The Value Pack for P1010 is out

Today on sam firmware, a new ROM is avaliable for P1010, I downloaded and tested, the news? New Lockscreen, Face unlock and a Photo Editor. Only these things.

I think this is the last update... Maybe, with soo luck... Samsung port Google Now(I guess not) well, if anyone here see another new, tell here.
Edit: Theres a new firmware from China, not tested.
Quickly tested, flashed it with odin from kpi without wipe : seems smoother at first glance.
I hope for a working cf-root soon ;-)

My p1010 is dead. I don't know how! The battery was 3%~4% and I turn off the screen and try to turn on, but the tab doesn't wanted to turn on, I tried to use force reboot, plug on odin, all these things and nothing happens, anyone has this problem?
Did you try to let it charge for an hour then long press on/off button?

Of couse man! Here my reasons:
-Tegra 3, very, very better than p1010.
-Updates by Google, that means you will have update in one month.
-A loooot of developers
-Nice screen
-Cheap
-Jelly Bean.
-Cheap
other things.

The tab is back to the normal. LOL
Flashed the new KPO software (had to do it twice). The new software has a new lockscreen and may be a little smoother. All apps worked, but no root. I tried to root with the madteam KPI CWM root and found that the WiFi and bluetooth did not work. I had done a Nandroid backup so I restrored to the KPI software. I didn't see enough of an improvement to stay with KPO and lose root.

I had many stability problems with KPI (tablet freezing from time to time), with KPO those problems seem gone and I notice overall speed is much better.
Moreover I never did manage to have a working root on KPI since motafoca's CWM/cf-root caused reboots every time /system was accessed, so, all in all....I'll keep this KPO for now

Thanks for your recommendation. Here is what I did:
Originally rooted on KPI with Madteam CWM.
1. Copied WIFI (system/etc/wifi folder) from KPI to my external sd card.
2. Downloaded KPO via Odin.
3. Downloaded Madteam CWM.
4. Copied KPI WIFI to system/etc/wifi in KPO. This replaced the KPO files and wifi worked.
Now have a rooted working KPO.
Thanks again.
Will give this ago later on thanks and let you know as well if it works then happy days

Moving apps to ExtSD

Hi guys,
I've just recently bought my Tab 2 10.1" (P5110) with 16GB (with only 12 GB I can actually use), and decided to turn it into a gaming device. I started installing some heavy games from the Market but after only like, 6 of them, I started running out of space. I inserted a 32GB SDCard but I don't know how can I move some of my apps there, and would like some assistance.
Another question, since I can't post in devforum: I rooted my device following this guide:

ever since then I am trying to update to 4.0.4 using Settings > About > Update , and I can't, getting some kind of signature invalid error.
Help updating will also be really appreciated.
For games try apps like directory bind, gl2sd or app2sd may work
For updates Try to flash a stock firmware from www.samfirmware.com choose firmware 4.0.4 for you device if you use mobile odin pro paid version from market then you can keep root and will not have to root again by checking everroot option in setting

GL2SD works fine for me. I am successfully running with a 64GB external SD. So nice to move the large data directories over to the external SD. Not the most elegant interface, but it works.
Update.... I am now running Directory Bind - and it is by far the best solution.
sygic satnav software allows you to manually move the large map folder to the EXT SD with out a problem, if they can do it, why cant others

On the first question: some good advices have already been given. You can also check in the settings of your games: maybe they allow to to specify a data path on the external sd card.
On the second question: this is normal. You have rooted your device and therefore the (Samsung) update via settings does not work anymore. Instead you have to flash a 4.0.4 (or 4.1.1) rom of your liking.

An addition: after flashing a rom you will always keep root automatically.

[info] how to install android on intel comuters

1.Download android x86 iso from here
http://www.android-x86.org/
2.To install arm apps on android x86 use arm translator
for that you need to download 3 libraries from Buildroid and copy them into the system folder (so make sure you select to install the /system directory as read-write while installing Android-X86!):
Since the latest Android-X86 uses an ARM translator, not all ARM applications will work, for instance, Google Chrome won't work. Angry Birds (as well as Amazing Alex) on the other hand, worked in my test using a custom Android-X86 build in VirtualBox, though it was kind of slow (probably because of VirtualBox):
I'm sure there are readers who are wondering if Netflix works with this new Android-X86 release, but unfortunately I can't answer to this question because Netflix doesn't work in my country so if you try Netflix with Android-X86 4.0.4 RC2, let us know if it works in the comments!
you can download arm translater from here
http://www.webupd8.org/2012/07/android-x86-404-ics-rc2-released-with.html
3.To install the ISO either write it to a cd or burn it to a pendrive using unetbootin or usb installer.

