Not sure that flow is working as it should. Trying all keyboards, stock, swiftkey and swype, it is very hard to get any sort of accuracy. I use flow typing primarily so I am good at it,' and right know it is near unusable.
Seems that as I am writing a word, the device loses my touch and breaks my one word into many many . troublesome

So I downloaded the new SwiftKey keyboard trial and ever since my hardware keyboard seems to be working flawlessly. Possibly has something to do with the autocorrection?

Yeah it seems to ignore the skipped letters when you type. Swiftkey just seems really buggy sometimes though.
No, it seems like it's more than that too me. It's not ignoring key slips to me it seems like it's not ignoring them in the first place

I'm curious as to whether the xoom is multi-touch, as in more than two actions at a time or if it's only constrained to the two. I've searched and really haven't uncovered much.
And if so, is it just the operating system that constrains it, or are no apps programmed for it?
It allows up to either 5 or 10 don't remember which. Its hardware-based.

then why have I not been able to use this feature? Only two simultanious touches has ever worked..
The screen can detect up to 10 points at once, you can download Touch Test from the market to test this. However I expect software would have to built to take advantage of this, I know with Plume though you can scroll three columns at once

App works well and picks up all 10 point movement perfectly

what, if any, apps utilize this? I haven't encountered any..
Fruit Ninja uses it quite well !!
The tablet supports 10 touches simultaneously. The easiest way to test this is with the stock Honeycomb keyboard. Just use all 10 fingers, you can touch 10 different letters at once.
Apps must be written to support all 10 touches, though.

There are ten multitouch points, tried it with an app. It works amazingly.

I already have SwiftKey 3 on my phone and love it. Should I use the phone version on this tablet or should I buy the tablet version? What's the difference?

I tried to use the phone version and it wouldn't let me, I had to download the tablet version. One of the neat features it has is a split keyboard when in landscape mode. Makes it much easier to type with.
I have the phone version of Swiftkey on another 7" tablet and love it... I was hoping to be able to use it on this one too.
TouchPal works well. Free too.

I also already paid for the phone version and installed it on my N7 without a problem through the Play store. I did get a warning about using the tablet version, but I think there was a cancel or close button. I then just activated it as an input method in Settings and went through the normal setup. I do most of my typing in portrait mode and it seems to handle the 7" screen just fine. I really like how you don't have to purchase the same apps again for different devices.

I had to switch to SwiftKey, the default android keyboard was horribly laggy for some reason. SwiftKey works just fine. I own both tablet and phone versions cause I have a 10" tab and a couple of android phones.
Is there any posiblity that swiftkey 3 could work in a SE Xperia x10 mini pro?
Swiftkey 3 Phone does work fine on the N7... just have to cancel out of the "suggestion" to use Tablet version.
I'm using the phone version and I'm on the fence whether to switch to something else. I was typing better with the stock keyboard.

Swiftkey
I like SwiftKey on both my devices.

I was not as lucky, I was able to install the phone version, and it launches as it should... but it just does not work after launching.
Mine was an Amazon free app of the day deal...
While I love Swiftkey on my phone, I have always liked TouchPal's layout, and it scales to the proper size on the Nexus 7, which is a benefit over Swiftkey (which is far too short). With the NightPack skin, it fits in well with JB too.
I've used SwiftKey for a very long time and it really "knows" me. Is there anyway to transfer the learning data from my old device to the Nexus 7?

You can do that using Titanium backup with app data.

Good call!
I've been using SwiftKey for a very long time and I did that as soon as I got the tablet version for N7 and it works just like my GS2 now.
go into SwiftKey's settings, find "Personalize". SwiftKey will crawl your crapbook, twitter, SMS, and/or Gmail for typing patterns. no need for TiBU.
I love Swiftkey on the phone, but the tablet version is absolutely garbage. I actually prefer the stock JB keyboard. The only thing I'm missing is the gestures from Swiftkey, I swipe back and nothing happens lol

Anyone know of the differences between the table version and phone version -- besides split keyboard of course? I installed the phone version and have no complaints so far.

Yes, I did that when I first got the app. But now, many months later, after using it all the time, it is much better. It learns as it goes. I will backup the app data, like suggested earlier.
I have noticed that in a number of web forums I get TERRIBLE LAG when trying to type a comment, sometimes even as much as a second between keystroke and input.
The website on which the forum resides doesn't seem to be having any lag, just typing.
Any solutions for this? Tapatalk would be ideal but so few forums I visit regularly have Tapatalk. Is there an app which loads the text box for a forum's comment section into a separate window for typing then pastes it into the web forum text box automatically? Thanks. This is really annoying.

I used to get it in chrome if you are using chrome then just use the stock browser its a problem with chrome but if you are getting it with stock browser then no clue may be some bug

My other half is very active on several forums and doesn't have this problem in either Dolphin or the stock browser. She used to on the iPad though. Any forums that you can mention in particular?
Like I said if you are using Chrome and its an issue with it and also it comes up suddenlyt
I notice it mostly in news site and political forums. I'm using Dolphin. Would really like an app that does this for me.

can you give the forum name so that i can try it on my device
Pretty sure its related to keyboard. Turn off haptic and touch sound and use 4.2 keyboard or thumb etc... and its almost never present

Will try that. I use Thumb Keyboard. I honestly think is it a lag problem with some forums in general. The same forums tend to lag on my Epic Touch too. Just slow servers. That's why an app that provides a text box for me to type in then sends it all at once to the forum text box would be awesome.

Has anyone else here who owns a xoom noticing bad lag when using Flipboard, Google Currents and Google +. Seriously mine lags bad even say if I type on the keyboard and when Im typing a sentence I have to wait 2 or so seconds for a letter to be inputted by a keystroke, btw I'm using Swiftkey for Android tablet.
But this lag is getting on my nerves lately especially with Flipboard and Google Currents.
Also it seems to load a few stuff that comes into my taskbar onto the bottom where my clock is eg my email messages, any technology news etc in which i think is normal.

Try disabling Currents. It's a hog, and if you're using Flipboard and Google+ then Currents isn't all that relevant.

same issues for me, i bet it's the crappy 4.0.4 ICS version build by Motorola, because i had similar issues with other appications too, and i always keep no widgets and try to keep RAM free, but even with a reboot it happens frequently.
i'm going to try using the stock keyboard and uninstall swiftkey, but i how i wish they unlock that d***n bootloader!
Another good option to replace Flipboard or currents is 'Pulse' - something else you can look into
How do I disable Currents
Thanks

This also seemed to happen to mine when i upgraded to ICS a while back, I'm now waiting for the Jellybean updated, F knows when.
Why will you uninstall Swiftkey. I use it on mine and love it also use some other keyboards suh as Kii etc.
