Unroot MK808 - Android Stick & Console RockChip based Computers

Hello,
I am new to Android TV sticks and I would like to try one. My television company supplies an app called 'TV Overal'.
You can watch channels from them if you are online on a Belgacom Internet line.
That's all no problem because I am a customer at Belgacom and have TV Overal worked on my smartphone (Android 4.0 ICS NON-rooted).
Now they ad a block for rooted devices. They said it is for copyright issues or something else...
I would like to buy this stick: MK 808 Android TV Stick
EBAY number: 190840841489
But I read that these sticks are rooted from the factory. Is it possible to unroot it? Otherwise I can't watch the channels
regards,
minitreintje

You could use this app from the Play store..https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.amphoras.hidemyroot...works on my phone (SG3)

Are you sure it will work?
regrads,
minitreintje

I can confirm this works with time warner apps as it's what I use on mine

Movies in Market (3.1)

So I updated with the rooted 3.1 and it's awesome, but when I got into the market, there's just the apps and books tabs but no movies tab. Anyone else have the movies tab yet or is this coming from the OTA and not the leaked one?
i think movies only works with a 3g xoom so far, the wifi xoom and tf may come latter
from what i read somewhere
This may be the reason you don't see Movies on your rooted device...

They must be blocking it from non rooted devices too, because I have no Movie tab in my market after upgrading to 3.1. However, I do have one on my pc on the Web based marketplace.
I'm not rooted and I can't see the movies either after 3.1
It's not available on all honeycomb devices yet, but I'm sure we'll find out more when we can have in in the coming weeks

I don't understand why Google would show something off at IO, then not follow through for other devices.

....Android 3.1 brings along widgets that can be resized vertically and horizontally, access to the newfangled Movies section of the Android Market, improved overall performance and support for a host of USB accessories. Unfortunately, the Movies department is only open for Android 3.1 tablets with 3G radios, hence, our 16GB WiFi test unit still showed it as unavailable. ......

When you choose an unsupported app the device does not show up in the download to drop down, I believe the movies will be the same way.
"Unfortunately, the Movies department is only open for Android 3.1 tablets with 3G radios, hence, our 16GB WiFi test unit still showed it as unavailable"
That's just dumb.
Why in heaven's name would you now allow Movies on a WiFi only device?

Stupidity Either that, or it's a ploy by the carriers to push people into overages and ever more expensive data plans, they can't do that if you're only using WiFi.

ImediaShare works well with Nexus 7 and DLNA LCDs, actually better than AllShare.
Hi everyone,
Thanks for all the ideas, my aim is to watch on my tablet what I can watch on my smart TV but in an other room e.g. if I am watching DVD on my TV my partner can see it the same from the bedroom as well. Basically like a second screen with the same program on it.
I hope that is give some extra help.
I think the same like if I watch my dreambox on the TV and I can see the same channel on my PC that kind of stuff what I want to achieved if it is possible but with my Nexus 7. Any idea...

Help, can it be done? AllShare Cast nexus 10 to Samsung tv

Hi I recently got the 2013 Samsung 8 series TV and was wondering if there is a way to enable all share cast on the nexus 10 for screen mirroring? I have this feature on my siii given its also a Samsung device
Looking around the inter web information is a little vague and conflicting!
Thanks
Dan

For screen mirroring you will need a miracast capable device. Initially the Nexus 10 was supposed to have miracast, but I doesn't (to my knowledge).
You can stream videos and pictures to your tv over WiFi using apps like imedia or bubbleUPnP. (or any dlna player)

I believe it has the capability of doing so hardware-wise, but the settings for it aren't enabled or visible. I think the memory bus or something would be a limitation due to having to push 2560x1600, but perhaps we can just change the resolution (there's some HDMI command thing found recently that does this) and use that?
Yea, wished we could enable it.
I have a netgear ptv3000 receiver. Works well with my dad's Note II.

thanks for the replies.
To give some more background, until very recently i was running XBMC on a win8 front room PC and Yatse on the nexus 10.
the joy was that if i was watching videos on the nexus i could hit Share/Send to Yatse and the XBMC would automatically start playing the stream for me on the TV.
thats the functionality i am looking for.
A lot that I have seen on the play store are simply players in their own right which if i look at my usage is not what i want.
ideally the right app would sit in the background as a service and catch any source (you tube, pictures, music, mxplayer or any where else I can press share/send to)
has anyone seen anything like this ?
at this point i am less interested in screen mirroring as such (until i want to play need for speed on the big tv!!)...
thanks
Dan.

Don't forget, this will allow either the nexus 10, your pc, or a home server to stream media to your tv through WiFi . You just have to make sure the settings in your tv are on for dlna and that your tv is connected to your network.

