if you mean ubuntu, there's no ubuntu version. and yes, you cannot install computer os to a phone, info: android is a linux based os itself
Yes you can install linux on our device.
The app is available on playstore to download image files.
You must have 3gb or more space free on SD card and your device must support loop holes kind of something feature..
And Y doesn't support Ubuntu but you can install debian.

Yes you can...!!
Yes bro it is possible...
A theme of UBUNTU is available in one of the xda threads for galaxy y..
Search it...
Sample shot is here....
Its is not possible to run any other version of linux os because galaxy y does not have the hardware requirment.
I have tried it ones but no result. It is worth to download 3 GB of data. Full of wastage of time, datapackage n the most important electricity.

Hi guys from few days i heard about multi boot option for x10 , is this possible with our handset also ...if yes please any tell me ....thanks in advance...
In theory, yes. For example, you can flash a boot.img file to the recovery partition (Recovery images are basically boot.imgs but with modified ramdisks) then it would boot, but you would need to re-partition the device, or use the SDCard as means of dual booting (Like some early Android ROMs were for the HD2)

Not yet, also the lack of developers is a problem too, we really only have about 5-10 main devs here on XDA, probs more though on com.pl and 4pda.
I Hope developers work in this direction ...

Download the framework-res.apk.zip open it and extract the res file to your framework-res.apk project folder and replace your's.
After that you can make your changes and recompile back with out any error's.

I don't think 2gb of ram are really necessary for that. Of course it would be better to have the gb but I'm sure it can work with 1gb of ram.

Will this work on the Verizon s3 since it has 2 GB of ram?

How mad! This should definitely be able to be ported since it's same hardware

If the Japanese s3 has multi window then why can't we extract it from the Japanese source file and port it, wouldn't the be easier that porting the note 2 version?

LOL UMMM you are EXTREMELY mistaken bro.... your phone does not have the same hardware. We Have a QUAD CORE Exynos with 2GB Ram and LTE
the SCH-I535 is only a DUAL CORE Qualcomm with 2GB Ram and LTE
You are in the wrong Forum haha.... your Very Lucky i picked up on it otherwise you may have bricked your device

fyi , i even flashed the whole note 2 rom to my i9305.. tried everything.. long press back key to activate but no luck... that caused my device soft bricked.. imei and carrier all gone..so do not try!! i repeat do not try!
is not that easy... we have to wait till nov until alpha is out or wait for professional dev to extract it.. is not easy because there are a lots of coding in the phonewindowsmanager to be ported... unless ure willing to browse and extract each of them and study the script.. and there are thousands of them
