Hi,
I bought an MDA Pro at eBay and it took me two weeks to get it.
I never tried to win an auction of a "refurbished" one, if the seller wrote that he "never turned it on".
If I have a broken device and get a refurbished one in exchange, why wouldn't I turn the exchanged device on and test it?
My advice to you:
1) Rewrite your text.
2) Limit your auction to EU and write in big letters that you do not ship to Africa, specially to Nigeria, due to all the scammers. This way they probably won't waste time with you.
3) Test your device. Take pictures of it when turned on. Explain all eventual faults, like scratches.
If you give a good description and if you test your device, you will certainly get serious bidders.
Cheers,
vma
Yeah saying you have never turned it on just looks suspicious. You gotta turn it on, try it out, make sure it works, and take working photos of it. Otherwise you will have a hard time selling it. I wouldn't buy based on what you've said.
Cheers, Mitchell
thanks....i have now switched it on and it works fine. your recomendations are greatly appreciated.
Good luck with your sale!
I have just switched over to the Storm (which I am loving but missing the flexibility of the 6800) and so I am selling off my old 6800 on Verizon. It is in perfect working order except that the USB sync doesn't work with the computer (or at least not on mine). Would be good for someone who wants a spare or doesn't care about syncing with a computer, or someone who wants to try out ROMS etc on a spare.
Comes with box, accessories and 1gb Sandisk card for flashing.
Make sensible offers please. Email is rosshardy - at - tampabay.rr.com or reply on this thread and I will try to check in on it.
I have a buddy looking for one, I was going to help him find one on ebay but I like to help out members on the board here first. Any indication of price? Does the unit charge just not sync? Any scratches? Had a screen protector on it etc...
Yes it charges fine, just doesn't sync. Not unusual, I had 2 others that did the same and never worked out if it was hardware or my computer (I think hardware though). I should also mention that I have a car charger for it and another 4 gb card for media as well if the person is interested.
It has a minor ding, screen is immaculate, was only used for 3 months and I am obsessive about my phones. I can send pictures if you want to email me with your address.
Anything around the $150 plus shipping would be acceptable I guess if that seems reasonable? Or make an offer
hi sir, check ur PM...
I also have a XV6800 that I am looking to sell. I just had it replaced by Verizon, so it's a refurb with a 01/19/2009 refurb date. I can even give you the Factory diagnostics test sheet they sent with it.
Nothing wrong with it whatsoever.

How much? Looking for any trades?
I think a lot of people wanting a pda cheap (no data plan with 6800) on verizon will be picking these up. Keep posting up anyone who wants to sell theirs and we will try to find buyers! I will get back to my buddy and see what his budget is and all that. Thanks all!

Buy & Sell thread
Guys
There is a thread in general section dedicated to this propose
Let´s use it!

I've bricked my magic..seems official now.
I doubt htc will just swap mine or fix it for a decent price (i'll try next week thou).
The only solution i see is just sell the phone for salvage as all parts are working.
So anyone interrested just make an offer.
I may be interested if it's white.
But anyway, did you buy that off your provider? If you did, people normally find a way to get a new phone from them (unless you've had it too long..)
Or did you get it off some person?

Note: Your phone will not be activated when it arrives. Please follow the instructions included in the box to activate it.
Web specials do not apply when upgrading to a pre-owned device. You’ll instead benefit from maintaining your current upgrade eligibility status.
I was just coming to post this.
I may buy one or two just to root and mess around with.
Worth a shot anyways.
It seems a deal! Better than the one I brought from craigslist, paid $100 without sdcard and headset.
BTW, I don't have to activate it, right?
I'm thinking about getting one. I dropped my Hero last week and scratched it up pretty badly (I was going to swap housing, but I don't want to bother with that). I'd use the refurb as my daily, with my other Hero as a testing device

I just ordered one. I had the option to have it pre-activated but I chose not to do that. I'm trying to get my husband on the Android bandwagon and this was a cheap way to do it. (He's currently in our family plan with a BB but wants to jump ship to ATT and Iphone. ugh, I know right?) If he hates it, I have a backup Hero and I did not have to extend my contract.
ordering mine tomorrow, went from a htc vogue with android hacked on to it, to a blackberry curve and now to an htc hero till my upgrade kicks in, never again shall i upgrade to a blackberry....piece of crap
looks like they must have sold out of the refurb heroes... :/
sadly wasn't able to order my phone that night due to mail holiday keeping me from getting my debit card on time but called sprint and was told they would have them back in stock on thursday
Where do you click to see a refurbished model?

