Android 4.3 Nexus Media Importer - Nexus 10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is anyone having issues with nexus media importer on Android 4.3? On 4.2.2 there were no problems with any usb, but once the nexus 10 received the ota and upgraded to 4.3, nmi gives an error of something like that the pendrive is protected and it's impossible to do anything.

Did you try it with the Trinity or Flaming Monkey kernel? Depending on what you're using for external storage you will need kernel support. If you were using a custom 4.2 ROM it probably had it built in if you weren't running a custom kernel. Other than that you may just need to wait for them to update the app.

It was working on 4.2.2 stock, but it doesn't work after 4.3 updated (stock too). No kernel change. Any clues?

I'm trying on a non-rooted nexus 10, so stickmount isn't an option.

Stream video
Whenever I try and play a video it tries to download it and doesn't stream it... I don't want to download I just want to play it from the USB. Any ideas why this is happening?
Solved: was file type. Doesn't stream avi without MX Player or similar

Normally you would get a message, but I assume you have ES Explorer installed. It has a "feature" where it claims support for every stream. Since you didn't have anything else that supported that stream type, it started downloading it.
Yeah, AVI and MKV are not natively supported by Android, so they will not stream.

I dont have a problem with it. What problem exactly do you have? What does it says when you try to install it?
MX player its the best player for subtitle support, it actually can read internal ssa subs in mkv with full color coding and position. No other player ive tried does this.

+1 have it installed no problem
I have installed and used MX player in both 2.3.4 and 2.3.6 stock rom with no problem. Make sure you choose the player itself, not the codec in the market(or google play).
On the other hand, rooting a device will not likely help the installation problem. Flashing a new rom may help though.
I have no problem with installation.

I've been wanting to get this feature back on my wife's KF that I flashed to ICS.
the Amazon Video app WILL NOT work on a Nexus 7. It won't run on ICS or higher.
You have to download the flash apk and use an alternative browser such as firefox, ics browser + or dolphin and watch through the browser.
i have read reports that Jelly Bean 4.1.1 breaks flash so you can't even install it, in which case amazon video is impossible on the Nexus 7.
Questions go in the Q&A section
Install the apk & use Dolphin HD to watch Amazon Instant Video via web browser.
EDIT: I included flash player from my TiBU

Got it working!
Have an SGS III with CM10 JellyBean Nightly (cm-10-20121008.....). Ran it from the stock browser provided by CM10. User Agent was left as default (Android). I installed the flash file provided by the above link. I did have to request Full Site to view. Cannot view from mobile site.

Just use the flashfox browser app from the market. Flash fox has it's own dedicated flash player.

Currently flashfox (and several other combo's) do not work with my 4.4 install, running as secondary on multirom, 4.3 = primary.
hopefully someone will resolve 4.4 issue in the near future.....

That's just odd. I still have yet to encounter an issue with it. I'll keep looking then.

if you’ve got a previous version of flash player installed on your device, you’ll need to uninstall it . Now follow theses steps to install flash manually on android 4.4 kitkit
Download Dolphin Jetpack from the Google Play Store. Dolphin Browser & Dolphin Jetpack
Next download the Flash Player which is a hacked version of Flash. Yo can find Hacked version here
Go to Settings > Securities > Unknown resources. This will let you install apks outside the Google Play i.e. unknown installations.
Make sure to first install any previous version of Flash before installing the hacked Flash Player for the compatibility.
In Dolphin Browser, go to Menu > Settings > Web Content > Flash Player to enable the flash setting in the browser.
I've done everything you've said, but flash still doesn't work when I'm trying to watch live broadcasts from vapeon TV. I keep getting a message that says I need to install flash player. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Apparently I didn't do everything you said! Lol. I didn't turn on the flash player in the Dolphin browser. Now everything works fine since I've turned it on. Thanks for the help!

Flash Player support is dropped. Last Android version to have it was 4.0, Ice Cream Sandwich. There is no way to make it work on JB or KitKat as far as I know.

I believe flash player is no longer supported but you can find via Google. Use dolphin browser to view flash player content.
FlashFox by Mobius allow to watch flash content. Found on google play. Use it myself.

Download the latest adobe flash player from here http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/archived-flash-player-versions.html Get firefox, in FF setting enable active addon by tap to enable or so, there have option like this. and this will play flash contents whenever the page loads.
I’ve been using this from start and works great, no issues.
Ahem... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1774336
It's the very first hit when you type "xda jb flashplayer" in Google.com. Honestly, do at least try.
Mine's been working with Firefox on my Note 3 since day 1, as well as on my recently bought NotePro (runs 4.4.2 out of the box).
