Today on sam firmware, a new ROM is avaliable for P1010, I downloaded and tested, the news? New Lockscreen, Face unlock and a Photo Editor. Only these things.
Link: http://www.sammobile.com/firmware/?page=3&t=3&o=1&m=GT-P1010&r=1#regiona
I think this is the last update... Maybe, with soo luck... Samsung port Google Now(I guess not) well, if anyone here see another new, tell here.
Edit: Theres a new firmware from China, not tested.
Quickly tested, flashed it with odin from kpi without wipe : seems smoother at first glance.
I hope for a working cf-root soon ;-)

My p1010 is dead. I don't know how! The battery was 3%~4% and I turn off the screen and try to turn on, but the tab doesn't wanted to turn on, I tried to use force reboot, plug on odin, all these things and nothing happens, anyone has this problem?
Did you try to let it charge for an hour then long press on/off button?

Of couse man! Here my reasons:
-Tegra 3, very, very better than p1010.
-Updates by Google, that means you will have update in one month.
-A loooot of developers
-Nice screen
-Cheap
-Jelly Bean.
-Cheap
other things.
---Edit:
The tab is back to the normal. LOL
Flashed the new KPO software (had to do it twice). The new software has a new lockscreen and may be a little smoother. All apps worked, but no root. I tried to root with the madteam KPI CWM root and found that the WiFi and bluetooth did not work. I had done a Nandroid backup so I restrored to the KPI software. I didn't see enough of an improvement to stay with KPO and lose root.

I had many stability problems with KPI (tablet freezing from time to time), with KPO those problems seem gone and I notice overall speed is much better.
Moreover I never did manage to have a working root on KPI since motafoca's CWM/cf-root caused reboots every time /system was accessed, so, all in all....I'll keep this KPO for now

Thanks for your recommendation. Here is what I did:
Originally rooted on KPI with Madteam CWM.
1. Copied WIFI (system/etc/wifi folder) from KPI to my external sd card.
2. Downloaded KPO via Odin.
3. Downloaded Madteam CWM.
4. Copied KPI WIFI to system/etc/wifi in KPO. This replaced the KPO files and wifi worked.
Now have a rooted working KPO.
Thanks again.
Will give this ago later on thanks and let you know as well if it works then happy days

Nope. We dont have a coder right now so all modifications were done by me to have a stable ICS. I took the zip that bronxitas made and added tweaks and removed files to make it faster and smoother. So i thought it would work because that zip was working fine.

Once you have successfully rooted your phone, you need to install 2ndInit <link here> (v2.3)

Hi,
maybe i can help you.
1.Download here the last quarz rom
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1768702
(Its beta! Its mean not perfect, but ran smotth.)
Put this on your sd.
2.Then you download gapps
minimal is enough, because your systemspace is not big.
Here a new link
http://www.uncledan.it/android-files/DefyGapps/Defy-Gapps-CM10.1-20121201-minimal.zip
And dont forget to put it on your sd.
Accu is full?
3.Restart your phone and by the blue led you push down.
4.Go in the custom or stable recovery, not stock.
5.Wipe data/factory reset.Before make a backup, when you want.
6.Install zip from sd.
Choose the rom, after this choose the gapps.
7.Restart
The first time need time. When is look like problem
pull out and in the battery. And make the handy on and wait.
PS:Read, read and read next time.
In the many threats they wrote how to install specific mods.
German is so much easier for me.
So i hope its help.
And i dont know why the people forget thanks after they take an answer.
Happy modding
I like acid sound mod 5 not 7 to improve the sound quality.
And jellyx make nice kernels for the last cm10s.
Thank you Joke19!
Could you please explain what is minimal gapps? Do I lose some functionality if I install minimal gapps instead of "full" gapps?
Danke!

So no, you won't lose functionality, and plus you can download any apps you want via the Play Store.

I've been using sevenrock's adjusted Quarx build. However, if you read past the post you will find YAFU's post offers his take on it. They might be outdated as I haven't seen many positive comments on the recent builds. Hopefully someone can give you a more updated opinion.
Edit: As Sunny mentioned 0307 is the most recent stable one he knows. If you want to have fun then go play with the most recent just remember the newer does not always equate to better.

from here http://maclaw.pl/downloads/ go to recovery and flash...[Below method I use to flash my own international S3]
This is what you will be doing to install a custom rom while wiping it for a fresh install (make sure you have your titanium backups handy ):
Copy your ROM inside an easy locatable phone folder by browsing to it, from your PC and copying it to your phones folder using your micro USB cable. I strongly recommend using your External SD card as some roms may wipe your internal SD card leaving you without any ROM to update.. that will be very sad.
Goto the ROM Manager (installed app) you did in the first few steps (If you have not install ROM Manager and do a ROM backup) (Can also use CWM).
Click Boot into Recovery Mode.
You will see a new Unix like screen appear, use + and - to navigat up and down, home button is enter, and soft touch button back is back.
Next we will wipe the phone (if your ROM does not have special instructions on wiping this is a standard method).
Goto Wipe Data/Factory Reset -> Yes
Goto Wipe Cache Partition -> Yes
Goto Advance -> Wipe Dalvik Cache -> Yes
Next Select Install Zip from SD Card (You may also mount External SD card and load ROMS from external SD card (I can recommend this))
It will take a while...
Reboot, and hope to god all is good.
I really love CM10 alpha 1 on my S3mini, been using it since the link was up on MaclawStudio. For now, Google Now and Youtube videos doesnt work. The rom uses little ram which is good(about 342 MB with Maps, FB, Wechat thrown in).No FC`s when using the phone. Battery life lasts for 1day 4 hours 36 min before getting to 6%. I`m a newbie to this device so didnt know how to make NFC settings work- mine is the NFC variant.
How do you push NFC settings into CM10??
Thanks Maclaw, Oliver and Lupohirp for the wonderful rom!

