[Q] no wifi after unrooting - Sprint Samsung Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshoot

so i was running cm 10.1 and i no longer wanted it so i did a restore from a backup i did before i flashed the rom, but the wifi no longer worked so i unrooted and went back to stock and the wifi still doesnt work and now i get a warning saying something about i have to reboot now or later and it keeps popping up, help please?

The pop up is because you are rooted. And that is Knox. You have. To use a root browser and go to system/apps and delete or add .bak to the KNOX apk.

I would like to know too! Running SACS V8. Have no desire to update. Would like to know how / where to remove the update from the phone.
freeze SprintID
Well, as far as I know, if you are running a custom recovery (twrp, cwm, etc.) you can click to update. However it will fail because of the custom recovery and should stop bugging you about the update.
I also believe there is a way using root explorer you can delete a certain file, then when you click to update nothing runs. That though you'd have to search for more details.

First I froze fwupdate.apk using Titanium Backup like most threads say to. I think that only prevents it from downloading, but if the update file has already been downloaded, then you'll continue to get notifications.
I then deleted the actual update file from the \cache folder. Still shows under Notification.
So then I removed Notifications from the actual app that displays it - called Google Services (or something like that - don't have phone with me so can't look right now - but you can long-press on the notification to get App Info, then go in and remove Notifications).
Edit: Apparently you don't have to remove all notifications from Google Services, just clear the cache. Btw, my phone is rooted and I had already removed SprintDM.apk and ALL other Sprint related stuff (SprintID, etc) and it still downloaded the update and prompted me.
I woke up on Fri with the update icon on my phone . I'm on mf9 and not ready to update just yet.
This is what I did to get rid of the update notification.
Using root exp go into etc/security/and change otacerts.zip to otacerts.zip.bat
Then go to system/app/and change SprintDM.apk to SprintDM.apk.bak
I then went into recovery and wiped delvik and cache then rebooted
When it rebooted the icon was still there so I restarted the phone and after it rebooted the icon was gone.

Long press it in the notification tray and then tap "app info" after that uncheck show in notifications.

So I got the update notification again! I had already removed SprintID long ago (and all other Sprint apps) and frozen fwupdate.apk.
Somehow my phone still downloaded the update zip again. I can only think it has to do with one of the Samsung apps which I kept.
Anyways, decided to go into system/build.props and change all the MF9 to MFA. Let's see what happens now. Going to keep Google Services Framework notification on to test.
Well, I changed the build.props file and it cold rebooted fine to the lockscreen but once I enter my pattern code, the screen seems to go completely blank. I have to press the power button twice to go back to the lock screen again. Seems it doesn't like you changing MF9 to MFA in the build.props file!!!!!
Now how to change it back without having to do a restore.....can't see anything or do anything within the phone app itself since screen is blanked out. Any ideas anyone?
Edit: Nevermind, a hard shut down and reboot seems to have fixed whatever glitch that was. Odd....
Fotakill.apk, that worked for me when I was on MDL
Don't know if it works on MF9.

[Q] [FIXED] [DELETE THIS THREAD] Galaxy SIV GT-I9505 /system/framework files problem

Hello everyone!
Im not new to xda forums, but I'm new as a user, so I am really sorry if I'm writing in the wrong section.
I live in Hungary and I have a GT-I9505 unlocked by default device.
Yesterday i went ahead and rooted my phone using Towelroot to keep KNOX untrigered. Oh btw i was running android ver. 4.4.2.
I rooted my phone without any problems, and KNOX was still 0x0, installed busybox and xposed framework.
I installed GS5 launcher and apps, and to get MyMagazine working i had to replace some files in /system/framework named
twframework-res.apk
and
twframework.jar
I did those without any problems. I wanted to restore my S4 to its original look, so i started putting back the original files, both in system/framework and in system/priv-app
While i was deleting thos two framework files, I accidentaly pressed the home button, so the changes took affect, and i got a lot of FC windows, making me unable to use my phone to get back those files.
I have a backup of those files, on my SD card, i just cant put them back because of those force close windows.
I tried wiping cache and data in recovery mode (stock, no CWM or such) but that didn't help either, and now i have the galaxy setup process+the FC windows.
Is there anyway to make my phone working correctly again?
Really sorry for the long text and any mistakes, it's 2am here and I'm really tired and I'm just trying to get my phone back to normal.
I ended up reflashing an official samsung firmware with Odin, and now my problem's gone.

[Q] Using Knox after Root ? Trying too..

My verizon S4 is rooted and running the stock rom, superuserSU and titanium backup, I believe I had to install SElinux app to get superuser to install but dont remember, a lot of work to get here for a new person.
Got locked out by freezing samsungs Touch Wiz and had to come back in anotherway by deleting Knox.
I put all my bank, passwords and important info in Knox and want to get it back. I have downloaded it but it shows stopped when it finishes installing.
It did run alongside my superusersu and titanium backup fine its just when deleting touch wiz I had to delete it.
Dont know about un doing all that work to reinstall it without root then rooting again,, kid of sketchy.

If you burn your knix efuse i.e. the jnox counter is 1 or 0x1, you wont be able to use the KNOX container ever again and all the data stored in it cannot be recovered.
I think while rooting you burnt the efuse.
Press Thanks if I helped

Rooted, can no longer receive MMS

I installed root with towelroot and installed safe strap recovery 3.72. I have frozen a lot of bloatware with titanium backup as well. I'm not using any custom roms either. I've messed around with my APN settings yet none of the ones I try work. I only receive MMS as soon as I restart, all at once. Everything after that shows up as downloadable but always fails to download. Any ideas?
something you froze. Root by itself won't cause that problem

Issues with smn910w8 - Rooting

After i got my note 4 i rooted it and everything was going fine until i installed the xposed framework app, i didn't install the framework itself but the phone got messed up. I flashed the stock firmware which fixed the issues but now whenever i try to root the phone again using cf auto root it goes into an endless boot cycle which can be fixed by flashing stock firmware. The worst part is all my contacts were backed up with titanium backup which requires root. Also I'm wondering about cyanogen mod and if there are any working builds since the Canadian bell isn't listed.
