I'm getting sd card removed.

for me this was mostly fixed when I reformatted my SD card to FAT32. with exFAT i had no end of troubles.
it's not perfect with FAT32 (I've still had 1 or 2 "suddenly SD card removed"), but it's like 99% better.

32GB SD card issue - validated card as 32gb

I purchased a 32GB micro SD card for my HD2 after my 16GB card died last week. A sad day indeed, but an ideal time to upgrade
I've read a lot of threads on the forum about some people having issues with 32GB cards, and fake cards. This has prompted me to run H2testw, and also try formatting using SDformatterv3.
HD2testw - Verified as OK.
SDformatterv3 - Completes OK.
Now, when I add the newly formatted card to my phone, it mounts, and works fine. No problems at all. I then start to fill up the card with music. I firstly copied about 5GB to the card, and again I had no problems. The card works fine in the phone. I then copied another 10GB to the card. However now I have a problem. With the SD card in the phone, the phone hangs. When the phone is in standby, I press the power button and I get a black screen. If I remove the SD card then it starts to work correctly again.
So, my first thought was, duff card. So, running the programs above verified that the card is OK.
So, I am now wondering if the phone actually supports 32GB correctly (IE, when more than 16GB of data is on the card). I also thought that perhaps the ROM I am using is the problem.
I am running [CWR] BOYPPC-SHIFTPDA_GINGER 2.3.4-Sense.s V25 (24.May) ROM. I see that V35 is the most up to date rom, so perhaps I will need to reflash my phone. I will be testing this later today.
Has anybody else found themselves in a similar scenario, and did you find a solution?
Cheers,
I figured it out. Turns out to be a combination of things.
1) MIUI player locking up when trying to scan newly added music
2) Locking up because of some corrupt files
Tracking down the bad files resovled the problem

good to see you solved it, cuz i have a 32 gb class 6 and no problem.
some to notice its that to some ppl a 32 gb class 10 works with some bugs, a class 4 or 6 seems to works better.
PS: if you are a flashaholic like me, you should have partition your sd card with CWM partition option, so you could use some of the beneffits of sd/ext that some ROMs use
So 32 Gb works well with Htc Hd2. But, it depends which company and speed.

That's the thing: I bought brand new 32 GB SanDisk and am using MIUI JB. Constantly upgrading with their daily build to new versions to no avail.
Problem: I filled card with my files to listen. Initially it works alright, after some time however I find some folders are gone, some files are gone, things just dissapear from the card.
Now I wonder is it a card, is it a MIUI JB or is it HD2 that got broken after my intensive use. Some electronics burnt down or something.
Does anybody had this issues : combination of HD2 with MIUI JB on 32GB card (NAND or SD - both). Keeps losing files in very consistent manner.
I also checked the card with different software and formatted it many times and re partitioned.
As an experiment I am trying now old 8GB card to make sure if its card or not.

SD Card stopped mounting, permanently

I think my S4 just broke...
Basically I woke up with a message on my phone "sd card was unexpectedly removed". I had been sleeping so this happened during the night sometime. It appears no sd card will work in the phone now.
I've done the following:
- rebooted multiple times.
- removed and inserted another sd card, no change. Attempted this with two spare sd cards.
- Settings -> Storage -> Mount option is grayed out regardless of the sd card in there or not.
- all the sd cards were verified to be working in another phone and on PC.
So as far as I can tell my S4 just decided to blow the sd card port over night.
Logging in via adb shell it seems like the block device for the sd card is gone as well.
Any tips?

I had a similar problem.
The SD card i had was bad and the others were old and well used.
Apparently not all class 4 or higher SD cards are good quality these days even tho they work in your pc or older phone.
Try a brand new sd card.

Try a different rom or if you have a nandroid from before the issue started try flashing that.

I had a few SD Cards laying around. They work in other phones. The one in my S4 is not a cheap sd card either and has been working perfect in the phone until today. That sd card works fine in other phones (LG OG for example).

My S4 has only been motochopped and that was over a month ago. Everything has been working fine. The phone was not even in use last night it just happened over night while the phone was charging. Now it refuses to mount any SD card or at least the 3 I have tried.
Yeah, I get that. I'm suggesting that you try and find out if it's software or hardware. If it works with a different rom it's just software, if not it's hardware.

