So I got my S4 the 2nd day it came out. I was lucky enough to get the 32gb. recently I tried sending someone a music file and for the life of me couldn't figure out what i was doing wrong. worked perfectly fine with the s3. so after digging around on the net I found out that samsung has disabled sbeam for everything except pictures/videos.
i am aware that there are apps out there that both parties can install to send other kind of files to each other with tapping feature.
one can also use wifi direct and not have to worry either.
I guess my main question is : Is there a rom out there that enables me to send non picture/video files without having to install a 3rd party app or use wifi direct?

Have you tried looking in the "Development" and "Original Development" sub forums to see what the functions of the ROMs available have? Reading through the threads would provide more information that might not be listed in the OPs. I'm guessing you are not getting replies because this might be a feature that most people really don't care about with custom ROMs so they don't check. Researching the individual ROMs and asking questions (that haven't already been asked) within those threads would probably get you a few more suggestions. Good luck.

As you may have noticed, the HD2 forums have finally received their makeover.
At this time, we are frantically trying to reorganize all of the threads but we could use your help. If you see a thread that is out of place, please report it and in the field where it asks you why you reported it, type where you think the thread should be.
This will be an immense help to us, the xda staff, and will help you because the forums will be organized more quickly!

on xda-classic skin subforums are seen like forums. is this ok ?
Whoaa.... Didn't notice that. Probably something I should bring up to Svetius.
Although.. I think this is how the old forum style has always been - sub-forums are displayed so that you can get quick access to them without having to go through the main forum first.

i think it is better to make a sticky post (guide) for new sections that do not have ....just a suggestion
Thanx for the good work mates
Hi all,
I am getting quick launch menu even when I am charging the phone via plug. Can anyone please let me know, how to resolve this?
hmmm....y didn't you ask three questions in a single thread only instead of creating 3 separate threads?....it would be nice from users like u (you're here more than a year now)...to spread the rules around not tearing them down, don't you think?
Cheers
rkoby13,
I just want to know if I have 3 different questions or issues, then should I ask them in a single thread or create different thread for each query?

well.....mate...TBH....if i would have to ask 3 questions...i'd open one thread for sure....or better...i'd search for a thread which is most simmilar to my questions....e.g. any froyo rom thread would be ok....there are many, eh?....and i wouldn't have to even open one thread...coz there's still many users using froyo roms & your answers might be answered faster by only posting in any froyo dev thread where many users are helping each others...maybe even a dev itself gaves you an answer to your questions.....
you know what i mean, right?
and no hardfeelings mate....
Cheers
EDIT: btw: if you go to my profile and view all my threads that i've created...you'd see that i only opened 1 request/question thread...and that was on ideos x5 forum(my girlfriends machine)...regarding theme for stock Android 2.3.5...which was rolled out at that time....and yeah...i was a total noob about android system before i came here to XDA......i knew.....0.0....null...nothing about Android at all
can I get response to my original question now please?

yes....asap.......kindly tell me... what did you try to do to fix this by now?...and maybe screenshot of an issue in action would be helpfull too....i haven't been on froyo for a long time now....so refreshing my mind would help me too
I am running CM10.1 but was looking in the hardware using 'getevent'.
no events are produced on the gesture_sensor event (/dev/input/event7)
Is this a kernel issue?
Thanks,
D

Dude please be careful before posting questions, THIS IS DEVELOPER DISCUSSION SECTION
Thanks you for your helpful answer. Considering i was attempting to access the sensor to develop a gesture recognizing app, I assumed that a development forum would have been the best place. Obviously I was mistaken. Again thanks for the helpful response.

Actually i was polite and reported it to get it in the correct section and i did use NeatRom on my Galaxy S2 so the most likely rom is probably this one, which i am using now:

Not that I need to justify anything I do to you but! The reason I didn't advise him was because I don't know NeatRom it is one I've never used or been interested in trying. So I couldn't give him any decent answer I just wanted to let him know he was in the wrong place before certain people on here got very upset as they tend to do here over nothing!
Hello,
So I think I may have found a possible fix for the GPS taking ages to lock position in maps.
It seems the issue is related to Data for some reason, what I noticed is when I was connected to Wifi for a long time then hopped in the car and switched back to Data, GPS would never lock. No idea how this is related, but for me this was the case.
Upon looking through the developer options I found "Mobile data always active" to be toggled on. I simply toggled that OFF and had rock solid GPS locking or a couple of days now.
Hope this actually helps someone
Cheers.
I just noticed that I posted this in the wrong thread. Can a mod move it to Google Pixel 2 XL Guides, News, & Discussion?

I don't think you can move the thread unless your a senior moderator. However, you can delete the posts you made and say where you moved it to, then open a new thread in the proper section :good:

Just a slight correction: FSMs can move threads, however SMs get the job of moving special types of threads
