Hello ,
Last night I took off my battery and let it cool for awhile from overheat . After it's cold , I charged my device . While charging , my phone goes overheat again , but I just let it like that till it's full . I played my phone for awhile , and checked battery from setting and it goes like in the screenshot , it just showed Android OS .
1 - How can this happen ? And how to solve it ?
2 - Any suggestion / idea for saving battery life ? Mine its 8.6% per hour . Sad with the battery life right now .

Had the same problem with my battery, looks like a normal problem on Universal.
Did you ever tryed to play around with linux on your device, this would be very intersteing for me. I am playing with it, and i thought it could be a nonworking linux driver, that distroyed the battery.
So please tell me, how you got this problem.
hey all ,
first of all i wanna say i just LOVE this great forum , i wish that every aspect
of life would have been taken care of as u do with the phone/ppc area , great
people and great support !! keep going !!
second ,
i am using the XDA EXEC for a month now (second hand device) which came
with 3 batteries and in 2 of them the device shuts in 40-50% batt left and
the 3rd battery shows allways 100% charge and shuts off after a day
instantly (no aggressive use done with the phone) , i am using uptime today
plugin to monitor batteries , anyone familiar with that stuff?
thanks in advance,
Shimi G.
Hi friends . i won a G3 and just flashed with JPA 3 days back. Everything is running smooth but with the known battery issue. back up is very poor around 12 hrs a days. beside that i faced a strange problem today. I charged my phone overnight and currently i am in office now. few minutes ago my ph suddenly showed up the notification of "battry full .. plz unplug the charger" while it was not charging. i am really having hell of a time with G3 battery issue. can anyone please suggest how to make it a bit stable.
poor back up was quite known to me.. but really pissed off with the false notification thing.. plz help.. regards..
No one to reply? That's sad..

I had that problem once, not sure what i did but it was probably just a reboot or removing and reinserting the battery
thanx for the reply... for the time being i have wiped the battery stat from the tutorial given on xda.. and experiencing significant change and no false notification, now i ma on 30hrs of usage with 40% left .. seems the meter reading also proper for the time being...

Hey there friend, I have the same issue with KE2 European version. It heats up to 50 degrees when used if charging. I wonder why do they mock us with such unfinished products?? Anyway, I posted here just to see if anyone has an idea. Thanks.
This is not a problem , this a new feature of the phone .
Now with you phone you can boil an egg , make a coffee , warm your self and so many other things.
We are the proud users of an new era of mobile phones .
Seriously now
I am facing the same problem too and it is really annoying , many users reported shut downs too because of the overheating , and this is VERY VERY SERIOUS PROBLEM .

Maybe this is a rom problem , i will suggest you to try the stock rom to check if you are facing the same problem again
My record temp is 55 degrees while charging and using wifi to stream videos..i have tried all kind of roms..stock and others...i know for a fact my device is defective due to some other issues..just waiting for my usb jig to arrive and hope for a replacement..

In the 3 days I have had the device, the back part has gone really really hot once. It happened when I was using the stock web browser to to go to endgadget website, using the 2G, EDGE connection. My browser got stuck and the back part became very hot. I forced the browser to exit, and let my device cool down itself. Afterwards I tried it again, going to endgadget, but using wifi this time. On wifi no such heating issues.
Also from what I have read in the forums, sometimes some apps force the device to use both the processors at 100. So just keep monitoring the CPU usage of the apps, and it a few days you will get to know, which apps to avoid.
My first sgs2 got to 46c + when running kaspersky virus scan before i cancelled it, and that is before i had a skin on my mobile so i sent it back.
I just ran kaspersky again on my new sgs2 with a skin on it, and the temp only got to 34c ,so i wonder if some sgs2 get hotter than others?
EDIT : sorry UK version
Facing the exact same issue with my device dont know the temp bur it gets very very hot , anyone from samsung listening

LoL. That was really funny.
I have the same problem too. With supercurio sound fix in captivate i was overwhelmed by the music but now sound is so awful.
Use Juice Defender. I get around 35 hours of battery life with moderate usage with it!
Hello everyone , hope y'all doin good.
I got a question. I got my 6p a new rom , purenexus... Flashed a new kernel (elementalx). I did it yesterday , but today morning , I woke up , on 100% , unplug my phone , put it on my pocket and 2 hours latter , I had like 96%. This is a massive decrease over stock Android when it came outta the box. Can someone tell me if this is normal or not , or what shall I do to get the impressive 1 month on stand by that I had (phone was on 70% , broke the screen , didn't touch it , repaired it , when I turned it back on , it was on 37% , for a whole month+). What shall I do to get the best outta stand by time ?
Get pure nexus Jan 21st build flash Franco then apply wingoku profile 2.1 with ex kernel manager and you'll be flying with the best battery life

Check your battery capacity with Accubattery. Run it a few times. Your battery may be degraded like many other ppl out there. To rule out the ROM itself, flash stock and compare.

Everything with the battery is ok , just got to get a good standby time , does anyone has any tips ?
Well, how many apps have you installed I the last 24 hours? Maybe all your apps are optimizing possibly?
What do you have running?
Any chance you were playing music?
Did the phone have a y heat to it when you took it out your pocket?
Also... I always felt that the first 1-5% goes really fast.

Ha Ha, what is your measured capacity with Accubattery? Probably thousands of ppl are having degraded battery problems. If you are looking for a limited PN fanboy response, why not just post in the dedicated PN sub-forum? You have a battery drain problem but apparently don't want to run a battery diagnostic to find out where the problem really lies, or flash to stock and find out if your custom ROM is the cause. A "tip" is not going to cure your problem. It requires homework.
Edit: Another issue is that the 6P is inaccurate at reporting 100% charging. Your device may charge for up to an hour longer to actually be full on the stock charger after showing 100%. What you see as fully charged may not be.
I left Pure Nexus because battery life was very poor compared to stock and Cortex. I thought it might stabilize after a couple days but the poor battery life was a constant and I was not the only person having that issue. I was running PN with Flash Kernel and Flash's profile. You will get better battery life with Franco Kernel but with noticable negative effect on the performance of your phone. You could always try Francos Naptime app which puts your phone into deep doze as soon as the screen goes off but I didn't personally care for the app. You might want to consider a different Rom if battery life is very concerning to you. I'm currently on Dirty Unicorns with Flash Kernel and I'm getting better battery life than Pure Nexus but not as good as Cortex. The problem with Cortex is that you have to use Flash Kernel to get good battery life and there is no OMS support. When Substratum stopped working in Legacy Mode (again) I decided to switch to a Rom with OMS support.