[Q] Samsung Galaxy S4 Memory Card Issue

I am using a 16 GB micro sd SANDISK ULTRA Class 6.
Since I have been Using it there are various problems of unsupported Memory card.
Phone Lags while Opening the gallery, and crashes it.
Also while Playing Music, player stops playing and says player cannot play this song.
My data in the sd card has also been corrupted, some of my movies and videos have been corrupted and it does not appear in the gallery or the my files.
When I Looked into the Memory Card, it had replaced many of the corrupted folders with an initial "μ" such as μusic, μideos.
Basically my phone ceases to read my Memory Card and crashes.
I did Format the Memory card as well as RESET the Phone but all in vain.
If anyone could suggest Me anything about it any home remedy, I'll be Grateful.
Thanks.
I have the same problem

I have a very odd thing happening to do with my 32GB SD card from GSkill - recovery keeps having issues with /cache - where it got to the point that I couldn't backup or restore anything without reboots..
Have tried reformatting it into Fat, Fat32, and exFat and it doesn't make a sh*t of difference which format its in, it Still does it - its only been doing it for the last week..
Sadly sandisk have admitted that some of their cards in the markets are from a bad batch and will fail in a shorter than normal time.

Driving me nuts! SD card issie

I'm on Verizon 4.3
All of a sudden, a few apps are acting up. Es file, cam scan, zedge, and hanging with friends.
I had them on my SD card, but they no longer work, unless I put them on the main memory. Not sure if my SD card just got corrupted, or if the new updates of these apps are screwing with SD card bc of kit cat programming?

Sd card sounds like it's going bad. Try the Sd on another device.

I notice it's newly updated apps. Could it have something to do with the apps updating to some kit Kat coding? I know in kit Kat apps to sd card is bonky

I have the same exact issue and was going crazy for weeks. I also bet that you can delete files, pics, vids, etc, off your memory card and after rebooting they magically reappear. Are you by chance using a 64Gb class 10 card? From what I've found out on here these cards randomly get locked. It's supposedly a Samsung issue that they are aware of and working on some kind of fix for. I know SanDisk will replace the card but who wants the same card when you know it's just a matter of time before it magically gets locked again? I read about one person on here who is on his third SanDisk card.
I've been noticing with Pocket Casts that downloaded pods would just stop playing in the middle and disappear from my queue like I've played the entire podcast. And I do have a 64gb class 10 card.

Try
Take your scdard, make a folder on your desktop and put all the files in it, Google a SD card formatter and reformat it, that should do it.

I've read on here that many have tried to reformat them in many ways with no luck but thanks for trying to help, I really do appreciate it. I luckily didn't have much on my card and have read that the SanDisk Ultra Cards are nothing but a headache with them randomly and magically becoming locked so the easiest and best thing for me to do is just buy a new card.

It takes a while for it to be formatted. My 64GB took a good 5 mins to complete. Just leave it. I found adaptable storage to be very slow compared to internal memory.

had the same thing got stuck at 30% but then after I restarted my phone it was working and showed as adaptive.
Umm... its' been at 30% for a good hour. I guess time to reboot. Damn buggy process.
So rebooted and now it say corrupted. Trying to format as internal again but it' stuck at 30% again.
I have a Samsung Evo plus.

I had the same issue with SanDisk Class 10 card. I kept on getting an error message," SD Card is too slow for Apps installation." or something similar to this. I switched to a faster card Lexar 128GB card (I happened to have one at home) and it formatted w/o any issues.
Just my personal two cents: It was pain in the neck to use sd card as internal memory as neither of my apps such Titanium Back UP, ROM Manager, AVIA, etc could 'see' the external card or any data previously installed/saved on it. I had to go back and reformat the ext card as portable device for this very reason. Not saying that you should not format it as internal memory but just make an informaed decision. Good Luck!!

I did it for the fourth time and it went. Buggy process indeed.
What happens when you factory reset? Everything gets wiped(ext and int)?

From my only attempt, the SD card becomes unreadable because it was formatted for that specific installation and will have to be reformatted, wiping everything. Would love to hear if anybody had a different experience. I'm currently leaving the SD formatted as portable storage to avoid that situation again.
Solved for Me
I had the same problem with a 128GB PNY UHS 1 card getting stuck at the initial 30% when formatting for internal storage on a Moto G4 plus. I tried everything, but could never get it to work. I had the theory that is was just too big for the phone to format before the software timed out. I bought a 32GB Sandisk Extreme Pro UHS 3 and haven't looked back. The phone formatted it as adoptable storage right away, and it's been working flawlessly ever since.

I have a Moto X Pure 16 gig with a Samsung 128GB UHS 1 card. It seemed to hang at 30% for a minute, but it finished without problem. Due to other problems I am having with the SD card (I will post those later) I suspect that the SD storage bus speeds may not be adequate. It would explain the timeouts and hangs that have been reported by many.
