I just got a Galaxy S4 and it's my first Android. I put CyanogenMod on it but there is one thing I can't figure out how to do and that's have the camera LED flash for notifications such as when a text comes in or when the phone is ringing. I'm sure this has been answered before but all my searching brings me to threads about the front notification LED. Just to be clear I'm talking about having the white LED that is for taking pictures flash for alerts. Thank you for your help.
Having the camera flash, used for notifications? Is that possible lol?
I don't use Cm, but do use Slim on my N7. Man, i never heard that one before. I'm gonna do a search myself, cause now I'm curious. Have you seen this somewhere else before?
Edit... Hmmm, doing a search pulled a bunch of stuff. Guess it is possible, UT doesn't seem to be a part of Cm. Most thing i found were from. A long time ago. Seem like Flashlight Alerts from the austere does this. I'm guessing there are quite a few apps on the playstore that'll do this actually

On stock touchwiz it's under accessibility settings just as it is for iOS. Guess you won't find it anywhere else unless you download an app that will let you.
There is an app called light flow lite that let's you use your camera flash for notifications. Also in your settings, under my device, then under accessibility, there's a setting for using the camera flash for all notifications.

(I have searched xda, Google and the cyanogenmod forums with no dice)
Both the area on the notification panel that normally says Sprint and the lockscreen now say "roaming indicator on", the "fixes " I found for the problem have done nothing to help me and as of right now I cannot use 3g and 75% of my calls drop. Can anyone help?

Perhaps this better belongs in the threads pertaining to cm6.1 as opposed to posting a rom specific question in general as there it would receive better attention from people knowing how to deal with it as well as less clutter for those not using the specific rom you are asking a question about.
I was trying to figure out the best place to post this, and it seemed like more of a general thing than something that would go in the cm thread, if a mod feels it needs to be moved, then by all means go ahead.

I wasn't trying to be rude but I assume your question will be better answered in the thread about it.
Problem that brief that on the hero was a bad eri.xml. But I don't know if that is still a useful answer.

Yeah the problem is in eri. Will fix for next release.

I have a themed facebook app, and I want to have the official one to do something since it is a little hard to see things with this theme. The apps are seen to be the same by the phone.
Is there a way I can have both apps installed at the same time? If I renamed the current app would it still work? Or what if I made one a system app?
Come on guys: nobody?
Going to bump this again
I kinda need this answered. Can anyone help?
I think it's time to go looking somewhere else for this. Have you tried the android software general forum? This question isn't specific to the DX. Or you could just TRY it and let us know what happens...

Seeing as I did try it, and said so in the op (how else would I know they are seen as the same app?) I'm not sure where you're going with that. Also, admin or not, posting unhelpful is worse than not posting at all

I thought he was being helpful. If you post this question in the General section for ALL Android apps (again, this is not specific to our phone), there would be a larger group of people viewing the question. And I think when he said to try it, he already knew you tried installing both. But have you tried your own suggestion by renaming or making one a system app?
Not trying to be a smartass, just giving my interpretation on mrkite's post. I hope you find your answer, though!

The system app way still wouldn't work because android would still recognize them as the same app so it would not work

What he said. It sounds like you're about out of options, though...
Anyone else find a very very small sticker covering their camera? It was still there after completely removing (I thought!) all the little sticker/protective covers on the rest of the phone.
Just found it, having a hell of a time getting it off but it's definitely there!
Yeah, I took it off.
There's a thread about this already.

Sorry, I searched the forums a handful of different ways and didn't find anything about this.
My bad.
Yeah if you look around the bumper there is some there as well. Its to protect from incidentally scratching off surfaces. Older slide phones came with them on the back of the slider as well. Even the charger block came with one I believe lol. But yeah it shouldn't be too hard to take off.

Sorry guys but I've looked everywhere in the settings and all over the web. I can't for the life of me figure out how to enable HDR video recording on the new MEA build. I'm using omega 5.0.
Does anyone know where it is or is it enabled automatically? Thanks

I don't understand how you can say you looked all over the web when there is a thread about this still on the first page of the forum you are posting in?
Here is the thread...

There is a link to another thread in that thread as well.

While I appreciate the link you didn't have to be disrespectful. I looked all over the web and hit the search button on this XDA app. Everything coming up just goes over there's a update and what's included, one feature being HDR video recording. If people are going to respond disrespectful I'd rather go without. Again thanks, that's what Q&A is for

So one can't actually see there recording in HDR video. If you choose HDR on the carousel then hit video that's supposed to be it. I've read the video camera button is blurred out on old firmware so it must be working for us. Looks good but it looked good before so hard to tell for a camera quality noob like me.

You are welcome for the link and, in no way, was I disrespectful. Here are the forum rules...

I put "HDR" in the search box and the link I gave you was the 2nd link that came up after yours. Are you saying your search is different than mine? If the "XDA app" doesn't work, stop using it. It clearly is not helping you. And, the link I gave you was to a post that was still on the first page (the same page you are on). There wasn't even a need to use the search.
Of course, I'm sure all of this doesn't matter to you. You will just say I am still being disrespectful, so, good luck.

Scott do me a favor and open the stock browser and search how to enable HDR video on galaxy s4. Nothing besides reviews and news come up. I narrowed Down by time, past week (finally now works in stock browser) that's the search I did. When going to XDA app/ Q&A I did look at the first page. I'm guilty for not going to the second page. I did look man I'm not a lazy forum user. I'm constantly helping others no matter what the question is. Had a bad day at work and home so when I come across people responding a certain way, at the wrong time maybe it can be interpreted wrong.
Thanks again

It's all good. I hate that you had a bad day and sorry if I seemed to offend. If you find a good answer to your question please let us all know and maybe all of the information about this can be consolidated for future reference. I have a feeling the closer the AT&T update gets the more this same question is going to come up.

Actually no one actually sees a specific setting for this using the video camera. Everything I read says by going to HDR in camera settings then just hitting the video recording option should actually be HDR video. On earlier firmware this video recorder is blurred out if selecting HDR? Best I've come up with and seems most likely. I'll have to wait until I get to work tomorrow and grab my brothers G4 to see if his video button is blurred out in HDR mode. Thanks Scott and hope this helps someone else out. I'm sure it'll be asked a million more times

HDR video is listed as being in the patch that is currently rolling out in EU an India - my guess is it should be there but got left out and now they are fixing it.
Improvements and fixes in the new Software Update:
-New Camera firmware
-Smearing issue has been fixed (Purple effect while scrolling)
-Smart Pause Toggle
-Move Apps to SD Card
-HDR Video (Can record HDR video)
-Semi-transparent status bar
-New Icons in Settings
-Secure boot status (About Phone)
-Increase legibility (Display) (New feature)
So I got my S4 the 2nd day it came out. I was lucky enough to get the 32gb. recently I tried sending someone a music file and for the life of me couldn't figure out what i was doing wrong. worked perfectly fine with the s3. so after digging around on the net I found out that samsung has disabled sbeam for everything except pictures/videos.
i am aware that there are apps out there that both parties can install to send other kind of files to each other with tapping feature.
one can also use wifi direct and not have to worry either.
I guess my main question is : Is there a rom out there that enables me to send non picture/video files without having to install a 3rd party app or use wifi direct?

Have you tried looking in the "Development" and "Original Development" sub forums to see what the functions of the ROMs available have? Reading through the threads would provide more information that might not be listed in the OPs. I'm guessing you are not getting replies because this might be a feature that most people really don't care about with custom ROMs so they don't check. Researching the individual ROMs and asking questions (that haven't already been asked) within those threads would probably get you a few more suggestions. Good luck.
