HDR video recording - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshootin

Sorry guys but I've looked everywhere in the settings and all over the web. I can't for the life of me figure out how to enable HDR video recording on the new MEA build. I'm using omega 5.0.
Does anyone know where it is or is it enabled automatically? Thanks

I don't understand how you can say you looked all over the web when there is a thread about this still on the first page of the forum you are posting in?
Here is the thread...

There is a link to another thread in that thread as well.

While I appreciate the link you didn't have to be disrespectful. I looked all over the web and hit the search button on this XDA app. Everything coming up just goes over there's a update and what's included, one feature being HDR video recording. If people are going to respond disrespectful I'd rather go without. Again thanks, that's what Q&A is for
Sent from my GT-I9505 using xda premium

So one can't actually see there recording in HDR video. If you choose HDR on the carousel then hit video that's supposed to be it. I've read the video camera button is blurred out on old firmware so it must be working for us. Looks good but it looked good before so hard to tell for a camera quality noob like me.

You are welcome for the link and, in no way, was I disrespectful. Here are the forum rules...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/announcement.php?a=81
I put "HDR" in the search box and the link I gave you was the 2nd link that came up after yours. Are you saying your search is different than mine? If the "XDA app" doesn't work, stop using it. It clearly is not helping you. And, the link I gave you was to a post that was still on the first page (the same page you are on). There wasn't even a need to use the search.
Of course, I'm sure all of this doesn't matter to you. You will just say I am still being disrespectful, so, good luck.

Scott do me a favor and open the stock browser and search how to enable HDR video on galaxy s4. Nothing besides reviews and news come up. I narrowed Down by time, past week (finally now works in stock browser) that's the search I did. When going to XDA app/ Q&A I did look at the first page. I'm guilty for not going to the second page. I did look man I'm not a lazy forum user. I'm constantly helping others no matter what the question is. Had a bad day at work and home so when I come across people responding a certain way, at the wrong time maybe it can be interpreted wrong.
Thanks again

It's all good. I hate that you had a bad day and sorry if I seemed to offend. If you find a good answer to your question please let us all know and maybe all of the information about this can be consolidated for future reference. I have a feeling the closer the AT&T update gets the more this same question is going to come up.

Actually no one actually sees a specific setting for this using the video camera. Everything I read says by going to HDR in camera settings then just hitting the video recording option should actually be HDR video. On earlier firmware this video recorder is blurred out if selecting HDR? Best I've come up with and seems most likely. I'll have to wait until I get to work tomorrow and grab my brothers G4 to see if his video button is blurred out in HDR mode. Thanks Scott and hope this helps someone else out. I'm sure it'll be asked a million more times

HDR video is listed as being in the patch that is currently rolling out in EU an India - my guess is it should be there but got left out and now they are fixing it.
Improvements and fixes in the new Software Update:
-New Camera firmware
-Smearing issue has been fixed (Purple effect while scrolling)
-Smart Pause Toggle
-Move Apps to SD Card
-HDR Video (Can record HDR video)
-Semi-transparent status bar
-New Icons in Settings
-Secure boot status (About Phone)
-Increase legibility (Display) (New feature)

glad to hear the quick news about flash, maybe that means froyo will be showing up this month too...
and, at y2whisper, the other thread was closed, because it was made perfectly clear that most people would like it turned off. the tapatalk notification is annoying as sin
Thats fine that they would, I opt to keep it on, only out of gratitude for the program and that about 10% of my posts are done via the program. should that percentage increase or simply just over time (unless there is some kind of upgrade) I will shut it off.
Mind you my motivation with it is that its xda specific and its how i found out about the application in the first place.

You can always block people who don't disable the signature.
Admin is working with the developer to change the spam that the application places in the body of the post which is what annoys most people. They did not specify what would be done but apparently relief is on the way.
need to make it so you can assign a sig to it your self, or not at all.

But, if you reply with it, doesn't it just use the sig you already have specified in the forum?
They didnt say what they were going to do. What bothers most people is that it is amended into the body of the post and as they surf the forum they end up reading it over and over and over.... It sounded like a line break such as before the signatures to move it out of the body of the post would be a front runner. We'll see.

Time for a good rom review

!My spelling isn't the best!
So I just rooted my phone, and now im in the process of trying one by one of all the of roms i can get my hands on.
I was wondering if anyone would like to help. I was thinking of some good screen shots and some small videos.
I would love a place where i could find out what these roms looked liked and how they ran.
So hit this up if you in or am I just gonna be wasting my time.
Thanks

I think this is a great idea. I know when I am looking to go to a new rom, one of the first thing i look for are screenshots, and user experience with the rom.
Sounds like a great idea. First thing I look at are screen shots as well. I've tried almost every rom out there for the Eris. Would love to help.
Sent from my FroyoEris using XDA App
i think this would have the potential for sticky once it was developed fully...
it would be nice to have a one stop shop area to compare all the many different ROMs
NIce
well i was thinking something simple
- screen-shots
- videos if possible
- off the bat bugs
- speed test (which i might need some help)
- user exp (from 0.0-10.0)
if there's any more...please add more
we should probably redo this thread also. would we do a new thread for each rom?
i hope people who don't take screen-shots or any videos, would say something about the roms too. (the more info we get the more we have to work with)
and I'm also new and not the best at forums so if someone would like to to take charge in setting up these threads that would be great
Thanks

You can zoom and flash camera with the app, Viginette. Zoom is not working on camcorder.
Anything posted on the front page of a ROM thread is the latest version. Occasionally older versions are also there but usually devs remove them with the new releases.
The reason you can't post in those threads is because you haven't made the requisite 10 posts, its a feature that is supposed to keep people from cluttering Dev only threads with questions that are usually answered by reading the first post.

[Q] Looking for video review with pie-chart

I remember seeing a video review of the Note 4 with a heavy focus on the s-pen and s-note. I specifically remember the reviewer creating a pie-chart with sections for Android, iOS/iPhone and BB. He also demonstrated turning a drawing in to an editable shape.
Now I want to watch this review again, but can't find it. Does anyone recognize what I'm talking about and know what review it is? Please post a link to it if you do!
Thanks in advance

I don't know this video but my samsung galaxy apps recently updated Easy Chart and Idea Sketch Easy chart had that pie chart that you speak of. I updated it and it told me to use it through S Notes HTH
Thanks, so that confirms that the video review was about S Note. Now I just need to find the actual video...
In this video at around the 6 min mark there is a demonstration of easy chart.

I have neither visited those 100s of sites you mention nor do I intend to for the simple reason that XDA is place where usually things happen first and for the best as can be seen in this case itself.
It is your fault that you are unaware of the original thread posted on XDA itself and that too in this device section + being featured on XDA Portal. Ignorance in this case is not bliss. And you should be smart enough to atleast edit the post for giving credits if not deleting it altogether. Rather you seem hell bent on not even acknowledging it, let alone take corrective action. MJ wasn't the one who invented the moonwalk, he was the one who popularized it. Do you know the person who should be actually credited for the moonwalk? Or is it that you are 'ignorant' because you are 'unaware' about it, or perhaps didn't follow other guy.
