[Q] Stock JB 4.3 - Google sync error after root? - Nexus 10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

After OTA upgrade from 4.2.2 to 4.3 a few days ago. Everything ok but ... lost recovery and root.
Flashed ClockWorkMod recovery and SuperSU. Root OK now but no sync to Google servers (no Playstore, GMail, ...)!
Flashed backup 4.2.2 ... everything OK.
Flashed CWM ... still OK (no root).
Flashed SuperSU ... root OK, no sync to Google!!!
Tried with TWRP instead of CWM ... same problem after flashing SuperSU
Even tried to delete and restore my Google account ... no way.
What's going on here? .
Edit:
WiFi and Internet OK of course.
Same problem with second account on this Nexus10 (othe google account).
A few other apps not working too!

After reset to factory settings all OK now. Strange problem though!

[Q] Can I safely update my rooted N10 to 4.3

I have a rooted N10 (was rooted by previous owner). Can you advise me if I can safely update it to 4.3 ?
Yes you can.
You can do this by OTA ... but you will get stock system (no root included).
You can still root your system using one of the methods shown on XDA forum.

Thanks for the reply, if I root after updating to 4.3 will I retain my data/settings?
Yes You will keep your data
My preferable tool for Nexus 10 is in this thread => Wug's Nexus Root Toolkit
also install a custom recovery like TWRP or CWM, they are very useful if you want to try custom ROMs or backup
I had mine rooted when I updated and had no issues. I'll share how I did it:
I downloaded the factory images from Google Developer
Made a Titanium Backup of my apps
Installed a custom recovery
Performed a Factory Reset
Flashed bootloader with fastboot
Rebooted in bootloader
Flashed system, boot and cache with fastboot
Rebooted
Configured my Google account
Rooted using Chainfire latest SuperSU (https://plus.google.com/113517319477420052449/posts/GjbpgDdF6Fq)
Installed Titanium Backup
Recovered my apps
Hope this works for you . Android 4.3 is quite amazing

Problem with rooting

Hello, I'm having problems with rooting my S4 i9505.
I've rooted it before, but I installed a new stock rom, so I needed to root the new rom too.
I installed custom recovery via ODIN, and that worked fine.
Then I booted into the recovery, and selected SuperSU.zip or whatever it's named, installed that.
When the ROM boots up, it gives SuperSU has stopped working error, and when I update superSU via google play, it gives me error that binaries are not installed.
So what am I doing wrong, and what should I do to root the phone?

If your phone doesn't rooted yet , use the towelroot application it's should root your phone right
You can find an option in the recovery to root your phone. Atleast in Philz there is that option. After that install supersu from the playstore.
I flashed Chainfire-auto root with odin, that worked.

Cant loose root

So after many months i decided to restore my device to stock so i can check for firmware updates and return to stock.
The problem is that every time i restore my apps from google i get auto rooted again... i tried through software restore and delete everything i tryed with stock recovery mode delete/wipe and wipe cashe, nothing im still rooted, then i tried costum recovery with wipe all and davlink cashe still rooted.
I then full flashed firmware from kies and i still get rooted once i return the google apps from my account is this normal? the only way to stay unrooted i think is stop app restore from my google account.
busybox xposed and supersu also get restored from my account.
I installed the latest france firmware ( i had greek EUR ang2) and i get rooted once i restore my apps wtf...
If i quit trying to get official and stay with busybox and xposed will i get the update with the fake official setting from xposed?
Edit i uninstall everything includung supersu, busy box and exposed and im still costun... i quit.
You have used the UNROOT function in SuperSu Settings?

If you mean supersu version yes its 2.16.
I am rooted again and when the new update comes I will wipe my phone and use a different account to update, and then I will try my account again to see if I'm still rooted with android 5.
Unrooting
You can manually unroot it by
1. Delete /system/app/superuser
2. Delete /system/bin/su
3. And lastly Delete /system/xbin/su
You can also install this the attachments in recovery mode,
SU-Uninstaller-signed.zip removes Superuser and su files,
TeamEpic-RemoveRoot-from-Recovery-signed.zip removes su and busybox files completely but not Superuser.apk
These attachments are taken from other sources, I have no time to find them again sorry

Update N7 to Marshmallow

My N7 originally is nonrooted with 5.1.1. wifi only and factory reset
Yesterday i used "WugFresh Nexus Root Toolkit NRT_v2.0.5" to unlock the bootloader, root and flash Dmitry Grinbergthe's "grouper-M-TWRP_v1.1.zip" (http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-7/development/rom-aosp-6-0-grouper-t3225584). Everything seems okay and it restarted and shows Android 6. Then i installed Gapp.zip it stuck at "Android starts, Optimizing app xx/xx" windows and finally got "Set up wizard stops" error when reboot. I tried two different Gapp zip files: "working-marshmallow-gapps.zip" and "benzo-gapps-M-20151011-signed-chroma-r3.zip" both got the same error. I have to restored it without Google apps.
Please help me to eliminate the error and install Google apps to the custom rom.
Thank you very much !!

updated to android 4.3 and supersu no longer works

Hi
I think I updated from android 4.2 to 4.3. My phone suddenly restarted (I guess I accidentally tapped update android in the notification bar). . I see I have android 4.3 now and I think I had 4.2 before.
Another thing that has happened is that supersu has stopped working. When I try to open it it says "thre is no SU binary installed..........If you just upgraded to android 4.3 you ned to manually re-root"
I really don't want to lose all my data and applications doing that. What can I do?
Thanks
Flash TWRP and flash supersu from TWRP.