They're currently out of stock, but according to the post above you, Sprint should have them back in stock by tomorrow.

i emailed their customer support and im waiting for respond, ill keep you guys updated
I looked yesterday and today and could not find any Refurb'ed Heros, there were some others. Wish I had seen this earlier, would have been nice to get one for my daughter.
yeah i checked into it again, won't have any for a while :/ i suggest you look into ebay if you want to try, alot of reliable sellers.
Keep looking... it's definitely worth doing.
Mine came in a Sprint OEM "Certified Pre-owned" box, packaged as if it were new. The only thing missing was an SD card (heck, it would be just 2Gb which is worthless anyhow) and a printed full manual. The phone looks brand new, except for one minor flaw--a tiny dent on the speaker grille. Otherwise, you wouldn't know this was refurbished.
The battery is in a small plastic bag with a sticker closure. It was not charged, so the phone required the full charging time to get going.
i found some from ebay that were bought up from sprint by bestbuy.
I just looked on eBay for a private party selling a Hero. I hate buying from the jerks too lazy to post real pictures of the product. I'm not buying a new phone, so why would I ever buy anything without being able see exactly what I'm really getting?
Anyhoots I won an auction for one the guy says is 4 months old for $133. Just watched for auction ending in a few minutes that fit what I wanted, placed my bid, 10 minutes later I had won.
Not refurbished, and more than $79, but I'm sure my daughter will love it.
Nice job, sadly my paypal account is locked because i forgot about it and never put in my information, i went looking for people selling and accepting non paypal purchases, i ends tomorrow so hopefully i win, it's refurbished.
Here you go guys,

should be about 11 up, most are bids but 2 of em can be bought directly and shipped out.
So I start a new line and everything on top of the one I already had to get the g2. I bought it at radio shack with my plan and wen I got home and was playing with my phone I noticed some dead pixels. They just constantly stay red. I've tried numerous pixel fixers some on all night. So icall tmo and let them know I want an exchange. They sey they'll send me a referbished one. And I was like whoaaa I buy a brand new phone and its defective from factory and u wanna send me a used referbed phone. And its only my 3rd day of 14. That's the mpst ridiculous thing I've herd. You don't buy a. Brand new model year car and it defective and the dealership say of well I can give u this used one.
you got the phone fron radio shack, return or exchange it there, not at T-mobile!
So box it back up and take it right back where you bought it. The end. Get a new one out the box from them. Make sure you open it up while your there and check for dead pixels or any other issues before leaving the store. You'll save yourself gas and a headache.

I had a feeling I would have to bring it to the shack. I just didn't know if tmo was a better route for exchange but I guess not. I just thout it was really lame that they wanted to send me a referb when mine was defective from factory you know. I just need to rant about it
Ps has neone else noticed dead pixels mine are rite above the menu button

I don't believe tmo will exchange 3rd party devices for a new one. If you had got it from them, they would've sent you a new one. You have to deal with the party you purchased the device from. Even if you buy from a tmo retailer.

Shouldn't be that hard to exchange it at the Shack. It's broke, power on and show them, have them exchange it, slap in your SIM card and call it a day.
On a side note: I would have not accepted a refurb either on a brand new phone.

I see what you're getting at, but your car analogy is kind of off. You wouldn't expect a Dealership to give you ANY car in exchange for a defective one you bought at a different dealer. Just saying.
Hope the shack gets you taken care of properly with a new replacement.
You had a stuck pixel, not a dead pixel.
just return it back where you got it...radio shack. simple as that.
not sure if tmobile has any refurb of the G2 yet cause it is so new. Plus you u have 14 days buyers remorse.
Man, another phone with stuck pixels? I understand LCD screens have their share of busted pixels but this keeps happening and happening.
FYI I am a RadioShack employee. You can bring the phone aback to any RadioShack its better if you bring it back to the one you bought it at but you will need to bring back the original box the phone and Everything that came in the box manual and such. If you bring your original receipt in that helps but they can also look it up in the system. Return policy for phones as it stands now is 30 days from purchase you can return/exchange it after that you will have to go through the repair/replacement service which is a pain and you will be out a phone for a while. But plan on it taking a good 30 min or so to do it and expect the employee's to have no clue what they are doing as the RadioShack POS is really annoying and complex for cell phone returns. If you want to make sure that the RadioShack that you are going to will be able to replace it on the spot call ahead and ask them to do a stock check on item 170-1089. If they don't ask them which store does have it in stock. I know the area I work in hasn't been moving the G2 all that well but it varies area to area. If they give you any trouble PM me and I will tell you the actual policy so they cant' try and pull any crap on you.on you

It's inherent in the way lcd displays operate. It's not something that's going away.