Okay .. wow.. there must be a back-door/virus in these builds!?!
How can such an UGLY website be the only place to get working 4.2 previews for x86?!
The AOSP 4.2.1 2013-01-24 was a bit portly (182mb) but it ran like a top on my virtual PC and I'm off to try it on the laptop/carpc.
Up until now I'd been running 2.3.7 as it's the only build that would work with everything, but it's getting old fast!

Lappy did NOT boot from it. Much sadness followed and I'm still on the hunt for any 4.x releases that will run on my older `Centrino` class laptop. I'm not expecting full support, I'd be fine with USB blue-tooth, even USB WiFi, all I want for it to do is boot with the CPU/audio/graphics chipset combo I have in the laptop.
It'd be so nice to have it booting droid native vs. only being able to run it in VirtalBox.

Thanks for understanding and for helping to keep XDA neat and tidy!
Flash Drive not appearing in MultiROM
Having some problems here...
I successfully installed Lollipop on my external flash drive, messed around with it for a bit then I deleted it. The problem is, now when trying to do install PA 4.6 (not sure of the version), the usb drive isn't even appearing in MultiROM as an option. At the same time though, it's available when I load my current ROM (KK 4.4.4). Any ideas as to what my be going wrong? (Tried multiple drives, refreshing).
Edit: Think I've figured it out. Reformatted it to exFat and it's working now (was pretty sure I'd used NTFS before, but guess I was mistaken).

Update within Multi-Rom
Hi guys, i hope this question hasn't been asked too many times but there are over 100 pages, I looked through a bunch but didn't see it asked.
I have the Google Nexus 5 and it came with 4.4.4. I rooted and all the other good stuff, downloaded multi-rom and tried out some roms, everything works great I found a 5.0 lollipop stock rom that I'm happy with and would like to continue using for now via multi-rom.
I recently just had a pop up on my phone saying System update available to 5.0.1, my question is can i download and install this update even though I'm running multi-rom? Is there anything I need to know before doing it?
I appreciate any help.
Thanks!
USB-OTG is un-seletable in twrp-multirom.
Hello,
I am having problems mounting USB-OTG drives using multirom v30. When I go into the mount option in TWRP USB-OTG is un-selectable and refuses to mount my usb drive. I have tried multiple usb drives to no avail, it simply will not let me select USB-OTG in the mount options. Any help is appreciated.
I take it no one views this thread! It sucks, I have less than 10 posts and can only post here. I am still having this issue if anyone is interested in helping. I would like to install all of my secondary rom's onto an external usb drive. This is supposed to be possible in multirom but I cannot get this to work...

Ubuntu as main ROM
I've noticed there's special kernels for different versions of Android, but can I use Ubuntu Desktop as my main ROM?
I already have Ubuntu Desktop 13.04 installed on my Nexus 7 (2012) and I would rather not lose all my data and changes I had to make for it to work properly, however, I would also like to be able to use Android.

3. Ubuntu Desktop
Ubuntu desktop for*Nexus 7*has been discontinued and is no longer updated. 13.04 is the last release.
Download Ubuntu 13.04 image from*here. Put the image in the memory of N7 or to USB flash drive and go to recovery. Select Advanced -> MultiROM -> Add ROM and choose "Ubuntu" as ROM type. Then select the Ubuntu's image and confirm. Clean installation of Ubuntu is 1.5gb big, and takes a while (10 minutes?) to install.
The first boot takes a bit longer, and 13.04 stays a while (30-60s) in console ("Enter login:") before the GUI shows up, so just wait a while.
Ubuntu ROM must not have spaces in name!*

That wasn't helpful at all, you just quoted how to install Ubuntu Desktop as a SECONDARY ROM.
I suppose it doesn't matter, because I formatted my device to have CyanogenMod 11 as the PRIMARY ROM.
But what I wanted was to have Ubuntu Desktop as the PRIMARY ROM, aka Internal.

If you have already install Ubuntu, What's the problem to set it as default ROM ?
