MF9 wifi issue - Sprint Samsung Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshoot

Stock rooted MF9, came from stock rooted MDL. On MDL I could pull 12-15Mb dl through my Wi-Fi at home. After updating to MF9 I can barely pull 1-2Mb.
Checked my Wi-Fi speeds on my laptop, fine there. Just seems like my phone can't pull the download speeds.
Anyone else noticed this?
Edit for screen shot...MF9 results on top, MDL on bottom.

Sorry brotha I was stock rooted MDL as well and update to MF9 has not changed my Wifi speed. Still getting 20Mbps down.

I'm getting normal DL speeds on my home wifi on MF9.
To get to MF9 I did an odin back to stock MDC with data wipe then OTA updated to MDL then applied the MF9 update that I downloaded from XDA through the MDL recovery.
I am currently rooted on MF9 via chainfire odin autoroot and have applied some minor mods.
Data via network and wifi are still comparable to how it was before the update.

Edit: Attached is on home wifi

Thx for the replies. I fixed my issue I think. I went in to wifi settings, forgot the network, then turned off wifi completely for a couple minutes. Then turned back on, reconnected to my network...download speeds back where they should be.

Performance increase?
Battery life while data is being accessed?

I must be doing something wrong. It actually slowed down upload speeds. Is there a setting or something that I'm not aware of that I need to change?

Flashed this yesterday and I didnt notice any difference in signal. If anything, i think its draining my battery faster.
If you are getting slower speeds or battery drain I would update prl and wipe cache and batt stats.

It has actually increased my battery and tws is 1%

What's the latest prl for epic? Mine is 60671.
Anyone know if it works on even older roms like DK28 and DI18?
(no practical reason, just curious)
60677 try and update then post back

Anyone have a link to the EC05 modem? I searched for it and could not find it. When updating my Bonsai ROM the modem did not update from the EB13.

I did it via kies, worked after finally getting kies working which required toggling the usb data connection mode between camera and media. (Kies was just spinning saying "loading...")
Yeah I got mine Thursday morning, it prompted me to do it when I woke up about 8am I clicked ok it took about 20mins :good:
yeah I'd advise to do it via Kies mate (if you can get the bloody software to detect your phone properly - it's still buggy after all these years).
The file is absolutely huge so better to do it via kies and get some charge in at the same time.
Did it via kies, I think it made the phone cooler but prevents the motochopper root.
My interenet connection is only 5mb roughly and the file over kies is 8gb so would take forever
How come some people can get it other not ota

that might have been an earlier patch or something? Either that or maybe when you download it on kies it downloads the WHOLE firmware, as opposed just whats needed to update. Are you now running I9505XXUAMDM?

Maps is killing my battery on MF9

I updated to MF9 last night, and while I love the smoothness of the rom, the battery life is not as good as MDL. For some reason, Maps is using a bunch more battery than it used to. Has anyone else experienced this?

I'm pretty sure the kernel isn't the same. After updating to the MF9 firmware, but before flashing the MF9 ROM and kernel, my wifi was broke and I believe mobile data as well. Wifi would turn off immediately when I tried to turn it on. But after flashing the ROM and kernel it worked flawlessly. This is the same as what people reported going to MDL. If the kernel didn't change at all then the MDL kernel would work with the MF9 firmware.

2nd hand phone - almost blank screen after booting & selecting language

Apparently the owner ran into an issue after trying to update to kit Kat with Odin. I presume he tried to flash the stock firmware since be doesnt know what root means. He says it boots up fine and you manage to get into the select language screen. But afterwards you get a sparse black screen.

Sounds fixable. I should be able Odin another rom and flash cwm, root it and custom rom etc right?

Looks like it's running acustom ROM at the moment.
If the owner knows how to flash firmware on a phone, why hasn't he fixed it himself?

Um. The screenshot is of my phone showing his screenshot on gumtree.
This is his screenshot
I get what you mean though. Isn't Odin only used by users who know? Since normal users would perhaps use kies? Lol

Sigh. Bought the phone, for 200 though. I flashed a stock firmware via Odin. Still same screen as above. Sigh. I tried rooting it and getting Philz touch on it. Touch input does not seem to work. Loaded aosp roms and kernels onto the phone. Flashed it via Philz recovery. Gives me bootloops.
Ideas?
Sent from my Galaxy S3
Managed to somehow install a aosp rom. Touch input doesn't work? Wtf? How do I fix it? Screen lights up fine so what's the issue?
Managed to get it linked to adb somehow. Any way I can fix the touch issue?

I did. I flashed Wicked-X-v10.6, then the OH1 kernel, the L720T Converter, SystemUpdatesFix, Settings and then a few others like the Vol Boost, ViperEnabler and Xposed-v65-sdk21-arm-arter-V5-generic.zip

Setup Odin on your PC, download the correct tar for your device from www.sammobile.com, flash tar to phone in Download Mode.
