[Q] Data roaming - Networking

Not sure where else to post this so thought this would be best, I am going on holiday tomorrow and wondered if anyone knew whether using programs such as "tor" for example I can use my data whilst avoiding extra data charges? Any help would be much appreciated!

Anyone?

if you switch off your data roam setting and the program still works then it's good.

Data Roaming Problem - Help?

K, here's what happened. I was on a trip to the US for a few days, and I had my phone with me as always. It was on NFSFAN's 6.5 V10 rom and I didn't bother using the internet to avoid data roaming costs. But, I forgot to turn off the data connection in settings, and the RSS Hub may of updated itself automatically without my consent. Now I'm worried if this means I'll have to pay a huge roaming charge for something I didn't have control over.
Can someone please give me a straight answer about this? Thanks.

Download Booster question

Hey all,
I can't seem to find the answer anywhere. Would anyone happen to know how much percentage of data and wifi is used when downloading a file with this feature activated?
Thanks to anyone that can help.

Which ever has the fasted download speed at the time will use the most. Tbh unless your data plan is unlimited you best not use it as you'll soon run up a big mobile data bill!

probably won't happen until you root the phone. It can be done with a sql edit.

OK so im not the only one. I was assuming it was a bug from doing the phone data transfer. I'm wondering if T-Mobile intentionally removed it to encourage people keeping their data on at all times. I usually buy my phones unlocked and it's been so long since I bought a phone from the provider. Now I'm getting smacked with the reminder of carrier bloatware and restrictions

Simultaneous voice and data

Hello all,
I noticed after the recent update (4BQC5) that I can no longer use my data while on the phone, I know previously that I was able to use data while on a call. Has anyone noticed this? Is there anyway to get this functionality back? Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.

VoLTE may have been deactivated. Check the settings and reactivate if needed. Make sure your provider has it enabled in your account if required

I was able to get this fixed by booting into recovery and clearing the cache. Before I did that I checked to see if HD voice was enabled it was. Thanks for your help.

Anyway to Delete data saver?

If there is already a thread I apologise. But anyway....Does anyone know how to fully delete or remove the Data Saver Feature. I have issues where when roaming it automatically turns on and data fully dies out unless I keep manually shutting off. If there is a way to delete, would be much appreciated if anyone knows how to. Its mainly very annoying more than helpful as I have all set to still allow data and yet issues remain.
What model and ROM do u have? Atimes it might be u have to reflash the rom u are using. I once experienced sth like that. But mine was autosync coming up automatically even when i switched it off...

Ls997, classic rom. Will suck if so, got tons of work put into this rom, unless a dirty flash would be sufficient.

So you want data to work without restrictions while roaming (I'm assuming this means roaming on a network that's not your main carrier), but data saver keeps turning itself on? If so, then I'm assuming you already enabled data roaming and set all your apps to have unrestricted data access.

Yeah, that's why it's an issue. All apps are set to allow. I am oddly in alot of roaming areas is why an issue as well. Sprint don't have the greatest coverage.

I see. I'm on a Sprint MVNO which only gives me voice and texting in roaming areas, so I wouldn't be able to test this. Are there roaming data amount caps and speed limits for you? I wonder if any of those could trigger data saver or it's just some bug from Android Nougat that can't be fixed.

No limits. Dang bug. If removal is able that would be sweet.