Yes It Can!?
Initially it was said that N10 would support Miracast
Then we were told neither N7 or N10 would support it.
Now Miracast has been enabled and working for N7, see
ht tp s://github .com/kensuke/ How-to-Miracast-on-AOSP/wiki and ht tp://w ww. you tube.com/watch?v=KNEmaIr3FEg
Even though Kensuke warned about trying it I went ahead and installed the non-tested OTA package for N10
I did not experience any loops as he was afraid of, no errors at all and it seems stable.
The OTA package seems stable but Miracast may or may not work.
I do have "Wireless display" in the menu now. I also believe searching for miracast receiver was working the first time I booted the tablet. Unfortunately I didnt have a miracast receiver nearby then and when I got home it seemed like I had lost the possibility to search for receivers.
I still have "Wireless Display" in the menu though.
Just spreading the word. Maybe and hopefully someone smarter then me would be able to make use of the patch :fingers-crossed:

New Fire TV 2 Stick available for pre-order

Delivery 20th October. Looks like a good deal
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00ZV9RDK...&pf_rd_p=9cb822a2-3ea5-4931-b897-803e845ba934
Interesting specs
MediaTek Quad-core ARM 1.3 GHz
Wi-Fi supports 2x2 MIMO 802.11a/b/g/n/ac
no 4k, which is understandable with the specs. Still 1gig memory and 8 gig storage. It also says optional ethernet. So maybe a dongle to split the mini usb is going to be sold.
yea...quad-core from dual-core is an upgrade but same amount of RAM. Wonder if it's able to handle Kodi fluidly like the AFTV box. Still, "It has the same 8GB internal storage and 1GB of RAM as the original, but makes the jump from Bluetooth 3.0 to 4.1. The device can also decode H.265 video, no doubt future-proofing for future streaming and media support. Finally, 802.11ac WiFi support has been added."
Will buy one to test it's performance...

The remote is the only downside. It requires hard press, but with a wireless keyboard, this thing is just beautiful.

I prefer an Android TV box, not just an Android box. Having to pull out a keyboard/mouse/touchpad for a lot of the major apps is a pain. The Android TV boxes including the fire tv and stick have dedicated apps that work with the included remote, I own one of these Android boxes running Android 6 and although it does kodi pretty well and connects to a usb hard drive / flash drive playing local media really well, where it lacks is the efficency of thr U.I with apps like hbogo, showtime, bbc iplayer, itv player, etc. Even Netflix is annoying with the Android boxes where you still need a secondary device like a BT or usb type keyboard / touchpad to access seasons of a show. Some of these Android boxes have a small mouse remote where you click the arrows to move around. Way too inefficient. Point is there's something about these fire tv and stick devices and Android TV boxes that integrate apps better than an Android box. I'm keeping my eye on the Xiaomi mi that's coming out for $69 and it's a true Android TV box.

I wouldn't mind helping you. I just don't know exact shipping cost via US Post Office it would be, my guess is around 13-20$. I sometimes ship to my home country Poland and lightweight packages cost around 13$ and usually arrive in 3-7 days.
Then they might hit you with custom fees so you would have to prepared for that as well. I'm here for many years so you won't have any issues trusting me, if you are interested you can PM me. Sometimes I might take longer to respond but I sure can help you.
Thanks.

Does Xfinity app work 100% with Shield TV?

I want to purchase the shield TV but only if this app works properly. I have a another Android TV (Mi Box) and I cannot get live streams from the app, only on demand. Thank you.
Yes it works via sideload app I have been using it for months. Just make sure you use the actual controller and not the remote as you will need the right stick to maneuver it.
OK cool, so you can live stream TV just like on a tablet?
Wanted to confirm if this is the x1 app or the older go app? Thinking to get a shield to use for extra comcast tv box.
for me running full marshmallow, go app works, newer TV app gives an error stating it's only compatible with mobile devices. Anybody know a workaround for that?
I just got the Shield TV Pro and the Xfinity TV go app does work just like it does on my Shield tab. I cannot get the newer Xfinity TV app to work though. I hope there is a fix for it as the newer app is better and I have a feeling they are going to discontinue the older app soon since the Xfinity website has ready been changed to look like the new app.
Does the new XFinity TV app work now that the XFinity TV Go app has been shut down?
any one have any info on getting the xfnity app to work...on nvidia shield... i sideloaded the app it just crashes ....thanks

It works on Marhsmallow but crashes on Nougat. At least I did have a working version on Marshmallow before I upgraded my shield. Not sure if the crash has to do with Comcast or simply with Android N
That stinks
