Can I just replace the SecEmail.apk and Exchange.apk in the System/App folder to the stock android Apks?
Will that work?

Anybody know what files need to be in the system/app folder for the stock launcher?
Blurhome.apk doesnt seem to be working.
EDIT: I have the VZW_2.4.5 rom and putting blurhome.apk into system/app seems to just duplicate the crap out of the ringtones, after removing the .apk the duplicates stay so i had to go back to a backup.
Does anyone know where i would put the APK and odex files in a Captivate to get this working?
you would need to put them in /system/app which requires root. that should work if you're running stock rooted. if you're running a deodexed system then you'll need a deodexed .apk or it will start rebooting.
Ok I removed (renamed many of the /system/app .apk and .odex files)
Like blurHome, and LatinIME (stock KB), some blur widgets that run as services.
I know that yahoo-contacts.apk will break the phone contacts, so I let it be.
My Question:
Has anyone successfully de-blurred the DX GB stock ROM, if so could you provide the list of files you removed/renamed/moved ?
Thanks,
Can I push apps like go launcher, go sms, go contacts and others into the system? Do I just need to rename them? (Ex- renaming go sms apk into mms.apk, go contacts into contacts.apk) What apk files do I need to push them? Can I just download apks from blackmart and push those apps? Or do I need to use modified apks? Thanks for the responses
Im super noob in pushing apps.
App can push into system with or without rename but some app cant push like smartkeyboard.. just try push and set permission.. reboot and if u got fc with that app u push to system its mean that app cant push..

Hi, I much prefer the email application for Exchange that is on my Nexus 10 to the one on my AT&T Galaxy S4. My GS4 is on MF3 firmware, so while I can root, I cannot simply flash the Google Edition ROM (although I would prefer to). I attempted to replace the email app on my phone with the one from a Google Edition ROM, but it doesn't work. Here's what I tried:
Remove SecEmail_J.apk and .odex from /system/app
Remove SecExchange.apk and .odex from /system/app
Copied Email.apk to /system/app (from GE 4.2.2 ROM)
Copied Exchange2.apk to /system/app (from GE 4.2.2 ROM)
chmod 644 on both files
reboot
Unfortunately, I do not see an Email app in my apps list. If I try to run the .apk from the /system/app folder manually, it asks if I want to install the application, but then fails with "application not installed".
Any ideas? Is what I'm doing possible?
Thanks in advance!
Are the apk permissions set to rw-r-r
Yep