Love cm10
I love cm10 but im having problem, I cant send or recieve MMS messages, can anyone help me fix that?
As the title states this Chinese ROM has been released for our phone. From what I gather it is similar to MIUI in the sense of it being a rather hefty redesign of the default Android UI.
Did anyone get to try it on their phone ?
You can grab it from here : http://www.smartisan.cn/download.html

Edit:
US English available as system language.
Not prerooted but a search for smartisan on XDA gave a flashable zip from sgs3 section that sorted that.
Quite iOS:ish impression on the whole.
Responsive and snappy UI.

Check the video posted earlier. UI is what's shown in it. (And I haven't found a way to take screenies ,might not be built-in it seems)

What is it based on ? Sammy or AOSP/CM ?
Will it be traduced in french in a near future ?

Thanks for the answer
Tried it. Fairly decent. Superficially, the 3x3 grid size is off-putting. Even the 4x4 grid size isn't any better. Apart from that, very responsive and snappy ui as reported by blorro. All in all, good for a weekend experiment.

Was just about to reflash to another ROM and the OTA Updater on Smartisan notified of an Alpha Update.
Seemingly some call recording functions added now and recording editing possibilities.
The clock seems to get an overhaul as well.
Found this 2:11 Presentation on Youtube which revealed some more built-in features:

wow very impressed from that video.

No S-Pen features , Smartisan featured camera with "Narcissist-mode" on front camera, Gyro sensor-enabled back camera.
How's it for a daily driver? Any knows issues? Camera/Sound/calls all working fine?
Do you install it just like any other custom ROM? i.e. root, move zip to SD card and flash it via recovery?

Been running it as a daily for past 3 days, no issues detected.
Make sure you have updated CWM recovery since it's 4.2.2
Backup EFS (Dr Ketan has a good tool for it,check his thread)
install from .zip as usual.
For root access, i found this on SGS3 Q&A Forum:

For those like me, do test in Chinese rom Smartisan OS, and want to root, use this link, and flash in recovery, go to the icon Su and run it, it worked for me in 90%, reinstalled my APPs by Titatiun Backup just can not acessoa the backup folder Titaniun that is on the card, but transfer this folder to the internal memory and I could install 90% of my apps.
I used this link:
http://pan.baidu.com/share/link?shar...18152&third=15

Flashed , then i ran titanium restore w/o issues.
After flashing update via OTA, root access was kept.
I have downloaded the ROM but before going ahead I want to ask whether this is SDS safe or not and would it change the modem also as if it change the modem there are chances of efs corrupt

Wouldn't know anything about SDS bug I'm guessing its fixed since this is CM based.
My modem did not get changed, always backup EFS before playing around.

Hello there awesome people of xda, this is the discussion thread for Omni Rom for i9100. I decided to make this topic because of the spam that is on the development thread.

Good ROM, except some kernel issues in latest nightlies.
so what's the difference between this Rom and say CM 11 or PA?
is it features only or it's based on a different source?

is not ported, its based on AOSP and also has futures like multiwindow, app swich etc.
Great ROM, been using since it first came out and using every update as available!
I wasn't one of the lucky ones where the new nightlies work, is there any update on what's causing the issues and when this will be sorted?
Thanks
Just seen the thread trying to find the issue, so don't bother answering that question!
Where can I find the battery icons

Does Camera Work okay?
Hi, does the front facing camera recording work. Also is the camera slow to take pictures?
Easily one of the best custom ROM for our old S2. Really love the multi-windows feature.
issues
i have an issues
when i try to install the recovery 6.0.4.5 i got "installation aborted" message at the end
mine is 6.0.2.7 and it won't install the rom unless i update it to 6.0.4.5
i tried other links for the 6.0.4.5 it did install in the recovery mood bt when i rebort the system my phone will lag in the samsung logo
and when i try to go to recovery mood it didn't go it just stuck in the logo
so i went back to odin to install 6.0.2.7 again and the phone worked
i also found a "tar" version for 6.0.4.5 to install it in odin
bt when i did i got a root message and stuff i didn't understand so i shut it down and went back to 6.0.2.7 again
anyone with the same problem ?
sorry for my bad english i am not that good
bt well i tried D:
Latest nightly builds must be perfect. Haven't seen anyone post here for ages, unless there is a new thread for the i9100 international?
