
Thanks in advance!
Thanked you on accident. No you don't. Just wipe data/cache/dalvik then flash the ROM. Flash the mf9 modem if you want that too.

Thanked you on purpose. :good:
Thanks for the info
question - I have that ROM and love it so far. I don't know what an mf9 modem is though. Am I missing something I should have?

I'm getting ready to flash a custom Rom (Graviton) on my AT&T sgh-i337, I read that I need to use a rom slot to flash to, but then I also read rom slots aren't supported in Safestrap 3.72....what should I do?
what's your build
see this--post 1385

And read up in OP of All Things MK2 etc

I don't use SafeStrap, but recommend reviewing the MK2 thread I linked. You can post there too--:0

Well I just went ahead and went for it lol...since you said I couldn't brick my phone I took the chance and just upgraded to NC1 and flashed the rom on my stock slot. After making a nandroid backup of course. Thanks for the guidance though it was much appreciated.

Ok, I have been running an OLD version of SACs custom ROM for a while (Pre Kitkat I think).
I am considering going back to stock Rooted with the Hotspot mod only.
I've been out of the "flashing" scene for a while, so what's the easiest way to go back to current stock w/ rooted & hotspot mod? If you could point me in the right direction, I would appreciate it!
1. Please don't post questions in the development forum.
2. Find Unknownforce's stock rooted NAE thread.
3. Read and follow his directions.

Ahh... Sorry. I was looking at this forum and the Q&A forum at the same time. Thought I was posting in there.
Thanks, I'll look up his.
Been reading different threads. So if I just flash i Rooted NAE ROM I should be ok? I just want to make sure since I am coming from an OLD version of SACS.

You'll probably have to Odin the NAE modem as well. Somewhere in unknown's thread are the instructions to do and keep a pre Knox bootloader
Ok, 1 more question...
If I want to go back to complete stock from the old SACS Rom...
Could I just flash a stock MDL to my phone and then tell the phone to update it's self and let it OTA update to current version?
Would there possible be any problems with that?
Just curious as I have an old stock MDL already on my computer from when I was flash long ago.
I know this way I would have KNOX but I honestly don't really care too much.
That will take a bit, but will work for sure.

You should not do this! If you have a newer bootloader than the MDL install will fail. All you need to do is download the full NAE tar file and install it. You will be updated in one step and you won't lose data. you can get the full NAE tar from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2663619
I've an L720 on 4.2.2 getting MF9 OTA. I'm rooted and have TWRP 2.6 on it.
Don't believe I can install this update, but is there a way to flash or fastboot it on?
What are my options?
You'll probably get more help posting this in general. Not in development. That's not what this forum is for.
