Hey guys! I recently got a s4 i9505 and I really enjoy the phone, I've rooted it, know how to flash etc.
But I got to be honest, I dont think the audio on the Galaxy is that very good, I flashed the beats eq mod
and I was wondering if there are any other / better mods? I mean the eq is always on in the process list
but the EQ doesnt even kick in unless the song ends by itself and the next song plays, really annoying!
Anyways, I'd greatly appreciate any tips on cool apps / mods but first and foremost I'd really like some help
modding the audio!

Are there any apps/mods that help maximize audio sound? I remember when I had my S3 they had KingBeatz, just wondering if there is anything similar for the S4. Thanks

Faux has a sound mod available on the Play Store (but it's a paid app), and there's also an "increase volume mod" as well (though I don't think it has anything to do with quality really).

There's a mod in the App section that makes the sound louder. I'm not sure if it is what you are looking for and I haven't personally tried it. But it is there if you want to check it out.

I recently upgraded from the S3 to the S4 once I saw the S5 wasn't that great IMO. I just want to know if anyone feels the S3 had better volume when making calls. I will sometimes have people on speaker and I can barely hear them (I can but it's a strain) I never had that issue with S3.
I also feel like the vibration is softer, I've missed several calls when the phone was in my pocket or right next to me on the bed. Never had that issue w/ the S3.
I see a couple of audio fix and tweaks but it seem to only be for media audio than speaking on the phone. I've been searching for about a week and still haven't found anything solid. I tried Volume_Boosting_Sound_VERSION_2_VERY_LOUD and I guess with me running Liquid Smooth 4.4 this tweak doesn't play nice because I can't hear anyone when on the phone so I had to take that off.
If these questions have been asked I'm sorry, I did some searching on particular threads and only found those about media volume. I hope someone can point me to a fix.

For me.the speaker on the gs4 while in a call is better. Might just be me but I've had each phone for almost a year now. If you flash sacs ROM I know that comes with the volume boost.

Check out this thread for some help. And also look at this post to do the mod yourself.
As @daniel4653 mentioned a few of the latest ROMs already boost sound - Sac's, Negamann's etc..
I also use ViperFX and that works EXTREMELY well; but requires some tweaking (all of which can be learned on the viper threads).

Thanks for the replies, I found ViperFx but I wasn't sure if it was just for Music. I did install it and i'm playing with it now.

Hello there XDA,
This is my first post so I will be as specific as possible! I have a Samsung Galaxy S4 GT-i9505 over a year now and I just rooted it for SuperSU. I thought I would achieve the ability to boost my sound for my headset with an enormous rate but that was clearly not as I thought it would be. As a person who has no experience with rooting and installing different ROM's how can I do things so my sound will be way louder than now how it is without screwing up my phone ? Any easy noob-friendly guides out here who can please help and get me on the right track ? I've been looking forward to boost my sound, even if I have to install different ROM!
I hope this is as specific as possible for you guys and girls to understand what my situation is!

Search the forums for Viper4Android. It will boost your sound levels dramatically. Just follow the instructions in the thread you find it in and you should be good to go in no time.

This did not worked. I just tried it but the sound didn't boosted too bad...
The custom ROM currently on my device uses it. The stock Android 4.4.2 ROM I had on the device also used it, and in both cases the sound output had dramatically increased. If it didn't work, I wouldn't have recommended it.
I use the super quality driver. Which driver did you install for V4A, and did you embed V4A in /system or /system/priv-app?

Any one can help me? My S4 i9505 there is no sound after upgrading to cm12. no music player sound (crush), call and etc.. No sound. Im sad of this

I have a S6 Edge+ (928I) and im not sure whether i should root the device or not and I am just wondering what people thoughts were on this?
I am not bothered about Samsung Pay or Warranty but would love to be able to use the Comm bank app (Australia) / NFC Pay...not sure if works with root or not..
Also I love ViperFX and Dolby but the stock Samsung sound on this device is pretty good with the HQ mode turned on..I used Viperfx on my old phone (Note edge) and i use SOL Master Tracks X3 headphones but the S6 Edge+ has a better souncard as far as im aware and viper was awesome but im not sure just how much better it would be...
Also i love changing themes and tweaking the look where i can so custom ROM has always been more my style but with this phone rooting seems to be a bigger decision and im not sure what I would lose or gain by doing it?
So my question is..does any1 know if comm bank app works after rooted? what other features dont work after root? is viper much better than stock sound?
EDIT: NVM took the gamble and rooted...curiosity got the better of me!

Recently I bought Samsung phone with ONE UI 1.1 and was shocked when I found out it lacks my favourite "Tube Amp Pro" sound effect. I was using it many years across all my Galaxys, but now its gone. BTW, I hate Dolby Amos! I hate It!!! Please, if someone could help me bring it back or install old Sound Alive apk without root I would appreciate it. Thanks.
P.S. Do you guys also miss it?
I recently switched from A Note 9 to an S10e and was shocked to find that the double press home button shortcut on the Gear S3 did not have the TIMER as a choice option, or it did on the Note 9.
I contacted Samsung and was told that options are different based on phone model.

I am facing the same issue with my Galaxy m51. It is shocking that Samsung team is neglecting the audio department. Without the Tube Amp Pro, sound through headphones are lacking deep bass. Sound coming through headphones makes me feel like listening to some cheap chinese phone. Also the Dolby Atmos is not much helpful.
