As the title says, since the aosp side or development is booming for the GT-I9505 and also the touchwiz so whats for you aosp roms such as cyanogenmod rootbox carbonrom etc; or touchwiz like foxhound and omega?
Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
I prefer to use TouchWiz but that's personal
I have always been an AOSP fan- it's fast.. really fast.. & lite.
But then again, being a busy student, I find TW's features very useful. The integration makes it easier. Although I do make sure to delete apks that are not useful to me like SHealth & etc.
So I choose TW

For me its aosp because of the customizations but like the camera on the touchwiz

I'm running stock, but am rooted with Nova. I'm going to wait for some Milestones from AOKP. I've tried some Roms but none of them are as stable as stock at this point.

I'm a fan of the paranoid android ROM by Molesarecoming. He's building the thing blind and it's still phenomenal. App-by-app layout ui as well as most CM10 features.
I'm running EOS because they have a great standard dpi tablet mode.
Paranoid supposedly is great and Liquid is always a favorite...
Paranoid may work well for me but Liquid doesn't have tablet mode. EOS is just simple. It feels like stock with a few simple eye candy options for the navigation bar. It just works well.
Overall you should do a nandroid and just go crazy. Everyone has a different opinion and features they like that runs well with their unique setup.

My first vote goes to Kaos-Droid, just make sure to include the apex launcher on v 3.1 in Aroma, otherwise you have issues with superSU and have to manually input network id's, bit besides that, super smooth & stable, great ROM :thumbup:
If you want something cm10 based, then my vote is glazed job by hyper runner.

I have been running BAMF and very happy with it.

I've flashed them all... BAMF all the way!
Does anyone know of a pretty much stock AOSP rom with Tablet UI? Optimizations are fine and welcome, just no (or very little) mods. So no AOKP or CM rom's please.

Well, Paranoid Android has a fair number of mods, including tablet UI. It's a great ROM with a lot of convenient and really nice features and especially so for the Nexus 7. Why don't you want many mods?

"just no (or very little) mods. So no AOKP or CM rom's please" PA fits into that mold as well, sorry.
Because I don't use the features on AOKP, which I've been running almost since it was first released. Other than tablet UI and 1% battery.
Well you could try my odexed or deodexed mods found here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=38749260
And towards the bottom I have flashable versions of the stock 4.2.2 that is rooted if you don't have a stock android to restore. I have been running this almost exclusively for weeks now.

But it doesn't do tablet UI eh?
I use SmoothRom. Just because it has mods and options, doesn't mean you have to enable them all.

Did you even go to the thread I posted? My mods for stock include extended power menu, volume rocker music skip, percentage battery, and yes tabletUI. And the stock ROM packages are rooted and zipaligned.

Most roms seem very similar and their features are mostly shared throughout, are there any roms with exclusives?
Paranoid Android has released exclusive features before other roms. Full color customization, pie controls, to name a few. Other roms release nice features including theme engines, speed improvements, and unique customization.

I just find it weird that buttery smoothness is even a feature on a rom of 4.1+ nature. Plus PA's stuff is used by so any other rooms now

Hi all,
Forgive this thread and of course move/delete if needed, but I just wanted to voice my excitement for the day CM comes the the device. I will be receiving N9005 October 9th on Three coming from the Note 2 and simply cannot wait to not only start the customisation of Samsung TW but furthermore the moment beginning flashing the custom minimalistic roms that CM and AOSP bases will be offering us.
I'm curious to see how the performance and battery life etc will be, cliché questions I realise, and how such a lightweight system on such a powerful device will be a pleasure to operate. Also I wonder of the amount of available ram could ever be changed? So I see currently that there's around 2.3gb or so system reserved (don't quote me) available and so could more of this be released when on a CM rom?
Either way, just thought I'd create a place where we can all build up some discussion for when we first begin to get a glimpse of hopefully what's to come...
Hi there and good to hear you are exited about the Note 3, as for customisation i think AOSP roms will be the best way to customise, since one developer is allready trying to make the exposed framework to work its getting blocked by the Samsung KNOX security.
I'm getting the feeling stock rom customisation is getting tough because of this KNOX stuff.
As root will break KNOX. Exposed farmwork or asop deal will be the same

This is great news, this beginning is always so thrilling, in checking Xda so often to check the progress from watching root come out etc. I can't wait for likes of (here's hoping) Slim Bean to venture this way......

It is simply going to be amazing. Changing the DPI on this device, with the high resolution screen, the pure speed and debloated glory of the roms to come.... Plus all the beautiful themes!

Hi all, I have been using the galaxy series since E4G and have used both stock based ROMs and AOSP based. I am currently on Sac's ROM 3 and have been curious about running AOSP on my gs4. So anyone that that has made the change to AOSP, did you miss any features only available to TW based ROMs? Like the stock camera? Or calendar app? I use Nova Launcher so I don't really care about the TW launcher.
Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk
I actually prefer the stock camera and calendar in aosp over tw.[emoji3] I'm a huge aosp fan and always used those type of roms. There are so many 3rd party apps out now for those who don't prefer aosp stock gapps..
jflte/LS 3.1/Pokernel
The ## dialer diag features in ASOP ROMs is often missing, and perhaps was missing in every ASOP ROM evaluated to date.

I installed cm11 and the voicemail feature was missing, I prefer touchwiz due to more completeness but asop seems a bit quicker with less lag, you won't have the camera with touchwiz due to software optimization.
Check these pictures out. I took them using aosp camera that's in PA gapps. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2758046 To me its just as good as tw cam. If you use Banks's gapps gives you the Google cam with photosphere and other cool effects.. Then there are tons of apps that can tweak different things..

My guess is just daylight. I've had AOSP camera take pics as good as touchwiz but ONLY outside during the day. Indoors with florescent lights or at night never came out as good.
