Will aokp and paranoid ever have galaxy built in IR blaster capabilities? - Sprint Samsung Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshoot

Will aokp and paranoid ever have galaxy built in IR blaster capabilities? I would love me some paranoid android with ir blaster functionality.

Most likely not. Unless Samsung releases the source.

Task650 AOKP had it but the thread was deleted for some reason...

CM10 JellyBean for Nexus S 4G

Check out this link for ROM. Link has links for both ROM and Gapps.
Last update Aug 6... running great
https://plus.google.com/app/plus/mp/...&view=activity
All credit goes to Robert Burns and the CM team! Thank you!
For whatever reason, boot screen says CM9. Here's link for the CM10 animation:
http://www.mediafire.com/?s36x3eo9l07hk9e
What works: Everything!
Brightness slide
4g toggle working
Haven't checked tethering
Back to kill
Bugs: Deep idle makes things go a little screwy.
Figured we needed this Rom in our 4G thread.... 4g toggle works and running smooth using Matrix 22.5 kernel.
Good effort. However, this has been available since July 23 in the general section because the dev (R. Burns) did not post it.

I'd just rather have it in our 4g forum.... easier to follow

If you didn't develop it, has to be in general not development

this is very true
Maybe you should have to pass a test on the rules before you can become a member. Did you develop anything? If not it doesn't belong in development

Who really checks the general section? Not me lol... but yeah this isn't new news... ibtl

Moved to general and closed.
As noted, this is already posted, and if you didn't develop it, it doesn't belong in development, regardless of where you would like it.

NEW 2 Sprint S4

I just got this phone from Sprint and would like to know a good daily use rom to load
thanks for any suggestions
You should've really posted under General Discussion...and regarding your question. If you want Touchwiz based, I'm currently using the FreeGS4 rom and liking it. If you want more of a stock android, then I suggest CM10.1
Wrong section. But it depends what you like in a rom. Do you like the touchwiz? If so go with one of the Roms in the development section. If you like the stock feel trying the AOKP

FreeGs4 tw and Carbon for Aosp, carbon was the only aosp ROM that I found Bluetooth calling working on.

Could do what I did. Try diffrrent ROM's and whatever you like best... use that one. Also, the ROM posts give info.

Freegs4!! should be getting updated soon too :fingers-crossed:
I am a huge fan of stock android. My daily driver is Carbon ROM in which everything works and its slick as android can get. Free GS4 is solid for the TW feel and helps the new user because you won't lose any of the gs4 features such as eye tracking and the like

Looking for a Rom that..

OK so I know this question comes from my lack of knowledge.. But here goes..
I've been using Task650s aokp for like 6 months.. Just got my 4s, and installed it right away. Love it.. Mostly because I want major customization. However, I do want to experience some of the s4 features that come stock.
Is there a Rom that I can use the theme chooser on for aokp and cm themes, while still having access to stock features that are otherwise not accessible on many custom roms?

Mint jelly in the at&t android devolpment is touchwiz but themed to look like aosp with extra customization and foxhound in the i9505 forums is themed to look like aosp with extra customization as well

What I think you really mean to ask is, "Is there a custum Touchwiz rom that includes the CM/AOKP theme chooser?"
The answer is, "No."
You could always check out the xtheme engine, it's supposed to be just like the theme engine from cm/aokp but fit stick Roms

It is far more limited then the theme engine which is kinda limited in what it can do.
To answer the OP. No if you want AOSP based you have to be willing to give up ever thing samsung

[Q] Are there any stock Android roms for S4?

I have been very confused trying to find an AOSP rom for my S4. I am not a fan of touchwiz, I prefer Google's experience. But I can't make heads or tails of the available roms for this device. Are any of them similar to what I would get with Cyanogenmod?
I believe you should be looking in Original Android Development

They are in Android development and Original development. Since this is a question this post should be I. The Q and A section also.

Here's a list of every rom available for the Sprint GS4, and specifically a list of every AOSP rom. There are a ton of them for our phone - almost triple the TW roms.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2303917
Also the possibility of Sense 5 being ported to our device is very very slim.

It's actually very very probable if you have the right person doing it, as the One has the exact same processor as the S4 (APQ8064T)
And Sense 5 was ported to the S3, which has a similar, but not exactly the same, processor.
The Thanks button is just to avoid "THANKS" posts in threads. Nothing more. Don't defeat the purpose of why it was introduced.

Haha well I didn't say it was improbable but that the possibility of it being it ported was slim. In the sense(no pun lol) that the chances of a fully functional port of it being ported are slim not that it is technically incapable of being done by some super dev ;P
My point was more so that I haven't seen anyone even mention of working on it for the S4 and that the S3 port is still in very early stages of development so I don't see it coming anytime soon especially if you are working on the S3 version at the moment! Though not saying you won't be able to get it on the S4 haha!

Paranoid Android or CyanogenMod D802

Hi all,
Getting my G2 in a week and thought I could get your input. I'm sure there are others that may also be interested...
I've been using cm for years, and have honestly been a fanboy without trying other custom roms.
Wanted to ask, what would you recommend for the g2? PA or CM?
PA is on kitkat already, and the forum and development seems more active for PA, whereas CM is still on 4.3.1 and the forum does not seem all that active...
Your thoughts please?
Thanks!

EDIT: I realise this was opened in the incorrect forum, apologies.
Cm 10.2 all the way
Vertigo just today uploaded alpha build of cm11, I used to use cm before but since halo I've been using pa (and pie's also awesome) But ultimately it's just personal preference

This.
Currently if you are talking KitKat, it makes almost 0 difference as both are pretty much stock base with minor tweaks and very minor differences.
Both are good in their own way.
But I suggest u post this in the Q& A thread.
Because here it might lead to best ROM/Kernel thread
Flash them both and see which you like
Just test yourself and see what fits you best
Also, please note that such comparasion threads are not allowed on xda.

And yet another also, all questions are supposed to go into the Q&A section
