So I don't know if this is the right section if not move it but I need ur help guys i work for tmo, my boss just got an OTA and its 2.2 official I couldn't believe myself but he knows nothing about phones so I know he didn't flash a rom at all how can I pull his rom for the devs to work on it. More importantly would the same root method work for his device?

Same root method [from what I understand], so you are going to root and extract it for the developers on here?

Hold on, I'm gonna go get some popcorn...
Why not keep it quiet and just pm a few of the developers on here? Most will flame any announcement with 2.2.

Can't you just use ROM manager and create a nandroid? Send it to Sombionix.
Try asking team whiskey guys or eugen.

Assuming his boss has the same phone as he does, then we already knew the update was coming.
The Vibrant is a different phone...
Dude you would be surprised people here have no idea what a rom is there trained to help with basic problems he knows.how to use it and what froyo is and that's about it

It's a minor issue but it's been pissing me off to no end. Is there a file I can edit or a setting I can change to make it just say "MTS" like it should?

This is only a guess, but try changing the build.prop line "ro.carrier=unknown" to "ro.carrier=MTS"

download a ROM with custom name carrier and rename it.
Can I change it without having to flash a rom? Like in a text/xml file somewhere? Changing eri.xml did nothing.

err quit bumping?
you cant without flashing with a rom that allows manual changing, or editing the .prop as the 2nd poster said. It's baked in.
so yeah... usless to keep putting this to the top! you had your answer 5 minutes after posting !

What he said. Op is just too arrogant to flash a custom Rom to fix it. Stop bumping the thread.
It's just a word on notification, who cares. Your phone works. It can say abc123 as my carrier. I can really care less, if everything else is great then... Great. Just aesthetics has no effect on the actual phone

It's arrogance spamming for a "bump" to the top of the list when he had the answer 4 minutes after he posted the original topic. flash a custom rom or edit the prop file. there is no other solution. nobody can pull magic pixie dust out of where it cannot be found. demanding that everyone looks anways is exactly that: the definition of arrogance.

Lol, by modding I was talking about system files!
Here is another thread on the same topic. You have to know how to modify the files yourself to get to it to work and if your not willing to learn how to do your own mods (decompiling and compiling files) than your SOL unless you flash a custom ROM.

Omg, don't you know how to use Google?
So obviously you're rooted, just flash Paranoid Android, and set nav bar to transparent.
Easy.

To be honest the title would lead someone to think you actually have a problem, not a question about the UI...
To answer the question, though, you'll need to mod the system files to have a transparent navi/status bar. Easier to change ROM to PA

I believe so but I've not used it in a while. There is a thread to ask questions to do with PA so maybe ask in there for confirmation?

no JellyBomb for G4 ...yet
Josh is waiting for the Note III I'm pretty sure... So it would need to be ported. I would do it but I have several other projects going on right now... I'll ask around in our team hangout and see if anyone may want to take it on... Unless someone else outside the team would like to volunteer (someone with development experience).:good:

New to JellyBomb!!
I have a stupid question: I used to get a notification when I plugged in my charger and now it doesn't work. I know its silly for even wanting the sound, but I have my stupid reasons. Is there a setting for this? I've exhausted every option I think. Sprint Samsung Note 2!

Nope, no setting. On a stock rom, that stays on by default. No way to toggle it. Have you installed a custom rom? Many devs remove that feature.

I am interested to know what is LG Intelligent Agent? I think that maybe taking some battery away from me, and want to know if it's safe to disable it without messing with anything? Thanks.
I'm like 99% sure it's safe to freeze, but if you want to be sure there's a thread somewhere where someone found like 50+ apps that are safe to freeze and listed them all.

Nobody really knows, just like much of the other bloatware on the phone
Rumors say it will turn your phone into a dumbphone Nokia 3310 without the same durability, so I am afraid to do it myself.

So far I can't notice a change in battery life with the screen on, but I've noticed at idle it is a little better with battery consumption.
